If you're looking for a relaxing stay in the heart of the gorgeous Apulia region, then this ground-floor villa is certainly a great choice. You'll have dining and lounge space out on your covered terrace, along with far-reaching views of the surrounding area from the garden. Inside, soft neutral tones and modern furnishings keep things comfortable and calming. The villa is shared with residents on the upper floor, however, privacy is not a problem here. Location-wise, it's a ten-minute drive to the nearest town of Fasano, while the beach is just twenty minutes from your villa. Other highlights include Monopoli (17km away) and Polignano a Mare (24km away) – both are beautiful destinations and well worth visiting.

Perfect for a pair, this pocket-sized pad is in the heart of Fasano. Step outside and straight onto the white-washed lanes, where local eateries, shops, and all the must-haves await. The coast is just a short drive away when you fancy a beach day – just note that parking in this central area is a bit tricky. Back home, we love the architectural details, such as stone archways and vaulted ceilings. It feels cosy and charming, if a bit compact. A third guest could kip on a fold-out bed, but we think it's best for two.

A twenty-minute drive from Puglia’s Adriatic beaches, this villa embraces the region’s traditional architecture. Perched up on a terraced hill, a patchwork of olive groves, rust-red earth and fields stretches before you as the Adriatic shimmers in the sunshine. The outdoor space is a dream, with a tennis court hanging off the hillside, a bocce bowling green and a huge swimming pool for a cooling dip. There are various outdoor lounges and dining areas for meals and drinks in the sun, and a full outdoor kitchen so every step of the meal prep can be done alfresco. 

Bedrooms are spread across four Trulli houses –stone dwellings with pointed roofs like witches’ hats. The indoor social space is designed like your own personal taverna, in a separate building. There’s a bar, full kitchen, comfy sofas around a fireplace and even a piano for a sing-song of an evening. About fifty metres from the garden there’s a 15th-century church that you can visit, or perhaps hop in the car and take advantage of the restaurants and shops of Fasano (a ten-minute drive away).

This cluster of Trulli homes is like a fairytale illustration come to life. Each bone-white stone structure is home to a separate bedroom, kitchen and living room, with the outside space connecting them all together. Inside, comfy beds are nestled in archways and circular rooms have bare stone walls for an authentic feel. There’s no shortage of mod-cons though, with flatscreen TVs and desks for remote working if you need.

Really, though, this place was made for outdoor living, making the most of the sunny climes of Italy’s heel. There’s a full outdoor kitchen with a traditional stone bread oven, and myriad places to dine in the sun or shade – the choice is yours. Seats in the shade of ancient olive trees provide a moment’s respite. But the piece de resistance has to be the covered hot tub, surrounded by sun loungers to dry off after.

The location is a boon too, just outside the centre of one of Puglia’s prettiest towns – Locorotondo. A cluster of white medieval churches makes up the historic hilltop centre, where winding cobbled streets are filled with family-run trattoria and slow-food eateries. The UNESCO town of Ostuni is also within day-trip distance if you have a car.

Few things are better than living in this restored trullo – a traditional Puglian limestone hut with a conical roof. Although a drive to the coast takes less than twenty-minutes, you’ll probably be so lost in the comforts of this home that you end up spending most of your time here. Mealtimes in the dining area and outside by the trees always feel like such a treat – rustle up a meal and sit down to breakfast as you share in the holiday joy with friends and family. When the sun starts to set, fire up the grill and tuck into a candlelit dinner. A night swim and a moment under the stars with a glass of Barolo will send you off to bed with the sweetest dreams.

For a stay in an extraordinary home, this trulli complex is an astonishing piece of rural architecture, renovated in a way that respects the original stone design while providing some modern comforts. As romantic as it gets, it's surrounded by its own vineyards, olive groves and cherry trees (the fruit of which you’re free to pick in the summer). Spend your days idling by the private pool, strolling through the grapevines and exploring the Apulian countryside. It may not be part of the trulli UNESCO World Heritage Site at Alberobello, but it's cut from the same cloth and just a fifteen-minute drive away.

This expansive home is more of a compound than a villa, with enough room for the whole group and more to enjoy this Southern Italian dream. If you'd prefer, you could fire up the outdoor industrial kitchen and channel your inner Nigella Lawson. With so much to explore in this villa, we'd understand if you never wanted to leave. But the scintillating Southern Italian coast will start calling soon enough. It's about a fifteen-minute drive to the port town of Savelletri, which is teeming with coves, caves, bays, and beaches to explore. When you want to stretch your legs you'll love strolling around the whitewashed town, and you mustn't leave without trying its famous seafood.

Although the location feels wonderfully tranquil, the nearest town of Alberobello — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — only takes five minutes to reach in the car, while there are seafood restaurants aplenty in the port town of Savelletri only half an hour's drive away.
