You’ve got uninterrupted views of the horizon from a covered terrace and from the open-plan living-dining room – the hanging fireplace and Moroccan-style seating make this a fab spot for socialising. Then when it comes to hitting the hay, bedrooms are split between the main villa and two separate apartments each with its own kitchenette and additional single rooms for children.  

Mediterranean Dreams

If you thought Dubai was the ultimate playground for the super rich, then you clearly haven’t been to the Costa Smeralda. This magnificent slice of coastline in the north of Sardinia is where Versace-clad A-listers and billionaires spend it like Beckham – so why not join them? This extraordinary home is a seconds away from Porto Cervo, the heart of the glitz and glamour. Its design is understated but – of course – still extremely luxurious, with cream furnishings and bold artworks. Check out the intricate stone seashell light feature in the living room and the statement ceiling studded with driftwood. Quirky wooden ceilings are clearly a thing here because the glorious balcony boasts a curved wicker canopy to keep out the rays (and give your Gucci sunnies a break while you’re checking out that sea view). Fancy a beach day? There are miles of uncrowded sandy coves just a short drive up the coast. Part of a new-build apartment building, the home's pared-back design may feel a little characterless for some. It's also worth noting there's no kitchen or living room facilities here. However, that sea-facing balcony helps to make up for that.

Granted, the interiors aren’t the most characterful, and there’s no kitchen or living space to speak of, but the private balcony is a nice touch for morning brews (and the coffee pod machine can help with those). Location-wise, you’ve got the best of this bustling port city at your feet. Grab a dose of sea air along the promenade right outside your door, and when thoughts turn to food, head to the old town’s restaurant-lined plaza for the freshest seafood imaginable. Fancy a beach day? There are miles of uncrowded sandy coves waiting just a short drive away.

Sole Mare

Grab an authentic taste of Sardinia life with a stay at this contemporary home perched along the seafront of the bustling port town of Olbia. Its central location, set close to the town’s historic centre crammed with wine bars and a restaurant-lined plaza, will come in handy as there’s no kitchen at this home. It’s also worth noting there’s no living space to speak of. But with an impressive private balcony overlooking the island of Tavolara and the Gulf of Olbia for morning coffees and evening drinks, we don’t think you’ll mind.

Olive Heart

Just 300 metres from the nearest beach at Cala del Morto, this ground-level villa is ideal for families seeking a seaside escape in Sardinia. Not only are there shops and restaurants 500 metres from here, but you'll find a flamingo breeding ground and a golf course within driving distance. Centred around outdoor living, the vivid terrace boasts shaded seating areas and a built-in barbecue for casual eats. While the seasonal pool is perfect for summertime splashing with the kids, this home's lush garden provides relaxation all year round.

Serenity on the Seaside

Often overlooked for its showier cousin – Costa Smeralda – the authentic port town of Olbia remains relatively untouched by tourism. More like a hotel room than an apartment – it's important to note there's no kitchen or living area here. 1.5 kilometres from the glitz of Porto Rotondo, this villa offers a high-tech experience amid a Mediterranean garden. Ever felt like playing music underwater in the pool? Relaxation in the bio-sauna is promised after a day trip. You'll be treated to a warm welcome and daily breakfast here, though some rooms lack air conditioning or have awkward access points. We love that groups of eight are granted free entry to the beach club 150 metres away. Plus two mountain bikes and tennis equipment are also provided.

Pompeo's Rest

This house manages that rare feat – hosting up to fourteen people without ever feeling crowded. The sheer size of it makes that unsurprising, it comprises a huge outdoor area with numerous seating spots and a luxurious interior. It's the perfect home for large families or groups of friends.

Inside you'll find deluxe furnishings and colourful artwork, a warm space that puts you at ease. However, we imagine the outdoor space is where you'll spend most of your time. 

Cushioned seats under the pergola and a wooden dining table are the natural social settings – share drinks on the cushions and pizza on the table. Every bite and sip tastes that bit fresher with the stunning views of the Mediterranean as your backdrop.

Between meals, make sure to experience the peaceful serenity of the pool and hot tub. Basking in the bubbly water of the hot tub or crisp pool water is almost obliged on the Sardinian coast, especially if that feeling is amplified with a glass of wine or beer.

When the tranquility of the afternoon melts into the gentle hum of the evening, there are myriad romanic spots to settle. The rooftop is the perfect place for sunset, whilst the BBQ area is tailor-made for social nights of laughter.
