Some holidays are all about relaxing. This beautiful villa is the perfect choice if you want to focus on R&R – you’re almost guaranteed to leave here feeling totally blissed out. 

The villa is a pretty, calm space to call home. You’ll love the warm decor and how comfortable it is. Of course, you’ll likely be spending most of your time outside, revelling in the gorgeous sunshine. You’ll wake up with the sun streaming onto your pillow, tempting you outside. Perhaps you’ll dive right into your private pool, or maybe you’ll sip a cup of coffee first. The enclosed terrace is a lovely spot for alfresco dining – in the evenings we’d definitely be firing up the barbecue and preparing a feast of fresh, local seafood. 

A secluded beach can be reached via a path down a nearby cliff. Its clear turquoise waters are perfect for snorkelling. The soft sand and warm, shallow waters of Gerakas Beach, meanwhile, are perfect for children. It’s just a ten-minute walk away, and best of all, it’s a turtle-nesting beach. Time your visit right and you’ll have a holiday memory to treasure forever.

We recommend having a car here to discover all the area has to offer – there’s free parking as well.

This pretty stone villa overlooks the ocean on the idyllic island of Zakynthos. It’s a leisurely twenty-minute stroll to the beach at Kaminia or an easy four-minute drive. If you fancy a night on the town, Zakynthos Town buzzes to life after sunset and is just a ten-minute drive away.

Back at the villa you’ve got plenty to keep you occupied. Like the glittering swimming pool on the huge terrace looking out over the Aegean. Our favourite spot out here has to be the suspended day bed, swathed with curtains. You’ve also got a covered veranda for alfresco dining and a second terrace upstairs with a chi chi chaise longue if you want to live out your romance novel fantasies.

The interior feels grand yet rustic with exposed stone walls at every turn and an old stone fireplace in the living room. Tufted leather armchairs, mini chandeliers and hand-carved wardrobes add the decadence. The master suite is fairytale-esque with stone archways framing glowing candelabra and satin curtains cascading from the four-poster bed. We love the vintage design touches that complement wooden ceilings throughout – a rotary phone here, a steam-punk sink there.

This stunning home in Kalamaki is an excellent base for luxurious escapes in Zakynthos. The villa is impossibly cool, with a minimalist style and an open-plan living space that lends itself to socialising. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors showcase the 180-degree view of the bay, which can also be admired from each of the four en-suite bedrooms. The terrace is a splendid spot for alfresco dining, and even for an early-morning yoga session before a dip in the private pool. This villa is bound to impress. 

The Oracle Keeper

Just a short walk from the pretty village of Keri Lake, famous for its stunning nearby sea caves and the turtles that nest on its beach, this new, stone-built villa is the perfect combination of modern luxury and a green, natural setting. Overlooking the sea and set in beautiful grounds with mature trees, lawns and terraces, it's the ideal space if you're looking to stay in this quiet part of the island.

Inside, it's spacious and cool, with natural tones, tiled floors and vaulted ceilings. The open-plan living area has comfy sofas, an extremely well kitted out kitchen and a dining space, with huge sliding doors that open it right up to the incredible pool terrace. Here you can swim in the crystal-clear infinity pool with uninterrupted views of the sea and the rocky islands offshore.

But while the pool is this home's star attraction, it's far from the only thing we love about it. There's a hot tub to relax in and a children's play area to keep smaller guests entertained, along with an outdoor yoga area (we're imagining sun salutations with superb sea views) and a fabulous outdoor kitchen where you can barbecue every evening if you feel like it.

There's plenty to do in the area too, and you can easily hire a boat to visit the caves and the nearby lighthouse for perfect snorkelling and unbelievable sunsets. 



The Eye of Dardanus

One of a collection of recently built villas on the outskirts of Zakynthos Town, this is contemporary Greek living at its finest.

With huge windows and glass doors running along the walls, the home is spoilt when it comes to natural light and this plentiful asset is only accentuated more by the cleansingly white walls, floors and ceilings. When the coastal panorama proves too tempting, you can walk down to Akrotiri Beach in less than a quarter of an hour. The restaurants and museums of Zakynthos Town are only five minutes' drive away, too.

Just bear in mind that this home is part of a development, so you may hear some noise from the neighbours during your stay.
