Much of the house dates back to the 19th century, with an even older Medieval section inside, and there's a sense of history in every corner. However, that's not to say that it's old-fashioned – the host has carefully selected a fresh colour scheme and provided plenty of modern conveniences to enjoy. Recently renovated, the home is a brand new barn conversion with its own spacious garden, swimming pool and outdoor lounge areas. The barn was designed to transition with the changing seasons in mind, and so feels light and airy during the warm summer months, yet warm and cosy come winter. Light up the log fire burner in the humble living room when it's cold and open up the floor-to-ceiling windows to let the fresh air in when it's hot. The open-plan living area will ensure a sociable stay from the inside, while the large terrace with a dining table and chairs serve perfectly for those long summer evenings of dining alfresco. There is also a relaxing corner under the pergola, where you can lounge around come day or night – it's the perfect spot to find some shade or watch the sunset. With Turin just an hours drive away, you're secluded and out of the action at this retreat in Sanico, however, feel rest assured that you're not too far away from the city's sights should you wish to explore further afield. 



Over the Rolling Hills

You'll find that there's an innate tranquillity to this home in the middle of the Piedmont countryside. How best to enjoy this peace and quiet? Well, the swimming pool will be the obvious choice during the warmer months, but there are plenty of equally pleasant spots out in the garden or under the pergola.

If the temperature ever takes a dip at any point, the table in the conservatory still gives you the opportunity to watch the world go by, while there's also an open-hearth fireplace to light up once the sun's gone down. This rather traditional source of warmth is in keeping with the home's rustic style, as seen with the exposed stonework and country-style kitchen.

Although you're more than welcome to never leave the address during your stay, the closest town, Vesime, takes five minutes to reach in the car and offers an outdoor swimming pool and a castle to explore. The city of Acqui Terme is half an hour's drive, too.

What The Heart Wants

This is a charming, renovated property located on top of a hill in the San Bernardo district. The property comprises three apartments and is situated in the countryside, 6 km from the centre of Narzole, 3 km from the centre of Bene Vagienna and 10 km from the centre of Cherasco. The cottage offers a large living/dining room with an open-hearth fireplace, satellite TV and antique furnishings. There is also a spacious kitchen with all necessary amenities, including an oven, dishwasher and electric coffee machine. The upper floor has three bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, while the lower floor has one bedroom with a double bed and en-suite bathroom. Guests can enjoy panoramic views from the terrace and garden furniture is provided for al fresco dining. Other amenities include a shared swimming pool (seasonal availability: 23.Mar - 05.Nov.), bicycles for guests to use and parking on premises.

The property features a shared garden, a swimming pool, and outdoor amenities such as a barbecue grill and garden furniture. Guests can also take advantage of the bicycles available for use on the premises. The villa features antique furnishings and tasteful decor throughout, including large living spaces with open-hearth fireplaces and satellite TV. There are nine rooms in total, each with its own shower/WC. Other amenities include a large kitchen with modern appliances, heating and air conditioning, free WiFi, and garage parking for up to three cars. Please note that this property is non-smoking only and group bookings are available upon request.

The bedroom set up won’t suit everyone – at full occupancy three guests will be sleeping on sofa beds within two of the bedrooms – and the traditional decor won’t be to everyone’s tastes, but we think this home will suit a family or group of friends looking for a place with character. Location-wise, you’re a few minutes’ drive from the Royal Castle of Racconigi – a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and for daytrips, the city of Turin is thirty minutes away.
