Days here call for relaxing, recharging and relishing the scenery. Start your morning with coffee and a delicious breakfast on the terrace. After a refreshing dip in the pool, sprawl out on the lounge chairs with a glass of wine and a good book. When it's time for supper, fire up the barbecue and dine alfresco, admiring the ocean-front sunsets and starry skies before making your way inside. We love how bright and open the interior is, and with a slew of contemporary comforts like rainfall showers, a Playstation system and a crackling fireplace, you'll feel right at home in no time. As an added bonus, there'll even be a buffet of Croatian treats waiting for you on arrival – a much-needed treat after a long flight or drive.

And the location is pretty excellent, too. Whether you're keen on rafting down the Cetina River or swimming in the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic, there's plenty to get up to nearby. Omiš' array of restaurants, waterfront eateries and cultural activities are just a five-minute drive away, and the beach is even closer – Bostoji's sand-covered shore is walkable in ten.

Adriatic Feeling

If you’re a fan of Harry Potter or Game of Thrones, you’ll recognise some of the scenery near this almost literally fantastic home. But this vision in glass and stone is very real, even if it resembles a mirage. Inside, you’ll find tasteful furniture, selected for its comfort and design, in an open-plan living area with a state-of-the-art kitchen and breakfast bar – perfect for rustling up home-prepared meals. You can dine on the grand indoor table or in the shaded lounge area outside, which also boasts its own summer kitchen. Polished floor tiles decorate the throughout and are reflected in the glass walls that surround the terrace and staircase, ensuring that you’re always aware of the stunning 360-degree views of the Dalmatian Coast, the Adriatic and the mountains. All four bedrooms have enormous beds with sumptuous linens and en suite bathing and showering, plus beautiful wooden floors and high-end furnishings. Outside, the fragrance of lavender, wild herbs and olives emanate from the hillside. The swimming pool – which has hydromassage and a geyser – is large and is bordered by an expansive sun deck with 10 luxury loungers and an outdoor shower. You’re unlikely to want to tear yourself away from all this luxury, but there’s a lot to do in the village of Omir – boutiques, quality restaurants and bars await. You’ll want to take a short walk to the beach, where there are many activities to keep the kids happy. Discover the wildlife-rich national park, an observatory and many other villages and towns worth exploring nearby. This beautiful villa is real show-stopper. High ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and a neutral colour palette mean that it’s bright and airy, the perfect space to chill out in when the temperature is rising. Outside you’ll find a gorgeous pool, which you can gaze upon from the balcony – if you can tear your eyes away from the view of the sea, that is. 

You’ll wake up feeling refreshed from a good night’s sleep – the beds are oh so comfortable. Maybe you’ll whip up a breakfast of fresh fruit and local bread with honey, and take it out to the terrace. As you tuck in, you can plan your day – will you laze by the pool and soak up the sunshine all day? Or perhaps you’ll head to the beach? Brodarica beach is a fourteen-minute walk away and is one of many on this stretch of the coast. In the evening, fire up the barbecue and enjoy feasts on the terrace while the sun is setting. 

After a few days spent sunbathing, swimming and sipping wine, you might be rested enough to explore further afield. Šibenik is a beautiful city, one of the oldest on the Adriatic – it’s just eleven minutes away by car. Meander the narrow streets and admire the cathedral – it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
