Found in the rural area of Nea Magnesia, this home, with the beach right on its doorstep, is the ideal getaway for large parties wanting to explore the beautiful island of Crete. Made up of three apartments, this villa guarantees privacy for everyone whilst still allowing for the group to come together in the communal areas. 

Make a splash in the shared pool or watch the sunset from the hot tub, walk down to the beach and spend the day in the surf and sand, or claim a sunlounger from where you can work on your tan whilst also catching up on your reading. 

Grill a Mediterranean feast on the barbecue whilst the kids keep themselves busy in the play area and come together at sunset to enjoy a glass of wine with dinner on the balcony. Meals can also be taken at the bench-style dining table. 

Drive minutes away to explore Rethymno. Grab a coffee, visit the folklore museum, and wander the streets admiring the colourful alleys, Venetian port and everything else that makes this little town one of the most beautiful places in Greece. 

Pistil

Look no further for the perfect home. This one blends tranquillity and sparkle where you can wake up to the sun glistening through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Open the doors onto the veranda, and you're in paradise with rooftop views of the crystal clear waters, ready for some tasty brunch.

Created with only high standards and regard for the environment in mind, with designer furniture making appearances – from designers, such as Poul Christiansen and Boris Berlin. As if that wasn't enough, white marble from Greece is used throughout, allowing you to experience the Greek dream.

In a privileged location, barely 50m from the exclusive private beach, you can spend the entire day relaxing on the sun loungers with a pina colada in hand. After you've finished, go for a swim in the sea and repeat the process the next day. Take a dip in your private hot tub while embracing the sunset across the island to end on a glowing note.


Into The Sleek

Located in Rethymno along the north coast of Crete, this sun-soaked villa is perfectly suited for an endlessly relaxing stay with large groups of friends and extended family. Whether you're a beachgoer or a poolside sunbather, this crowd-pleasing pad is a great option. 

Whitewashed walls and luscious greenery are parr for the course these days, but it's the fenced-off private pool, complete with sun loungers, pergolas, a terrace dining area, barbecue and summer kitchen, that really caught our eye. We can think of nothing better than filling your time with long alfresco lunches and early-evening sundowners out on the terrace, while the children splash about in the pool or play on the outdoor toys, kindly provided by your host. 

Stepping inside, you'll find a vibrant pink colour palette, playful wallpaper prints and high vaulted ceilings that make for a lovely, sociable space to play games and cosy up on chillier nights (a rarity here, we know). A pool table and separate games room ensure fun-filled evenings, whatever the weather. And if you can peel yourself away from this beautiful villa, Rethymno town and Stavromenos Beach (a 7-km drive away) are great trips out for all the family. 

Pink at Heart

This beautifully restored home is a notch above its pretty surroundings. In a beautiful stone building that dates back to 1880, it’s been restored to maintain its stunning traditional features, yet modernised to embrace the unique use of space. The open-plan dining and living space is ideal for a sociable evening enjoying a few drinks and dinner with friends. The velour corner sofa with a view extending across to the coastline is just an additional luxurious touch. Open your doors and you’re met with a second seating area, should you prefer to dine alfresco. Our favourite spot, however, is the private infinity pool where the crystal blue sea can be seen in the distance. 

Situated in the centre of Maroulas village, you’re surrounded by rich history and high above Rethymno – springs, several valleys and picturesque greenery are the natural beauty spots which beautifully complement the local taverns, cafes and mini-markets. After a day of exploring, retire for a relaxed evening at home. The bedrooms are classically calm, dressed in serene white and natural textures. In the morning, pour yourself a coffee and grab a bite to eat and head to your private balcony, where you can watch the sunrise over the horizon – another reminder you’re in holiday heaven.

The Pretty Peacock

Nestled in a tranquil corner of Sfakaki, this villa offers guests the perfect retreat for a relaxing getaway. Spread over two floors, the villa boasts plenty of space for family or friends to unwind together. The designs are simple, and the bathrooms are a little dated, but the sea views more than make up for it. Guests can soak up the views from the terrace, while the lower deck offers a swimming pool and an alfresco dining area. When you’re ready for a beach day, pack your towels and head down to Platanes Beach, where you’ll find golden sands and beachfront restaurants.

Sfakaki Bliss

This strikingly beautiful home is a luxurious Crete hideaway, surrounded by olive trees and manicured lawns. Outdoors, you can allow your troubles to melt away as you relax on the floating island sun beds. Grab your sunscreen and a good book to enjoy an afternoon soaking up the sunshine. If you aren’t sure what’s tickling your tastebuds for dinner, take some inspiration from the herb garden, vegetable patch and fruit trees, all waiting to help you create a delicious meal. When you are ready to rest your eyes, enjoy the serene feel of the bedroom decor. Neutral colours, golden accents and cosy bed runners ensure you can enjoy a restful night's sleep. 

