This historic Trulli home has a multi-generational family stay written all over it. Beneath the conical ceilings of the main house, you'll find three bedrooms, including a main suite complete with a private living area and en-suite that feels like its own apartment. There's also a self-contained annexe for two with a kitchenette and charming alfresco patio – perfect for morning cuppas. Location-wise, the Adriatic coast and the postcard-perfect town of Ostuni are all within a half-hour drive. Or, stay closer to home in the nearby baroque town of Martina Franca – its café-lined piazzas and grand palazzos offer an authentic taste of local Puglia life.

Trulli Garden Harmony

Set across a series of traditional trulli, this home is full of rustic character. The exposed limestone walls and classic conical roofs make each trullo feel like a cosy cocoon – perfect to retreat to after a day spent exploring. Step out to the garden to discover two sunny swimming pools, space to cook and eat together, and a hot tub overlooking the scenic surroundings. It’s worth noting that if twelve of you are travelling, two will sleep on sofa beds. But we think that’s a minor compromise to stay in such a special spot.

The Village Sun

Find peace and relaxation in the Puglian countryside with a stay in this home. Set within a private six-hectare estate, the contemporary house sits alongside a collection of traditional trulli – creating a wonderful sense of character. Outside, you’ll be treated to a heated saltwater pool, a sound system, a barbecue area and two stone gazebos for alfresco dining. You can also enjoy access to a gym, a massage room, a padel tennis court and a shared organic garden. We recommend hiring a car to get around here, but it’s just a short drive to Cisternino, Ostuni and the beaches along the coast.

The town of Fasano is just a ten-minute drive away, and is a charming place to spend an afternoon before dining at one of the local pizzerias. And, with Ottagono Beach just twenty minutes away, you can swim in the Adriatic Sea and chill out on the sand.

Nestled among the trees of the Itria Valley, you’ll find the rooms are spread across two independent buildings – making this a great option for groups looking to stretch out and enjoy quality time together. Mid-stay housekeeping is included and your host can arrange grocery deliveries for an additional fee. From here, days can be spent lounging by the private pool or out exploring this beautiful region. You will need a car to get around, but it’s just a ten-minute drive to Cisternino, while the nearest beaches are thirty minutes away. 

Tales from the Trullo

No doubt about it, this idyllic Itria Valley home is pure Puglian perfection. Comprising carefully restored Trulli – traditional dry-stone structures with a conical roof – along with contemporary architectural additions, this authentic home oozes character and charm as well as sophistication and style. Featuring an open-plan kitchen, dining and living space – think whitewashed walls, awesome archways and cool tiled floors – as well as two beautifully serene bedrooms, this heavenly home is perfect for a couple of couples or family group seeking some good old-fashioned R & R. Occupying a tucked-away and tranquil spot and surrounded by gorgeous greenery, this wonderfully white home boasts spaces fit for socialising as well as seclusion.

Laze on loungers in the sun or luxuriate in your private, outdoor pool. Prepare family favourites on the white worktops in the kitchen before dining alfresco on the poolside terrace. Treat yourself to an afternoon snooze or seek the calm of the colourful courtyard. Find a quiet place to sit and read a book on the banquette seating in the sitting room or relax with a glass of local wine on the sofa. Round off a romantic day with time spent in the master bedroom’s free-standing tub.

If you fancy a little light exploration, you’ll find you’re a ten-minute drive away from both the Valley towns of Locorotondo and Cisternino. Set off on scenic walks or cycle routes or venture a little further and discover iconic Ostuni – also known as ‘The White City’ – famous for its 15th-century Gothic cathedral.

It’s just a five-minute drive from beautiful Alberobello, and looks out over a quiet valley – the views are dreamy. This home is spread between two trulli, so you won’t all be sleeping under the same roof. You’ll have plenty of space to gather together, though, especially outside. Lounge beside the private pool or dine alfresco on the patio. There’s a great mix of sun and shade, and the cosy trulli, with their stone walls, are calm and comfortable. 

A Hillside Affair

Squirrelled away in the sun-baked Puglia countryside, yet just a short drive to the picturesque beaches of Torre Canne, this home is the perfect rural escape. Made up of two separate independent apartments (sleeping four guests in each) and offering private outdoor Jacuzzis and shady terraces, it’s an excellent choice for a couple of families looking to holiday together without crowding each other. When it’s time to all get together, the terraces and alfresco dining areas have room for you all to gather on balmy nights.

If you’re anything like us, you’ll spend most of your time in the heated salt-water pool or dining alfresco in the summer kitchen. Your host can arrange yoga classes and massages on the pavilion, in addition to gourmet dinners – it’s practically impossible to feel stressed here. 

Brigata

This limestone trulli house, with its conical roof, is particular to the region of Puglia, so where better to stay on a trip to the heel of southern Italy? Set in five acres of land, with ancient olive groves and fruit trees, there are many seating areas to choose from, whether you are enjoying a breakfast of fresh Italian fruit, eating a barbecued dinner or knocking back a sundowner. The sleek pool is the perfect spot to cool off from the summer heat, while inside a traditional wood-burning stove will keep you warm on chilly evenings. 

Conical Roof

You'll make fabulous memories for life with a stay at this charming estate in Puglia. Nestled in the countryside, the two traditional Trullo houses share a fabulous outdoor space, and provide plenty of room for your whole group to kick back and relax.

There are plenty of original features inside, from the arched ceilings to the wooden beams and exposed stone walls. However, your host has made sure that 21st-century guests will be right at home here, with plenty of modern conveniences. The outdoor space is similarly stunning – flop down on the sofa to enjoy the shade, make a splash in the swimming pool, or catch some rays on a lounger. Budding chefs will be delighted by the summer kitchen, where you can cook up a storm to serve at the alfresco dining area – don't forget the prosecco. 

Adventurers can head into the Bosco Delle Pianelle, a beautiful nature reserve that is just five minutes away by car. There you can hike through the glorious forest landscapes, and admire the views across Puglia. The town of Locorotondo is just a ten-minute drive away, where you'll find stunning white-washed buildings and a selection of fabulous restaurants serving local fare. It's one of the most popular towns in the area, and for good reason – the relaxed atmosphere and sense of history are sure to charm you. 

Pop Open the Prosecco

With its conical rooftops and exposed stone, this trullo captures the original charm of Puglia.
