What this home may lack in style, it makes up for in location. Nestled in the hills of Moneglia, it commands views across the bay and is well-connected by train to Genoa and the coastal villages of the Cinque Terre. Admire the views from a lounger on the terrace, or head down to the pool, which stays relatively shady and cool thanks to the surrounding trees. The furnishings are a little dated, but at least there are sea views in the upper bedrooms, while the large sliding glass doors mean you're never far away from a sunny seat. Plus, the glass dining table comfortably seats your entire group, so you can also enjoy meals together – that's if you don't wander into Moneglia to try one of the restaurants on the palm-tree-lined streets.

You can watch all the nautical action unfold from your bougainvillea-clad balcony. While the coastal-themed interiors are charming, they will feel dated for some. The bedroom layouts are a little quirky, too, with the main bedroom sleeping three and the final single bed tucked away in the hallway.