In the morning, freshen up in your walk-in rainfall shower wrapped in marble tiles. Before your family wakes, you may even fancy enjoying your morning coffee tucked in your private balcony swing chair – just the spot to watch the sunrise. It’s all about the outside space for us here, so if you fancy a quiet day at home, the children's pool is attached to your private swimming pool, so you can rest easy knowing they are entertained. Relax on your sun lounger and watch on as they enjoy the cool water, their happy laughter the only sound punctuating the silence. As the sun begins to set on your day in paradise, look up at the blanket of stars above and enjoy the complete sense of peace this beautiful home affords.

Herb-Infused Hideaway

Perched only a kilometre away from the nearest beach and within walking distance of the local cafes and traditional taverns – this charming Cretan villa sets the scene for a serene holiday in the sunshine. On an expansive plot surrounded by olive trees, lawn areas, and a big variety of fruit trees, vegetables, and herb plants (which you're free to pick and cook with) – the Mediterranean setting here is what dreams are made of. 

Kick back, relax and disconnect from the rest of the world amidst a haven of peace. Whether that means you're lounging on the floating day beds in the private swimming pool, getting stuck into your holiday read in a shaded spot on the patio area, terrace or balcony – or perhaps you'll prefer to spend your time soaking up the villa's fabulous interiors. With contemporary chic designs found in each and every room, letting your cares and worries float free when staying here. The only constraint you'll encounter will be when it's time to leave. 





Float n' Fly 

Located in the sleepy village of Skouloufia, this relaxed villa boasts plenty of natural light and everything you need for a comfortable stay in Crete. After waking up in quiet bedrooms, pour yourself a coffee and plan the day’s agenda from the sofa, basking in the sunshine that streams through the clerestory windows. 

When hunger bites, call upon the help of a private chef to rustle up something tasty for breakfast. Dine together on the terrace before picking out a lounger to work on your tan. Should you need to cool off, plunge into the pool and float around in the refreshing water. 

If you’re a group who like to explore on holiday, embark on a walking tour arranged by your helpful host or jump in the car and take the short drive to the beach – it was one of our favourite places to watch the sunset.

Good Time

In Crete’s craggy, wild mountains, this set of villas enjoys an elevated spot looking over the hinterland towards the sea. You’re secluded and surrounded by nature here, yet it’s just a ten-minute drive to the buzzing beaches of Crete’s north coast and the vibrant resort town of Rethimno.

The scenery around you is a tapestry of olive groves and cacti-clad hills. Come sunset, the sky over the sea streaks purple and orange, and your spot on any of the rooftop terraces is the best place to watch this spectacle. Slip down to your villa's private swimming pool and swim laps in the morning and perhaps lunch in the shade of the curtained gazebo.

Accommodation is spread across four identical villas and inside each is a soothing combination of coffee and cream tones with sliding glass doors letting in plenty of natural light. From the balcony off each living room, you can gaze out over the landscape to the sea. Set up for the day in the big, dine-in kitchen and freshen up amidst stylish mosaic tiles in the bathrooms.

Joined At The Hip

When you have an Aegean Sea view at your disposal, it’s easy to while away the days. Located in the hills of Skouloufia, this 19th-century stone villa has been artfully renovated to offer everything you could dream of and then some more. With an ocean view, a storied building and a host of amenities you're guaranteed to make some memories. 

Inside, it’s easy to see the love that’s gone into renovating this home. Tall beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls hint at the home’s original character, whilst sleek furnishings and modern designs bring this home into the contemporary realm. The slick kitchen and dining room are a host’s dream – while away the evenings, socialising as you prepare a Greek-inspired dinner and share late-night conversations around the family-style table with a bottle of Vidiano. Each bedroom is comfortable and stylish – waking up to those views is a dreamy way to start each day – and since each bedroom has an en-suite complete with a rainfall shower, every member can wake up refreshed and raring to go. 

Start your day sipping fresh juice on the patio before lounging out poolside with your new summer read. Afternoons are best spent with a few cooling laps of your sparkling pool before igniting the barbecue for a flame-grilled Mediterranean feast on the upper terrace.

When you’re seeking sand, the Stavromenos is a short drive away or, if you’re seeking a cultural day out, make the drive to Rethymno – it’s less than thirty minutes away. This charming Venetian harbour invites you to explore its quaint cobbled streets and settle in at one of the seafront tavernas for a fresh seafood dinner.

Forged in Stone

Just thirteen kilometres from Rethymno, a stay here means you’re just a short drive from authentic Cretan cuisine whenever you fancy a meal out. That is if you can tear yourself away from this charming home, of course. Set on a small resort, while there is another home here, it won’t be in use at the same time as the villa, meaning you can enjoy exclusive use of the resort’s many amenities. So, will it be a swim in the pool, a workout in the gym, relaxing in the sauna or Jacuzzi, or practising yoga on the lawn? The choices are endless and all add up to a serene retreat from daily life. 

Boho Beams

Dazzling sea views await at this attractive and oh-so-convenient villa. It sits on the waterfront in Skaleta, with magnificent views of the Mediterranean Sea – to reach the beach you need only step through the garden gate. You’ll also have a private pool and terraces and patios from which to enjoy the views. Your host can provide child-friendly equipment for an additional fee, making travelling with little ones a touch easier. Two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room, which isn’t the most private, but they’ll have use of their own separate bathroom.
