As you would hope, there are plenty of spots from which you can admire this wonderful landscape. If the weather's on the warmer side, you can take in the surroundings from the pair of swimming pools or out on one of the myriad terraces and balconies. When the sun's gone down, you can choose instead to sink back into the Jacuzzi or retire next to the fire pit for a little bit of added cosiness.

Although you'll want to spend as much time out in the open air as possible here, you won't be disappointed when you finally have to head inside. There are two wings to the property, plus a self-contained studio apartment, which means that there's an abundance of private space, even for larger groups. Greek Island Haven

This contemporary villa offering stunning sea views towards Lefkada and direct access to the sea is a real find. An excellent choice for guests who value a little extra privacy, each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and direct access to private balconies or terraces for quiet morning coffees in the sunshine. Break up pool days with a dip in the sea – a small beach that's perfect for snorkelling is just a 50-metre flip-flop away via steps leading directly from the villa. Fancy a little more bustle? You'll need to hop in the car to reach Vathy's restaurants and shops (a ten-minute drive). However, your local taverna (just a ten-minute stroll away) might be all you need. 

The Ocean Within

Nestled in the hillside, offering sweeping views of the Ionian coastline, this villa is ideal for two couples or a small family. The living space opens onto a generous terrace, where you’ll find a dining area, comfortable seating and, our favourite feature, the infinity pool. Though if you’re staying with little ones, they’ll need to be supervised at all times. You’ll need a car here if you plan on exploring, but fortunately, Lefkada Town is within easy driving distance, and you’re not far from Pefkoulia Beach.

Fountains of Light

Standing over the glittering Ionian Sea, this impressive villa offers plenty of outdoor space. The garden has an array of patios and relaxing spots from which to admire views of the Lefkada countryside, our favourite being the emerald infinity pool. All three bedrooms have their own balcony too, where you can enjoy some time to yourself. It was the jetty just below the villa that caught our eye, however, which offers a sunbathing area right next to the ocean. It’s only shared with two other villas, so you don’t have to worry about overcrowding. The traditional harbour of Sivota is just a 45-minute walk away, where you can enjoy a meal on the waterfront.

Located on Lefkada – one of the most breathtaking Greek islands – this home can be found on the very east coast where the seaside town of Nidri is surrounded by natural beauty. Other than the views, you can also expect to find authentic tavernas and bustling coffee shops that you’ll certainly want to visit after you’ve popped into the souvenir shops. With some of the most stunning beaches no further than thirty minutes by car – some are far closer and reachable on foot – you can spend lazy days listening to the waves lapping the shore as you soak in the sun. That is if you even make it out the door, because this home is as much of a gem as the island it’s on. 

Cool and bright with a neutral colour palette, each of the bedrooms open up onto balconies, allowing you to constantly stay in touch with the spectacular views on offer here. Step out onto one of the balconies at dusk to enjoy your coffee with the sunrise. Spend days on the sunloungers or in the egg chair with your nose in a novel, or make use of the floating daybed as a unique reading spot. Take a dip in the infinity pool, enjoy a meze platter alfresco, and absorb the tranquillity as you take the time to unwind.

Gaia at Peace

Situated a few kilometres outside the sleepy hillside village of Lazarata, this traditional stone villa offers a secluded escape surrounded by olive trees and no near neighbours that overlook you. While the kitchen is just about capable of catering for four, tucking into homemade meals at the outdoor dining area more than makes up for any culinary compromises. Elsewhere, the infinity pool is perfectly positioned to make the most of those tree-lined mountain and Ionian Sea views, with a telescope on hand for a closer glimpse at passing superyachts. A short drive from your rural hideaway, the small fishing village of Nikiana is blessed with a quiet stretch of coastline and beachfront restaurants specialising in fresh seafood.

Sweet Aconis

You'll find this villa only twenty minutes from Lefkada Town and seven from Pefkoulia Beach. It's a great location, close to the action but still tucked away for guests who want a bit more peace and quiet. The Ionian Sea views are pretty hard to be, too. Our favourite spot to admire them is the balcony, but the private pool also offers a glimpse of the scenery. The interior is contemporary, with stone walls and beamed ceilings to give it a bit of character. Upstairs, the snug mezzanine-level twin room is ideal for older children, but as the only two full bathrooms here are en-suites, guests in this bedroom will have to share.

While you'll need to tackle 116 steps from the villa to reach Spilia Beach below, this beautiful villa offers knockout vistas over Skorpios Island and the Lefkada mountains from its heightened position. Spread out across one level, the free-flowing living area leads out onto a panoramic veranda and saltwater infinity pool. And wait until you see the stunning Ionian views from the rooftop terrace. Keen to explore the island? Let your host organise a boat charter to discover Lefkada's hidden coves. Keep things low-key at Spilia Beach with its seafront tavernas for lunch – just a four-minute stroll away. Or mosey into the sleepy hillside village of Spartochori (twenty minutes on foot) – its cobbled streets and authentic tavernas are an evening well spent.

You will need a car to get around here, but your host can help organise car rentals, plus it’s just 3 kilometres to the nearest beach, while Lefkada Town is also within easy driving distance. 

Dawn of Peace

A great pick for groups looking to escape the tourist spots, this villa is a short drive from Tsoukalades Beach. But that's not all – authentic restaurants, rugged hiking trails, and a monastery await nearby. Though the gated entrance and car park are shared with two neighbouring homes, privacy is guaranteed at the pool terrace and leafy barbecue area. While the mezzanine-level third bedroom isn't suitable for little ones, its sea-facing balcony makes it a winner for older kids who crave space.
