Just steps away from Rome's Termini train station, this apartment is in a really convenient location. The Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the Roman Forum, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps are all within walking distance too. There’s also a range of pizzerias, trattorias and cafes surrounding this home which has an open-plan living space with a modern kitchen. This room also sleeps two guests on a sofa bed when needed – the apartment is perfect for a city break.

Roman Gold Leaf

The seven-minute walk to the Colosseum from this bijou apartment is lined with centuries-old churches and family-run pizzerias. Surrounded by ancient buildings and architecture, there’s no doubt you’re in the old centre here. Just beyond the Colosseum, you’ll find the sprawling ruins of the Roman Forum a ten-minute walk away. 

Within the apartment, you’ve got a calming haven of traditional furnishings and gold trim. The front door opens straight into the living room, where there’s a little collection of books for a holiday read. The cute, provincial-tiled kitchen is tucked away in one corner and there’s room to dine in here too. It’s the bedrooms that really grabbed us here though, with their hand-painted pastel murals of the Italian countryside above both beds. The little sit-outery with its bistro set that catches the sun in the morning isn’t a bad spot either. 

Walk Like a Tiger

An ode to 1960s Italian cool, this studio apartment blends elegant vintage decor with modern stylings to create a space that feels like you’ve stepped straight into a Fellini film. 

We love the old-school design elements here, from the beamed ceilings in the dining area to the vintage sound system and retro colour palette. The feature wall in the bedroom adds warmth and character to the bright and comfortable space, combining groovy 60s patterns in a bold 21st-century way. After waking up to views of the neighbourhood’s rooftops, hop under the bathroom’s rainfall shower for a luxurious soak before catching up on any work you may have at the chic dedicated desk space. Then, slip on your walking shoes for an exciting day of sightseeing. 

Within your bohemian Trastevere neighbourhood, you’ll find plenty of traditional trattorias, craft beer pubs and artisan shops, while the city’s most iconic sights – including the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, Campo de Fiori, Circus Maximus, the Colosseum and the Imperial Forums – are all easily reachable on foot.

Trastevere Twist

Tempus has pretty much everything going for it. Not only is it in the very centre of Monti (on a backstreet though, so it’s pretty quiet), but the design shows off a lovely mix of original brick archways and modern, almost industrial touches. The enormous kitchen island is a dream, and we haven’t come across many more inviting bathrooms than the little grotto here. It’s very bright, thanks to the plate glass windows, but these also bring about the only flaw we could find – you’re definitely in a bit of a fishbowl.


Tempus

This apartment in Rome’s trendy Pigneto area might be small in scale, but it has buckets of charm and is an ideal place to stay while exploring all the wonders of the Eternal City. 

You’ll likely fall under the spell of this loft gem the moment you step through the door: the living area is flooded with an abundance of natural light, courtesy of the floor-to-ceiling window. You can kick off your shoes and relax on the sofa, listening to your favourite tunes. We love the artwork on the walls, the record-shaped coffee table, and the lovely and unexpected pieces dotted around. 

Step into the bright and inviting kitchen to rustle up a quick and delicious meal, and enjoy it either at the dining table or out on the balcony, where you can also gaze at the orange rooftops of Rome before you. 
Get a restful night’s sleep in the comfy bed and awake refreshed and ready for another day of la dolce vita, Roman style. 


Tuned In

Tucked within a peaceful residential area, right next to the metro, this charming apartment makes exploring Rome feel effortless. Set in a historic building, the interiors channel vintage flair – with terracotta floors, leather sofas and eclectic lighting creating a warm, characterful space. There’s only one bathroom, but it’s a good one, tiled in a cheerful bright blue. Whether you're here for a while or just a few days, this is an easy place to call home. Travelling with a pet? They're welcome too.

Retro Rome

Beautiful Rome – a city of romance, history, and style. It makes sense, then, to stay in an apartment brimming with elegant style and historic touches. 

This apartment can be found in the Jewish Quarter, a beautiful neighbourhood with a rich history. Walking just a few steps from the front door, you’ll find yourself exploring 2000-year-old ruins. Amid the fascinating historical sights, you’ll also have your pick of excellent eateries here – you’re never far from your next great meal in Rome. This lovely home also makes for a great base for exploring the rest of the city – you’re right in the thick of things, so you can easily visit all of Rome’s hotspots on foot. Trastevere and its fabulous nightlife are just a few minutes' walk, as are Piazza Venezia and Piazza Navona.

