But, when it comes to the bedrooms, you’ll find an elegant space, each boasting an en-suite. The cherry on the cake for us though is the private terrace. It's just the spot for sipping limoncello or fine wine, with glimpses of the sea to tempt you out to explore. And with the beaches, Corso Italia, Piazza Tasso, and the harbour within walking distance, you’ll never be lost for things to do.

You can sit back and relax on the private terrace and there’s plenty of space inside to socialise and stretch out. It’s worth noting some of the furnishings are a little dated, but it’s a great option for families and groups in search of simplicity and ease in a fantastic location. Outside, you can stroll to restaurants, cafes and shops. It’s also a great base for exploring nearby Pompeii and the Amalfi coast.

Location-wise, you're in the heart of Sorrento, just a short walk from the beach. The interiors are a little basic for our liking, but it's modern and there's a dedicated workspace. Plus, the freestanding tub is the perfect place to relax after busy days spent travelling.

There's realistically only one thing we can start with when talking about this home and that's the gorgeous view of the Gulf of Naples that lies out of the main living area's huge window. Thankfully, these French doors open wide and the balcony lets you take in the coastal panorama with the sunlight on your skin. If you're still in need of another vantage point, guests also get access to a communal roof terrace with some seating on which to clink glasses while the sun sets in the background.

Right, enough about the scenery, because the apartment itself deserves some praise. There's an elegant simplicity to the design, with the whitewashed walls working well with the ample amounts of natural light, plus a minimalist kitchen ready and waiting for Italian feasts. We also like the ceramics collection arranged in alcoves in the hallways, which pay homage to the region's culture and heritage in chic fashion.

As you can tell by looking out the window, you don't have to venture far to find the beach – as a matter of fact, Spiaggia di San Montano is only 200 metres away. There are a few bars and restaurants in the local area, but for a wider choice along with some magnificent historic architecture, Sorrento is just a short drive away up the coastline.

If you prefer to relax at home, there’s a small terrace with a table and chairs. Inside, we love the colourful interiors, especially the cactus-themed en-suite. This place would suit a family as the single bedroom is off the main bedroom and also at full capacity, two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed. Otherwise, this is an ideal apartment for your Italian escape.

We don't know what we love more – this apartment's colourful design or its spot on the bustling Corso Italia. All the must-haves and must-sees are within easy reach here, from restaurants and landmarks like Piazza Tasso to Sorrento's picturesque port. Inside, the living area features quirky chevron floors and lime and blue tiles inspired by the sea. A sofa bed can accommodate a fifth guest, but we think this pad is best for four. It's also on the second floor, so expect to climb a few stairs – all worth it for the central location.

While there's no doubt we love the location, what we love even more is this home's array of outdoor spaces. The private garden's Jacuzzi is fantastic for unwinding, and the terrace's outdoor sofa and alfresco dining table are ideal for sundowners after supper. And though some parts inside are a tad dated, there's plenty of space for families and friends, even with a sofa bed for two.

Right by the coast, this cosy apartment is perfect for a couple's retreat. The bathtub in the living area takes some getting used to, but you can't deny that its panoramas are fantastic, especially the glimpse of Capri. In fact, the vistas from every room are stunning, though we think the small balcony takes the cake for the best viewpoint. When it comes to views, this home just outside Massa Lubrense doesn't disappoint. Whether in the pool or sipping on cocktails on the terraces, you can gaze out across the Gulf of Naples and Capri Island here. Or perhaps you want to catch the sunset as you dine alfresco with a meal rustled up in the outdoor kitchen. If you're a full house, the living room may get crowded with four guests on sofa beds. But we don't think you'll mind – you'll still find plenty of room to yourselves with an ensuite in every bedroom and lots of space to unwind outside.

Inside, the living space is just as sun-kissed as the exterior, with each bedroom offering access to the terrace. The third also has convient zip-and-link beds to suit both friends and families. Location-wise, you're a bit further from the centre here but still within easy reach of shops, restaurants, and landmarks. There’s also a private pool and plenty of lounging spots, while the cool interior makes it easy to switch off after a day in the sun. Each of the bedrooms has direct access to the garden and there are en-suite bathrooms – adding a wonderful sense of privacy.
