With huge windows and glass doors running along the walls, the home is spoilt when it comes to natural light and this plentiful asset is only accentuated more by the cleansingly white walls, floors and ceilings. Save for some Scandi-inspired wood surfaces, most of the furnishings are similarly muted in colour, which makes for an instantly relaxing atmosphere.

If things get a little too sedate, however, all you have to do is head out into the outdoor space and splash about in the swimming pool or light up the barbecue ahead of an alfresco banquet. When the sun starts to set, head up to one of the balconies to watch the sky change colour over the Ionian Sea.

When the coastal panorama proves too tempting, you can walk down to Akrotiri Beach in less than a quarter of an hour. The restaurants and museums of Zakynthos Town are only five minutes' drive away, too.

You're greeted by the azure waters of the Ionian out through many of the bedroom windows in this villa close to the northern coastline of Zakynthos and you can get a closer peek from the terrace, which is a lovely spot for catching the sunset. Inside, this isn't one of the more characterful homes in our collection when it comes to interior design, but the excellent proximity to an array of beaches and Zakynthos Town means we're willing to overlook this anonymity.

Each bedroom features a view of the ocean or the garden, meaning everyone is happy with the sleeping arrangements. And although we wouldn’t blame you for staying at home the entire time, nearby you’ll find the home of famed poet Dionysios Solomos, perfect for literature buffs. For everyone else, the nearest beach is just over half a kilometre away.

The Archangel

Set on a hillside, surrounded with olive and cypress trees, this impressive stone villa is split into four apartments – yours being the largest and most modern. Sharing a vast amount of outdoor space, you'll have a private section of the terrace where you can take in the incredible views over breakfast each morning and a shared pool that's surrounded by lawns dotted with sun loungers and parasols.

From this rather special spot you can gaze out across the lush forests to the nearby villages and all the way to Zakynthos Town and the sea – it feels as though the whole island is laid out before you. Set in beautiful gardens and boasting an exceptional outdoor kitchen – shared among the apartments – it's the kind of place where you'll want to eat outdoors and take in the views at every meal. The show even continues into the night as the sun goes down and the island's lights begin to glimmer.

Inside, it's a comfortable and surprisingly modern space with room for four in the two bedrooms – and sofa beds for a further two in the living room. There's a well kitted-out kitchen and smart, fresh decor. Within easy reach of all the island's best beaches and tourist spots, yet inland enough to feel remote and peaceful, it's a great choice.

Horizon Point

Nestled in a valley of vineyards and olive groves, this tranquil country house estate, just a ten-minute drive away from Tsilivi Beach, offers an authentic taste of Zakynthos. It is set in the historic village of Agios Kyrykos, which boasts strong ties to some of the island's best wineries. The estate itself also has an impressive wine heritage, having harvested one of the most popular grape varieties within the region for the best part of two centuries. We recommend popping by the village for a bottle of the good stuff, best enjoyed perched by the pool at sunset, glass in hand, gazing out to the fruit trees kissing the horizon. 

Though reminiscent of classic manor houses, the villa is newly-built, offering modern interiors with enough space to accommodate eight guests. In the lounge, floor-to-ceiling doors open up to the glorious sundeck, which offers a pool and hydro-massage, as well as a barbecue and a large dining table – perfect for alfresco dining. Perhaps the star of the show, though, is the home's heavenly views of the natural landscape, spanning uninterrupted as far as the eye can see. 

Poet's Vineyard

There’s not much better than lazing on a sun lounger and feeling the balmy breeze on your face, is there? This hilltop villa is surrounded by lush olive groves and offers incredible panoramas of the entire island of Zakynthos. A dip in the pool comes with a side of sea views, enhanced by the inviting aroma of the orange and lemon trees planted around the property. 
The kitchen boasts views of the Ionian Sea, while the veranda – an ideal spot for dinner – showcases the natural beauty of the island. The first-floor bedrooms all have a balcony, so you can drink in the vista from the moment you wake up. 

Make the most of the enviable location by booking a day of sailing. Take in Zakynthos’ majestic coastline from the water, and perhaps find a quiet cove where you can enjoy a picnic lunch. If you prefer to stay on terra firma, the villa is a mere 1.5km from Bochali, one of the most picturesque parts of the island, and home to a gorgeous harbour.

There are plenty of beaches within striking distance, but our favourite is Tsilivi, the second largest on the island. The white sand and crystal clear waters are just a ten-minute drive away from the villa, so you can be back in plenty of time to fire up the barbecue. 


Olive Grove Hill

Stylish and spacious, this home is ideal for large groups. It’s in a peaceful setting close to Zakynthos Town, yet is tucked away amid vineyards so feels a million miles from the hustle and bustle. The outside space is centred around the seasonally-heated pool, with comfortable loungers around it and plenty of room for gathering together with pre-dinner cocktails – the fire pit is perfect. There’s an open-air spa for relaxing, and children can tire themselves out in their own play area. You’ll need a car to get around, but the beaches are only a short drive away. 

Thalia's Cottage

Having first opened its doors to guests in July 2020, this home has since grown exponentially in popularity due to its spectacularly sought-after location on the island of Zakynthos, home to breathtaking views, sugar-fine, sandy beaches, and crystalline, turquoise water. The villa itself is no exception to the island's allure, boasting beautifully decorated rooms, fresh, open spaces, a private pool with sunken fire pit, high-tech barbecue and outdoor dining area, library, private spa room, rooftop bar, and multi-court for sports. 

Spend your days in complete relaxation, lounging by the pool with a refreshing glass of Retsina in hand and some delicious skewers on the barbecue. Unwind in the private spa room with a luxurious massage, which can be provided by the host for an additional fee. Finish off the perfect day with a candle-lit, alfresco dining experience before cuddling up in the sunken fire pit seating area for toasted marshmallows and stargazing.

On days when exploration piques your interest, we highly recommend a visit to Paralia Krioneri beach, just a twelve-minute drive from the villa, for a truly unforgettable beach day. Or for those with children, Zante Water Village is only a short fifteen-minute walk away.

Apollo's Rest

Located on the lush green island of Zakynthos – and with direct access to the sea – this unique villa is a great choice for a family getaway or holiday with friends. The home has been decorated in neutral tones and is spread across two levels with no lift access – so may not be suitable for individuals with reduced mobility. Guests are free to use the gym equipment and will benefit from a fully equipped kitchen area, as well as brick-built BBQ facilities for alfresco dining. We love the ocean views this villa offers, as well as the private infinity pool – complete with a hydromassage feature. We recommend hiring a car for your stay so you can explore the island with ease.

Surrounded by fruit trees and olive groves, days at this villa are meant to be spent outside in the sunshine. Whether you prefer a morning swim or a midnight dip under the stars, the pool is the perfect place to cool off and relax. Enjoy an afternoon stroll through the grounds, collecting fresh eggs for breakfast, picking vegetables from the garden and taking the kids to meet the animals on the seasonal hobby farm. When you crave a seaside day, hop in the car and drive ten minutes to Laganas Beach or for a daytime excursion, rent a boat and visit the caves on Marathonisi Island. Lively Zante Town is only fifteen minutes by car if you're in the mood for nightclubs, gourmet eateries and sightseeing – although there are plenty of tavernas and beachfront restaurants nearby if you're not up for a drive.
