Built into the side of a cave overlooking the rolling hills and little villages of Mykonos, this unique abode is quite breathtaking. Inside, you'll find dramatic cave walls, illuminated by contemporary lighting and paired with modern Scandi-style furniture, creating a memorable space that feels peaceful and calm. Outside, you'll find a stunning shared outdoor pool for cooling off on hot days, and lots of spots to soak up the sun. It's based in Tourlos on the West Coast of the island, meaning you'll be within easy reach of the beautiful beach as well as lots of romantic restaurants and friendly bars.

Carved into Caves

On the outskirts of Mykonos Town, you’ll find architecture that isn’t so traditional. Gorgeous, luxury villas can be seen everywhere you turn – close enough to the delights of the town, but secluded enough to enjoy the sun and sea in total zen.

The best time to arrive at this home may well be golden hour, when the sun softens its bright white exteriors, the natural hues of the stone perimeter walls, and the rich wood of the terrace pagoda. An asymmetric pool is framed by native shrubs and wildflowers on one side, and a row of comfortable sun loungers on the other. Awake feeling refreshed in one of the effortlessly stylish bedrooms. Then, after a glass of fresh orange juice or a cup of aromatic coffee on the terrace, take the time for a tranquil morning swim in the beautiful infinity pool. Why not then make the most of the location and meander over to the celeb-strewn hangouts of iconic Mykonos Town, which cling implausibly to cliff faces plunging into the sea. 

Whilst the exuberant nightlife, myriad fashionable shops, and lively cafes, beach bars, and restaurants of Mykonos are within easy reach, the village of Tourlos, where this home is located, offers you an authentic taste of the slower pace of Greek Island life, and the otherworldly beaches of Psarou, Ornos, St John and Agios Stefanos are reachable in just twenty minutes by car. We already envisage ourselves taking a dip in the glittering blue waters of the Aegean, before drying off in the sun, slipping on something comfy, and making our way along the sand to one of the local tavernas for a leisurely lunch of the most wonderfully fresh seafood, flavourful Greek salad, and a cold beer. It really doesn't get much better than that.

A Moment of Crystal Clarity

White as a wedding cake against a forget-me-not-blue sky, this Mykonos villa sits on a coastal hilltop overlooking the Aegean Sea. Days are meant for the outdoors here, with myriad seating nooks and terraces furnished with outdoor sofas to while away the hours. Each spot takes advantage of the stunning sea view, out over the Aegean to the island of Rineia. Perhaps the L-shaped pool with its infinity edge is the best place to watch the boats go by.

Should you tire of the outdoors lounges, heading inside you’ve got a social, open-plan dining and living room in soothing wood and white. We love the old dresser in the dining area, which looks like it’s been rescued from a shipwreck. The dedicated playroom on the ground floor lets you know this place is family-friendly. The crowning jewel of this home has to be the luxurious master bedroom, which is like a hotel suite with a separate seating area. It’s a boho-chic spot with exposed stone walls, dramatically uplit as if you’re sleeping in a (super-luxe) cave.

Although you’re out in the quiet hills of inland Mykonos here, it’s just a ten-minute drive into the heart of Mykonos town where cocktail bars buzz to life at night and the narrow streets are packed with cafés, bars and shops backing onto the water. 

Hedonist's Rest

Tucked away in Tourlos, with panoramic views of Mykonos Town and the turquoise Aegean Sea, this one-bedroom suite would suit couples looking to explore the Greek island. The minimal suite is compact but breezy, with plenty of communal space. While the swimming pool and terrace may be communal – the panoramic views are worth sharing. The neighbouring suite can also be booked and combined for larger groups, which provides additional privacy. The coastline isn’t too far – with Tourlos beach being a quiet spot to relax. If you’re looking for nightlife – Mykonos is just a short drive away. 

Olive Branch & Aegean Blue

This charming villa is situated in the coastal village of Tourlos and boasts unobstructed views across the Aegean Sea. It's spread across three floors with no lift access – so may not be suitable for individuals with reduced mobility. The home is decorated in neutral tones and there's a spacious open-plan kitchen dining area containing all of the expected modern appliances. We love the private infinity pool and covered outdoor lounge area in the garden – there's plenty of space here for sunbathing or seeking shade. While there's lots to do in the area on foot, we recommend a car if you'd like to explore with ease – the villa is just a ten-minute drive from Mykonos Town.