The apartment itself is a stunningly good find. It’s spacious and bright, decorated in classic Italian style using only the finest furniture. There’s something to admire in every corner, whether it’s the pull-down cocktail bar in the living room, or the antique wooden beams. When you need a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is a haven. Relax with a good book and a glass of wine before dinner – but will you dine in or head out?  


Buona Serata

Waking up to views of Rome’s monumental Colosseum through your window is a moment you’ll never tire of at this immaculate apartment, perched right in the heart of the Old Town.

You can simply stroll out of your apartment building and immediately see the striking building. It's an inspiring sight that adds instant excitement to your Roman adventure.

Alongside the Colosseum, you're also just 600 metres away from the archaic Roman Forum. Insightful and fascinating, the ancient ruins stand proud against contemporary infrastructure in an impressive feat of traditional architecture. 

Intertwined between the iconic landmarks, you'll find a plethora of cute cafes and fine restaurants. Authentically Italian menus combine with international dishes to suit every palette. 

After a day of sampling the food and admiring the buildings, you can take a well-earned break in the modern comfort of your home. The interior is a stark contrast from Rome's landmarks – it's fitted with high-speed Wi-Fi, self check-in technology and the latest smart home system.

A large TV features all your favourite streaming services, including Netflix and Amazon Prime, so you can catch your favourite shows. Adjacent to the cosy living room, a kitchen stands next to a cute dining table. The whole group can gather here to share pizza and Barolo wine, taking turns to discuss the highlights of their trip.

There’s no doubting the USP of this bolthole apartment set in the heart of Rome’s Old Town. Just fling the windows wide to reveal the most monumental views of the Colosseum and the Imperial Forums, and it all becomes crystal clear.

Housed in a handsome period property befitting Rome’s historical centre, the majestic entrance makes quite the first impression. While inside, everywhere has been expertly reimagined for seamless, modern living with those polished finishes that Italians do so well. 

Pad out of the boutique-style bedroom and into the sleek, modern kitchen area to fire up the coffee machine. Then get together around the dining table to hatch plans for the day ahead – you’ll have views of the world’s most iconic amphitheatre right there. And if you’re impressed now, just wait until dusk when the decorative columns and arches are lit up – now that’s a memory right there.

When it’s time to explore, you won’t have far to go. The entrance to the mighty Colosseum is just a four-minute walk from your door – best seen early in the mornings to beat the crowds. Then take your pick from the other must-see sights reachable on foot. The Pantheon, Spanish Steps, and the Trevi Fountain are less than a half-an-hour stroll away – or a smidge longer with pitstops for pizza al taglio and gelato along the way.

Gladiators Ready!

Step into the Art Nouveau sunroom of this period apartment and just soak up its vintage style and warm character. Surrounded by extraordinary windows – some frosted for privacy, others with stained glass – along with huge houseplants and antique furnishings, it's a striking space. Read on the sofa or linger over coffee at the dining table in the morning light. Overlooking a lush garden, it's certainly the highlight of the home. But there's plenty more to love about this place. Small, but perfectly functional, the kitchen leads to a hallway and a snug TV room with its own dining table. The pretty master bedroom is beautifully decorated, with plenty of storage and a desk, while the ensuite second bedroom has its own desk and a fabulous tiled floor. There's even the option of adding a cot if you're travelling as a family. With such easy access around the city from this spot, you'll be surprised how peaceful and quiet it is – yet it's surrounded by excellent shops and restaurants and it's just a fifteen-minute walk from the Colosseum.

Through Frosted Glass

Located in the Tuscolano neighbourhood, this apartment makes it easy to enjoy the timeless magic of Rome. Outside, it’s just 500 metres to the nearest metro station, while the Colosseum is just a twenty-minute bus ride away. There’s a great selection of local restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Plus, your host is on hand to help organise extras like taxi reservations and grocery deliveries. It’s worth noting the apartment is basic, but there’s a little balcony and plenty of space for couples and families in search of a relaxing base in the Eternal City.
