Designed and built for the Brazilian F1 racing driver Rubens Barrichello, this impressive villa is a haven for those who enjoy the finer things in life. It’s only natural, then, that this luxurious home is found in Quinta do Lago – one of Portugal’s most exclusive resort areas. 

The airy, open-plan living area is sleek and stylish, with glass doors and plenty of space for guests to get comfortable. Relaxation is key here – there's even your very own sauna where you can sweat out your worries, and a fitness room for invigorating workouts. Head outside, and you'll find mature gardens, an outdoor kitchen, dining furniture, and a fabulous jacuzzi. And, as if that wasn't enough, there's a sparkling swimming pool to make a splash in too. 

Keen golfers will be in paradise, given that this chic four-bedroom home overlooks the Quinta do Lago golf course, while anyone more inclined to give their credit card a workout, rather than their golf clubs, will want to head straight to the nearby Quinta Shopping Plaza. And, if you fancy a trip to the shore, then Ancao Beach is just a fifteen-minute drive away – bask on the golden sand, dip your toes in the ocean, or even try your hand at some watersports.

Based in the picturesque town of Almancil on the sunny Algarve, this luxurious villa provides a peaceful backdrop to set the scene for many happy holiday memories. It sits just a short walk from Vale do Lobo beach, where you'll find golden sands where you can recline in the sunshine and crystal-clear waters for swimming and paddling. The outdoor areas of this home are something special – we love the gorgeous private pool with its stylish Roman steps, where you can float all afternoon with a cocktail in hand – plus the balcony where you can gaze out at the views of the lush and leafy trees around you. Inside, you'll find modern interiors with an elegant touch, with a stunning fireplace that you can gather around on chilly evenings, plus a grand dining set where you can tuck into tasty Portuguese fish stews for supper.

It's Idyllic

Just a short walk from Quarteira beach, this apartment is all about the location. The rooms might be simple, but there’s a great little roof terrace with a barbecue – perfect for al fresco dining. And if you’re here for total relaxation (with no cooking), you’ll find a great selection of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. It’s also a great base from which to explore the Algarve – Vilamoura is just a short drive away.

Summer Waves

Located in the exclusive Vale do Lobo, less than a fifteen-minute walk from the eponymous beach and a short stroll from two golf courses, this villa is perfectly placed for a relaxing stay in the sunshine. The interiors are modern, homely and instantly inviting. Begin the day in the bright living space with a cup of coffee before putting together a breakfast spread in the fully-equipped kitchen. Dine together on the terrace then plunge into the pool and splash about with your loved ones. 

After a table tennis tournament in the games room, slip on your sandals and stroll down to the seafront or drive over to Quarteira for a wander along the promenade with an ice cream in hand. If you’re feeling adventurous, embark on a boat tour to the Benagil Caves. When the day draws to a close, return to your abode for a barbecue in the balmy evening air followed by a glass or two of Portuguese wine. 

Memórias Doces

Looking for a no-fuss holiday home in the Algarve? You’ve found it. Inside, clutter-free spaces give way to the sunny patio, where you’ll find loungers for afternoon snoozes and a private pool for cooling off when the day heats up. There’s also a top-floor terrace with a seating area – the best spot to enjoy the welcome drink provided by your host. You’ll need a car if you intend on exploring – fortunately, Vilamoura’s shops, restaurants and beach are only a short drive away.


Algarve Minimalism

There’s a certain serenity to this elegant villa. Maybe it’s the calm colour scheme or the secluded location in pine-scented Vale do Lobo. Either way, you’ll find yourself in relaxation mode from the second you arrive. 

The ample living space is filled with natural light, with doors opening onto the terrace for that indoor/outdoor flow. There’s a kitchen with a breakfast bar, a sumptuous corner sofa to fit the whole family, and a top-notch Sonos sound system that runs seamlessly throughout. 

Although it’s lovely inside, you’ll probably spend most of your time in the mature garden. You’re spoilt for choice for places to chill out, so take your pick. Will it be the poolside sun loungers, the alfresco lounge area, or the shady hammock for a quiet moment out of the Algarve sun? 

Beach lovers will be in heaven here, with over 2km of golden sands on the rolling Atlantic, and if you’re a golf fan, you’re in luck, with two championship golf courses on your doorstep. Come evening, Vale do Lobo’s squares come alive with buzzing cocktail bars and excellent restaurants, but once you’ve come back to the villa, poured yourself an aperitif and slipped into the private Jacuzzi, you may find it impossible to tear yourself away. 

Sunshine in my Pocket

Just about a kilometre from the nearest sandy beach of Praia do Cavalo Preto, you will find this striking holiday villa in the quintessential Portuguese town of Quarteira. 

We love how this home brings the outside in and, indeed, the inside out – thanks in part to the huge floor-to-ceiling windows that fill the living spaces with light and provide direct access to the garden and its outdoor kitchen with dining table, laid-back seating area, and shaded terraces that are perfect for getting out of the sun and into a good book. 

In the summer months in particular, the carefully designed exterior spaces of the property are all about comfortable outdoor living – and we think you'll be amazed and just how much time you can spend outside when you have all the facilities you could need (not to mention that glorious Portuguese sun blazing triumphantly overhead). 

One of the best bits of this home has got to be that swimming pool. Tiled in a myriad of tiny mosaic tiles, the shades of which span from light turquoise to deep teal and so emulate the colours of the glistening Meditteranean Sea, and offering steps down into its refreshing waters, we think the prospect of a dip is simply too good to resist. Slide into the pool for the perfect morning wake-up call, before drying off in the sun and rejoining everyone else for breakfast to start the day off the right way. 

Does today feel like a beach day? Or perhaps you'd rather amble into Quarteira or the other small towns that dot the hills here to check out some of the cafés, restaurants, and shops. Golfers, rejoice! The fabulous clubs of Val de Lobo, Vilamoura, and Quinto do Lago are just around 5 kilometres away, so you can look forward to teeing off on some of the finest courses the Algarve has to offer. Those with a hankering for unspoilt nature are in luck too, as the Parque Natura da Ria Formosa Nature Reserve is closeby and just waiting to be explored. 

A Million Mosaics

In sunny Quinta do Lago, this villa offers a relaxing stay just a short drive from the beach. When you're not exploring the Algarve, the swimming pool is the perfect spot to while away the afternoon. Stretch out on a lounge chair for a quick siesta, or retreat to the different balconies for a tipple in the sun. Kids will enjoy the games room while the group's barbecue master rustles up dinner in the outdoor kitchen. There's also plenty of space indoors to unwind. It’s just 1 kilometre from the soft sand of Praia da Faleisa and 800 metres from Pine Cliffs golf course, so there’s something for everyone. Kids will love splashing about in the private pool, while grown-ups can look forward to sipping drinks on the terrace. It’s worth noting that two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room, where privacy is limited, and that some of the decor is a touch dated.
