Bacci is one of those homes that ticks all the boxes for us – from its rural setting to the farmhouse-chic interiors, this is an Italian holiday through and through. Whether you're taking in the views from your bedroom or the pool, you can expect to see a gentle Italian farmer going about his business in the fields surrounding the house. Evenings can be spent dining al fresco and watching the stars from the beautiful terrace. You'll definitely need a car to get around this rural area, but that's a small price to pay for this peaceful setting. 

Bacci

A hideaway in the Tuscan countryside, this beautiful home has an air of old Italy about it, without sacrificing modern comforts. Surrounded by the gold and green hills, it's a home for those who want to take a break from the everyday and bring the entire family along to do it with. With two houses and a sprawling garden, there is definitely enough room to accommodate everyone. In the mornings, step outside for an espresso before taking a refreshing dip in the pool. Relax under the Italian sun on one of the loungers — or retreat to the covered pergola with a good book. Inside, the home has retained many of its original features, including wood-beamed ceilings, an open stone hearth in the living room, and tall, arched windows looking out over the grounds. Sunflower-yellow walls throughout are sure to put a smile on your face. When golden hour hits, step outside to take in views of the Tuscan countryside, golden-hued and changing by the second, this is what the term 'sundowner' was made for. 

Texture Like Sun

This is a rural Italian escape to remember. This 18th-century home has been restored using local natural materials, ensuring its Tuscan heritage is in full view. The villa stands in unspoiled gardens within seemingly endless fields and woodland – you’ll feel a million miles from the hustle and bustle, but the shops, restaurants, and thermal springs of San Casciano dei Bagni are less than 5 kilometres away. You’ll need a car to explore the area, but your efforts will be rewarded with visits to some of Tuscany’s most picturesque spots. 


Italian Grove

Tucked among the rolling Umbrian hills, this beautiful home is surrounded by centuries-old olive trees and sweeping views. It invites long lunches on the patio, sublime swimming in the pool, and evenings under a starlit sky. The Old Citadel

Culinary types, rejoice – Quattro Formaggi has everything an epicurean could need. Take self-catering to the next level by harvesting vegetables from the garden, picking olives from the trees, or even catching your own fish from the pond (rods provided). Assemble your ingredients in the outdoor kitchen, then roast them on the barbecue or pop them on a pizza base for baking in the stone oven. There’s even a cantinetta for storing and serving wine. Once you’ve cleared away the plates, relax in the mosaic-encrusted pool for spectacular views over Tuscany.

Quattro Formaggi

You'll find this traditional villa where Tuscany meets Umbria, just a few kilometres from the medieval borgo of Città della Pieve. As far as locations go, it's incredibly scenic. The region is home to rolling hills, centuries-old olive groves, and must-see cities such as Perugia and Cortona – all easily accessible by car. Back home, the private pool is ideal for afternoon dips, the terrace has alfresco dining written all over it, and the balcony is the perfect spot to unwind with a glass of wine. The layout inside is a little quirky – multiple bedrooms are connected together, and one has external access – but that's all part of the charm.

Umbrian Classic

The Italian countryside has a magnetic charm. Could it be the holy trinity of wine, food and verdant views? Definitely. Or the temperate Mediterranean climate? Certainly. But it’s also because it’s where you’ll find glorious holiday homes like this one. 

Set in the hills of San Casciano dei Bagni and Chiusi, this magnificent stone farmhouse straddles the border between two fairytale regions – Tuscany and Umbria. Explore both of their charming towns, cultures, and cuisines with ease from this central base. We recommend the neighbouring hillside towns of Cetona and San Casciano dei Bagni, but if you’d like to venture a bit further afield, the nearby railway station in Chiusi allows for breezy day trips to Cortona, Siena and Montepulciano. 

But for all that, you'll have more than enough to keep you busy with all this home has to offer. The well-selected modern furniture and fixtures blend beautifully with the terracotta floors, brick-vaulted ceilings, stone arches and fireplaces. The classical rustic interior transports you to the past, especially with the countryside views from nearly every room. 

And there’s a lot to see – sitting proudly on a five-hectare estate, the home looks out onto both cultivated land and woodland, a lush garden of flowers and cypress trees. Outside, the rolling landscape is best enjoyed by the shimmering stone pool or the romantic, shaded pergola. In the heat of the afternoon, read in the cool of the study before returning to the patio. Lounge until sunset, where the fiery colours linger longer, and are best enjoyed alongside a bold Tuscan red from the cellar.

Cypress Hill

Nestled high on a hill in the Sienese countryside, this enchanting villa offers the perfect escape from your everyday. Ideal for large groups or families, there's ample room to make memories and enjoy some downtime on your own. Wooden beamed ceilings and typical Tuscan styling come together to create a cosy, homely vibe. 

You'll love spending your days lounging by the private pool while savouring undulating views of the verdant hillsides. In the late afternoon, potter around the fragrant herb gardens or take an early-evening stroll through the cypress and olive gardens – you've got plenty of space to explore here. Enjoy family dinners in the artisan-style dining room, or gather on the patio for a spot of alfresco dining under the shade of the trees.

If you tire of the incredible views here (spoiler – you won't) and decide it's time to explore further afield, the historic Brunello di Montalcino winery is reachable in just over an hour by car. We enjoyed a relaxing day out at Terme di San Casciano dei Bagni – it's only an eleven-minute drive away and is home to ancient thermal waters and modern thermal baths.

Tuscan Medley

Where Tuscan dreams meet endless views, this villa invites you to slow down and soak up the good life. This hilltop farmhouse wraps you in rustic charm – think a cypress-lined drive, honeyed stone walls, and centuries-old beams – all in the peace and quiet of Southern Tuscany. Outside, olive groves and manicured gardens frame a glittering pool, while the horizon stretches to Lake Trasimeno. Spend lazy afternoons under the pergola, feast al fresco as the sun dips behind the hills, and wake each morning to a view that feels straight out of a postcard. When you want to explore, there are meandering countryside paths 100 metres away. Or visit the thermal baths of San Casciano, just under 1 kilometre from this home.

A renovated stone mill, its romance is clear the moment you step inside. And then there’s the bedroom with its forest palette, green gothic headboard and access to the terrace. The medieval town of Cetona with its sandy-hued piazza and palazzo is also just five minutes away by car. Rome and Florence can be reached by high-speed rail, or drive to cities closer to home, like Orvieto.
