Perched right in front of the sea and offering views of Messinian Bay, this apartment delivers on location. Exploring Kalamata on foot is easy, with local taverns, restaurants, and bars within easy reach. The beach and port are also just across the street. Back home, you can rest your feet in the modern living space. Although the lofted main bedroom is comfortable and contemporary, it isn't the most private since it overlooks the lounge. Guests five and six will also be sleeping on a sofa bed, so we think it's best for shorter trips. Overall, the home lacks some creature comforts – including a washing machine and proper air conditioning – but it's a convenient place to unwind between adventures.

This luxurious villa is located in the Exclusive Villas Resort, a fabulous holiday complex on the Messenian Gulf, just 15 kilometres from the city of Kalamata and the airport Captain Vassilis Constantakopoulos. The views from the villa are spectacular, and there is a lovely private swimming pool and terrace. You’ll find this elegant home in the sun soaked Peloponnese, a short drive from the lively seaside city of Kalamata. Inside, rooms are decorated in creamy tones and filled with antique furnishings – we particularly loved the merlot red sofa in the living space. After waking up with a coffee at the breakfast bar, step into the sunshine on the balcony and breathe in the fresh air.
