This unique home offers an unparalleled escape to a private island in Tuscany, where the sea sparkles and time slows. Once a lighthouse, it's been beautifully restored, blending historic character with effortless luxury. You’ll step into a bright living room with cosy seating, a library of lighthouse tales, and a spiral staircase leading to the terrace. Here, the en-suite bedrooms open onto a private space with parasols and loungers. The on-site chef curates every meal with fresh local produce, allowing you to truly kick back and relax. Days are made for basking in the sun, soaking in the hot spring tub, paddleboarding, snorkelling, or quiet reflection under the stars. To reach the island, you'll need to purchase a dinghy or helicopter taxi service, but it's absolutely worth it for the seclusion, beauty, and unforgettable experience.

Lighthouse Island

Nestled in a private estate overlooking the Chianti hills, this cottage sets the tone for a magical Italian stay. There’s a private terrace and outdoor seating for alfresco dining, while the rooms make it easy to switch off and unwind. You can enjoy access to the shared swimming pool and there are plenty of spots where you can sit back and admire the views. It also makes a great base for exploring this beautiful region. From here, its a short drive to the local villages of Lecchi and San Sano, while Siena and Florence are also within driving distance. 

Chianti Sunrise

For a taste of authentic Tuscan living, this holiday home is a great choice. This apartment is one of six, renovated from a 15th-century structure by a historically conscious architect. The result of the renovation is an apartment that boasts classic Tuscan design with modern amenities and comfort – you can dine beneath wooden beams and stay cool thanks to the terracotta tiles. 

Outside, a pretty patio boasts a wood-fired pizza oven and alfresco seating. After a day spent in the sunshine, it’s delightful to sit in the shade of the trees and sip local wine while the aroma of pizza fills the air. 

This is a restful home on the outskirts of the village of Brenna, which is just five minutes away on foot. If you need to cool down, you might stroll five minutes to Stazione Balneare Merse where you can swim from the river beach. Of course, the apartment is also in a great location for exploring Tuscany, whether you fancy touring the vineyards or seeing the galleries and museums of the cities. It takes twenty minutes to drive to Siena, making it a perfect day trip. 


A Rustic Reverie 

This cottage in Buonconvento, one of Italy’s most beautiful towns, is surrounded by meadows and fields, making it a truly scenic retreat. Outside, there’s a pool, barbecue, and plenty of space to soak up the views. Inside, it’s a mix of old and new, with beamed ceilings and antique furniture paired with modern touches. The access road is a little bumpy, but that only adds to the rustic charm. You’re a short walk from a range of local restaurants. Plus, if you hire a car, it’s easy to explore the thermal baths at Rapolano, the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore and local towns from Siena to Pienza.

A Rustic Charm

Accessible via an unpaved, cypress-lined road and perched on sloping, vineyard-covered hills, this stylish stone villa is Tuscany at its best. Whether you’re here for an intimate wedding or a big family holiday, the place will set your heart pounding. The interiors have preserved the grace of earlier ages while adding the essential modern cons and amenities.  Exposed wood beam ceilings, tiled floors covered with vibrant carpets, and gorgeous vintage furniture make you feel at home, yet so far away from the current era. The master bedroom comes with a four-poster bed, and overall, all sleeping quarters exude a pampering feel accentuated by the gorgeous period furniture. We love the huge dining room, the walls of which are lined with well-stocked bookshelves. After a hearty meal, grab a book, amble outside to the sundeck and lose yourself in another world. When the warmth overwhelms you, take a cooling dip in the massive pool. In the evening you can savour wine and antipasti on the veranda or under the vine-wrapped pergola. If you get the itch to explore, a thirty-minute drive will take you to Siena where you can enjoy dining, shopping and sightseeing. 

The Vine Song

This villa strikes the perfect balance between contemporary and traditional. The terracotta ceilings and floors are original features, but the kitchen and lounge on each level are totally modern – not to mention convenient for larger groups. But it's the sprawling garden that captured our attention. A private swimming pool is a lovely addition during the summer, a separate outbuilding has table tennis and darts, and several seating areas offer spots to relax with a glass of wine – our favourite being the courtyard, ideal for alfresco dining. The nearest village is San Gusmè, but most shops and eateries are in Castelnuovo Berardenga (6 kilometres away). For day trips, head to Siena – just thirty-five minutes by car.

