We think it's pretty easy to see why we picked this home – just look at those views. Overlooking the bay of Nisporto, you'll have everything you need here for a slow-paced Italian escape. The interiors aren't the most exciting, but we like how the home is split across two self-contained apartments (connected by an external staircase), making it an excellent option for friends and families to holiday together while retaining some privacy. We imagine you'll spend most of your time on the terrace, but should you want to venture out, the beach is only 650m away, while the town of Portoferraio is a twenty-minute drive.

With direct access to Padulella Beach, this villa guarantees a memorable stay on the island of Elba. Hidden in 3000 sq metres of private parkland and just a short stroll from the Mediterranean sea, this place is an ode to the colour white. Built in 2019, everything is shiny and new. The bright, open living area flows easily out onto the patio and pool area, with several sets of French doors, while huge sliding doors in the upstairs kitchen open it up to a beautiful raised terrace – the best place to soak up your breathtaking surroundings. On the edge of the Costa dei Gabbiani Nature Reserve, you'll be surrounded by lush greenery but only a short drive from Capoliveri.

This elegant home in Tuscany is in a dreamy spot in a valley, in a countryside setting that leads to absolute relaxation. The villa is full of character, with antique furniture and wooden beams, in addition to mesmerising views. 

The outside space is lush and pretty. Roses and lavender have been planted alongside a wealth of trees, making the garden feel like an oasis. In the morning, sip coffee at the table under the gazebo, admiring the views and planning your day. If you’re anything like us, you won’t be able to resist a dip in the hedge-lined swimming pool for long. Dry off on a sun lounger with a good book, or start a table tennis tournament with your friends. 

In the evening, set up outside at the long dining table. You might like to arrange for a local chef to come and cook for you – that way you can enjoy a cocktail hour on the terrace before dining as the sun sets beyond the valley. 

The villa is only a short walk along the river to the centre of peaceful Poggibonsi, so you can easily dine out in the local restaurants or grab a gelato. Montemorli vineyard is just a twenty-minute walk up the hill, while the medieval beauty of San Gimignano is a mere twenty-one-minute drive away. Slightly further afield, you can be in Siena in thirty minutes, and Florence in an hour.

Set on a farm in Tuscany, this house blends rustic charms with a wealth of unforgettable experiences. The house is one of six rooms and casitas, and guests have access to a vast, crystalline pool that overlooks the rolling hills and vineyards. The farm produces its own Tuscan olive oil and honey, and there is even a top rated restaurant where you can sample some of the farm’s produce. Days can be spent riding the horses from the stable, exploring the area by E-bike, or taking a cookery class at the restaurant, where you might learn how to make fresh pasta or cantuccini. On more relaxed afternoons, treat yourself to a spa or beauty treatment – there is nothing more serene than a massage in the garden, with a gentle breeze and a soundtrack of cicadas.

This is a restful home on the outskirts of the village of Brenna, which is just five minutes away on foot. If you need to cool down, you might stroll five minutes to Stazione Balneare Merse where you can swim from the river beach. Of course, the apartment is also in a great location for exploring Tuscany, whether you fancy touring the vineyards or seeing the galleries and museums of the cities. It takes twenty minutes to drive to Siena, making it a perfect day trip.

Down the hall, three sumptuous sleeping quarters promise restful slumbers and, through timber-framed windows, postcard-worthy views of your glorious surroundings.

You'll find Montebuoni's village centre 4 kilometres away, and day trips to Siena, Florence, and San Gimignano are also easily accessible by car.

We particularly love the contemporary modular sofa, artistic lighting and Asian wall art that blends with the handmade wood and antique fireplace to create a well-balanced, zen space to relax after an explorative day driving up and down the winding hillside roads. Cook up a storm in the sleek kitchen, before tucking into a big group meal in the dining room with funky decorative details – like the wooden bookshelves and Asian-influenced objects. 

But while we adore the interiors, our favourite spot has to be down by the glistening pool. Whether you're enjoying an alfresco lunch on the covered terrace, cooling off with a quick dip in the pool, or enjoying an aperitif under the canopy, you'll be able to admire the incredible green vistas. 

When you're ready to explore, there's a host of charming hamlets and villages to discover, including Volterra and Pomarance – both less than thirty minutes' drive away.

This clifftop villa caught our eye for its views across the Tyrrhenian Sea. Located in the coastal town of Punta Ala, you’ll have direct access to the water, via steep private steps from the garden (the trek back up isn’t for the faint-hearted). There are two living rooms here (although the design may not be everyone's cup of tea), and all of the bedrooms are en-suite, so it’s a great option for a group. We love the outdoor spaces most of all – you’ll have a choice of spots to enjoy a morning espresso, alfresco lunch, or sundowner while admiring the panoramas. Location-wise, you'll find a beach, a golf course, and Punta Ala Marina all within a few minute's drive.

High up in the hills of Chianti sits this magnificent eighteenth-century residence, flanked by olive groves, rose gardens and lemon trees. The sublime archway structures harken back to the traditional Italian palazzo, and the interiors – prizing terracotta tiles and antique furniture – have a distinctly regal feel.
