If you love to be close to the beach, this villa is for you. On the pretty island of Kea, this home is set over the sandy beach of Xyla (the views from the pool are amazing), which can be reached in just five minutes on foot. The closest island to Athens, ferries back and forth are frequent so you can enjoy some day trips to the capital. Closer to home, the port of Kea is a 10-minute drive away, where you’ll find various shops and bakeries. 

The Beach Below

Perched on the hillside on the island of Kea, this villa’s remote location and panoramic sea view instantly caught our eye. Located up a dirt road, the local stone villa blends in with the rugged surrounds – ideal for those seeking some privacy. Curated with outdoor living in mind, you’ll be able to relax in the hot sun with the infinity pool, terrace and an outdoor dining area with barbecue for evening meals. Just a short walk and you’ll find the sandy beach of Xyla. A ten-minute drive from the port, you can catch one of the ferries to Athen’s and explore further afield. 

Into The Aegean 

On Greece's beautiful island of Kea, this villa's private pool and outdoor seating are perfectly placed to enjoy sunset views and the endless Aegean Sea. The interior is minimal and coastal and the location is peaceful, making it a great choice for families or couples looking for romance. While the nearest beach is just 1km away, we recommend having a car here for getting the most out of this beautiful location and exploring Korissa's famous taverns and fantastic local restaurants.

There's a private swimming pool, a shaded pergola with lounge seating and an alfresco dining area, plenty of poolside sun loungers and deck chairs positioned in prime view of the glistening seafront. Then, head down the steps for direct access to the sea, where you can enjoy open-water swimming when the current is calm. 

Inside, classic designs combined with modern home comforts create a unique experience where you can relax, switch off and reflect. Should you need to work while holidaying here, there are plenty of desk spaces to set up a laptop and work in solitude. Head out to discover the island of Kea and explore the surrounding locale, including the likes of Xyla Beach(a five-minute drive away) and the local harbour with bars, shops and restaurants, reachable in ten minutes by car.

Consisting of a main house and two smaller guest houses, this striking modern villa is located just two minutes walk from the beautiful beach at Koundouros, considered one of the loveliest on the whole island of Kea. Here, you will be able to enjoy a range of water sports in and around the glittering waters of the Aegean, including scuba diving beneath the glistening waves. The capital of the island, the picturesque town of Ioulida, is just sixteen kilometres from the home, where you find loads of inviting authentic eateries and bags of quintessentially Greek charm – so don’t miss out on the chance to spend an afternoon exploring its atmospheric streets.

The villa offers stunning panoramic sea views from its numerous terraces and furnished balconies, as well as an irresistible infinity pool around which you can while away a long, sun-soaked afternoon. Loaf in the hammock or on one of the sun loungers, catching a tan and catching up on your reading while making the most of the peace and quiet. The home is nestled within a large plot of land, creating a sense of privacy and tranquillity. Then there's that cosy alfresco dining area, the perfect place for a leisurely evening spent with loved ones over some great Greek food and wine.

Slate & Wood

This charming home offers the best of both worlds, as it’s perfectly positioned between Athens and the beaches of mainland Greece. It’s in a quiet suburb close to the golden sands of the Attica coastline, so you can spend your days paddling in the sea or lounging beside the private pool, if you don’t fancy a day-trip to the Acropolis. The villa is spread over four floors, with a top-floor terrace that boasts sea views. The architect-designed home is sleek and stylish, with floor-to-ceiling windows that bring the outside in. You'll have everything you need for a relaxing break here, though one guest will sleep on a sofa bed. 

The Eyes of Artemis

Sun seekers – this one’s for you. With an array of terrace spaces to soak up the glorious Greek rays, this holiday will be all about outdoor living. With two dining tables, a barbecue and a bar, you won’t even need to go indoors to cook. With four bedrooms – one of which has a bunk bed better suited to children – you’ll find a calming, tranquil space to relax when you venture inside.

With its unfussy interiors, dusk-to-dawn views of the Aegean Sea and laidback feel, this carefully considered home guarantees a blissful stay in Kea’s untouched countryside. Days begin on the terrace, cup of coffee in hand, watching the sunrise over the craggy landscape. After a traditional Greek breakfast and a game of Pétanque, peruse the bookshelves in the Cycladic-inspired living space and find a shady nook to get lost in a paperback.

Splash about in the glittering pool or lie back on a lounger and soak up the golden sunshine. If exploring is on the agenda, take the short drive to Coressia and watch the boats to and fro from the port. Devour stuffed vine leaves in waterside tavernas before strolling along the soft sands of Gialiskari Beach. When the afternoon draws to a close, head home to make lasting memories with your loved ones in the glow of the sunset.

Situated within a complex of six houses, this two-bedroom apartment on the Greek island of Kea is both cute and compact. Although small, this split-level home features a covered alfresco dining terrace and a top-floor balcony from which to enjoy uninterrupted sea views. Location-wise it’s a mere 100m from Gialiskari’s stunning sandy beach and only a short walk from Vourkari’s picturesque harbour awash with cafes, restaurants, boutiques and bars.

Wherever your chosen perch is, it's safe to say you'll be left awe-inspired as the sun paints the sky with fiery hues of pink and orange. Nearby, you'll find Korissia and Vourkari ports, with an array of shops, tavernas and eateries to explore, just a short drive away. Oh, and did we mention the local beaches of Kea? The island has 45 beaches, many of which are accessible exclusively by boat. Heaven.

A private path leads from the terrace of this Kea villa to flat rocks on the shore of the Aegean Sea – a perfect swim spot when the weather is calm. Just 100 metres along the coast, you’ll find a horseshoe of secluded sandy beach. Or, you can opt to swim in the saline infinity pool and simply admire the sea from on high instead. Sunsets from the dining table on the terrace are particularly spectacular and the summer kitchen can provide rustic feasts. The open kitchen, living and dining room inside feels very much lived-in with trinkets and curios covering most surfaces – but the bonus is the kitchen comes with all the odd utensils and spices you might need.

Staircase to the Sea

The bedrooms are spread across four separate houses, making this feel like your very own private resort. Outside, you’ll find an infinity pool, canopy daybeds and a lounge with giant chess, all designed for soaking up the scenery. Inside, stone walls, exposed beams and natural textiles add to the boho charm. The beach is within walking distance, though you’ll need a car for local restaurants and amenities. However, with a cook included for breakfast and lunch, it's worth the effort.
