And, while the main bedroom is on a mezzanine and the third guest will be on the single sofa bed in the living room – meaning privacy is limited – for a short city break, there's a lot to be said for it. When we came across this three-story townhouse, it immediately caught our attention. Set in the heart of the old town, with the Basilica of San Nicola and the Castello Svevo just a short walk away and endless cafes, bars, and restaurants to choose from, you truly have it all at your fingertips. Set across three floors, with a private rooftop terrace offering views over the surrounding scenery, an outdoor kitchen and shared beach access, there's a lot to love about it. Just bear in mind that the internal staircase is not for the faint of heart – especially if you're travelling with lots of luggage in tow.

This home made it into our collection for its sea views. Located in the historic port town of Giovinazzo, you’re just a stone’s throw from the water. While the private balcony here may be narrow, it’s the perfect spot for relaxing with a glass of Prosecco and taking in the ocean vistas. Inside, you’ll find everything you need for a fuss-free stay, although with only one bathroom, you might have to join the queue for a shower in the morning. You’re well placed for daytrips here too, with the coastal towns of Molfetta, Barletta, and Bari all within easy driving distance.

We love the dining areas, where you can tuck into yummy tortellini all together, and the dreamy lounge where you can enjoy some limoncello and late-night conversation.

Outside is even more impressive, with a stunning private pool that you can cool off in, plus plenty of poolside loungers where you can lay back, relax and let your mind clear.
