For a modern escape to Greece, this villa is an excellent choice. It can be found just outside of Tinos town – a ten-minute walk is all it takes to reach the many bars, restaurants and shops of this lively hub. The well-loved beach at Agios Fokas is 500 metres away, so if you want to while away your stay on white sands, you can do so very easily indeed. 

You needn’t leave the villa for a dip though, as you’ll have your own private pool. Dive in first thing in the morning, and spend your days alternating between soaking up the gorgeous Greek sun and cooling off in the refreshing water. The villa looks out over the sea, with views stretching as far as Mykonos – this really is a lovely spot. When you need some shade, you can retire to the small patio or head inside.

The petite kitchen is ideal for whipping up a snack or mixing cocktails – if you’re anything like us, pre-dinner cocktails as you watch the sun set are a must for a holiday. If you fancy a day on the beach, then Paralia Megali Ammos is the closest – the sandy shoreline is only a four-minute drive away from your front door. The pretty windmills of Mykonos are a similar distance away, which you can visit before strolling through the charming streets of Chora. The island's capital also has plenty of restaurants serving up fresh seafood – feast on the catch of the day before you head to one of the famous bars for a cocktail.

This is one of our favourite spots on the island – although you're close to lively beaches and the nightlife town, you'll still enjoy plenty of peace and privacy.

When you're not wandering the pretty lanes in Mykonos Town, swimming in the Aegean Sea or exploring the rest of the island, relax on the private terrace and drink in the incredible views. Afternoons call for floating in the pool and soaking up the rays on the lounge chairs, while evenings are best spent on the outdoor sofas, sipping cocktails and watching the sunset. The interior is an ideal haven after a long, hot day in the sun, thanks to the bright and breezy design and coastal colour scheme. It really is no wonder that this thoughtfully designed home has a clutch of architecture awards and has been featured in a host of international magazines, including Dezeen – we can see why. Situated on the ridge of Aleomandra and facing the stunning Aegean, the views over the neighbouring island of Delos are gorgeous, and the sunsets here are legendary. 

Almost entirely hidden from view, this home has an exclusive setting. Sitting behind hand-built stone walls dug from the site – there's a traditional island vernacular palette of materials such as lime-wash, stone, and wood. 

This home has been designed for laid-back summer living – lounge by the infinity pool or enjoy some cocktails in one of the many stylish seating areas. Neolithic-like standing stones support chestnut-wood pergolas casting beautiful shadows and giving shelter from the hot Mykonos sun. The rough-hewn boulders are a recurring feature, anchoring this home in the landscape – you'll find them scattered inside this villa and around the pool. We particularly love the ones that form stepping stones through the shallow water to the main outdoor living area.

Inside, you'll find large soft grey sofas, shelves of plants, curvaceous vases and ceramic sculptures and an elegant Boffi kitchen with Gaggenau home appliances (your host can arrange a private chef for you). There's also a techno-gym room and a private gallery space, no less. This place is primed for entertaining – they even have their own summer-inspired playlist for the sound system.