Siena Ceremony

In a sleepy town in Tuscany, this breathtaking apartment is a unique find. Set in a former palazzo, it boasts classical Tuscan features like high ceilings, traditional archways, and a grand red brick exterior. Neutral colours inside contrast with the spectacular frescoed walls. We love the Rococo-style cherub fresco above the bed, lending the room a celestial aura. There is plenty of space to relax in the large open plan living area, and the fully stocked kitchen is perfect for practising your Italian home cooking. 

Certaldo Alto is a charming walled Medieval town, home to winding cobbled streets, picturesque churches, family run restaurants, and sprawling views of the verdant Tuscan countryside. It is 35km from Florence, making a day trip to the city easy. While you are there, be sure to sample some of the excellent wines from the region. After a day of exploring, kick back on the sofa in your opulent living room, before retreating to the serene calm of the bedroom for a perfect night’s sleep. With its romantic setting and unbeatable location, this would be the perfect getaway for couples. 

Fairytale in Fresco

This restored farmhouse is situated on a family-owned estate of rolling hills, organic farmland, vineyards, and olive groves. From its hilltop position, it offers sweeping views of the surroundings and all the way to Montalcino. Buonconvento, one of the prettiest medieval villages in the region, is a short drive away, and Siena is slightly further afield. The outside space includes a private pool with sun loungers and deck chairs, as well as a bocce court and a ping-pong table. Inside, the villa blends traditional features like wooden beams with modern comforts and style. It’s an attractive home-from-home. 

A Tuscan View

Nestled in a sea of pea-green pastures, historic olive groves, and undulating hills, this home exudes Tuscan tranquillity. You'll find it in the little village of Brenna, just a forty-minute drive from Siena. Sitting on the first floor of an old honey-hued building, it impressed us with its exquisite interiors and awe-inspiring views. 

The interior combines rustic charm with contemporary comforts and, in true Tuscan style, is cloaked in a calming veil of warm earthy tones and natural textures. Step inside and discover a light-filled canvas of exposed brick walls, terracotta-tiled floors and lofty ceilings adorned with striking timber beams. We love the open-plan living area, a free-flowing space primed for relaxation with ample seating, a delightfully-equipped country kitchen and a majestic stone fireplace. Down the hall, three sumptuous sleeping quarters promise restful slumbers and, through timber-framed windows, postcard-worthy views of your glorious surroundings.

Outside, the peaceful shared courtyard, furnished with dining furniture and a hot tub, beckons you to unwind in the sun. Enjoy an alfresco breakfast here before a day of adventure. Take a stroll through the town, enjoy a morning swim in the Merse River, or hike through the wooded Alto Merse Nature Reserve, just twenty minutes away on foot. 

Escaping Time

Whether you're swimming laps in the pool, lounging in bed or sipping a sundowner in the garden, this country home serves up breathtaking views from almost every angle. Surrounded by olive groves, world-famous vineyards and just a short drive from Siena, it’s a picture-perfect base for exploring the Chianti region. Inside, it’s packed with character — grand but with a touch of eccentricity, from exposed beams and stone staircases to chandeliers and canary-coloured walls. Did we mention it comes with staff, including a chef? After a hard day of wine tasting, nothing beats coming home to find dinner ready and waiting.

Super Tuscan

On a hill in the beautiful Val d’Orcia, this traditional stone villa looks out over the undulating countryside. It’s a forty-minute drive to the medieval walled city of Siena, should you fancy a day trip, but the surrounding area has plenty to keep you busy with walking trails and wineries galore.

Outside, an immaculate lawn is fringed with herbs and wildflowers, and secluded by ancient trees. Slip into the rectangular swimming pool and float beneath the blue skies in summer, or bag a lounger and while the day away with a book in hand. A handful of terraces and balconies are home to outdoor dining areas and seating nooks with fabulous country views. 

Inside, the lounge is a vision of old-world charm with brick archways leading from one seating area to another. Pull up an armchair at the arched picture window, which frames the forest-clad hills outside like a work of art. Or, opt for a seat by the old hearth which still has its cooking pot on display. The kitchen itself is a minimalist haven of terracotta floor, wood-beamed ceiling and exposed stone where pristine white cabinets hide every appliance a piece of crockery you could need for self-catering.
