The Sunshine Spot

This stylish apartment is perfect for relaxing holidays in Portugal. It’s in Portimão, in an excellent spot for exploring the coastline of the Algarve. You don’t need to get in the car to hit the beach though – Praia da Rocha and Praia dos Três Castelos are within walking distance of the apartment. You’ll also have access to a communal swimming pool. A private balcony runs the length of the apartment, and is an excellent spot for your morning coffee. The apartment is attractive and comfortable, equipped with everything you might need for a break in the sunshine.  

A Home by the Sea

Golfers – this one’s for you. Situated on a golf resort, you can’t get much closer to the action if you plan to spend your holiday strolling the fairways. But, this villa has so much more appeal than simply its location. Comfortable and homely, this home can sleep six adults and four children, assuming they’re happy to nestle down for the night on the sofa beds. The sun-drenched terraces offer the perfect place to top up your tan, while the private pool offers respite from the Algarve heat. Fancy a beach day? It’s a short drive to Alvor, where you can soak up the sun, sea and sand.

Staying in this Algarve home gives you easy access to one of the region’s most beautiful beaches (Praia dos Três Irmãos is a five-minute stroll away), along with a communal pool and neighbourhood tennis courts. It’s worth noting that the rooms are slightly dated, but it's family-friendly and there’s an adjoining annexe with two bedrooms. From here, it’s possible to walk to the restaurants and amenities in Alvor, plus it’s also within easy reach of the nearby golf courses.

This lovely townhouse is a great choice for a relaxing break in Portugal. You’ll have multiple terraces to unwind on and can enjoy ocean views. The swimming pool is shared with nearby homes, but when you want to spread out more you can stroll to Praia Grande to kick back on the beach. You’ll also be close to the attractive fishing village of Ferragudo, where you can meander along the seafront and dine alfresco. This home is a little dated in places so it won’t suit those seeking a slick, modern abode, but it’s a comfortable base, and the outside space is a real treat.

You will find this gorgeous property in the picturesque fishing village of Ferragudo. It is decorated in a modern style with colourful yet muted interiors. Combining warm colours, textured soft furnishings and stylish oak furniture, you will feel at home from the minute you arrive.

A typical day starts with a scrumptious breakfast on the terrace, soaking in the delightful morning sunshine. The fully equipped kitchen also has a coffee machine so you can read your favourite book with an espresso, making the most of every moment you have in this beautiful property. Then, wander just 1km to the nearest sandy beach and enjoy a wonderful day of sunbathing and sandcastle building before cooling off in the turquoise waters. Once you’ve dried off, walk just two minutes along the cobblestone streets to head to any of the delicious local restaurants. As you can expect, the local fishermen of Ferragudo are passionate about their produce. You will love eating paella made with fresh seafood and finish off every meal with a Pastel De Nata, the egg custard tart that Portugal is known for.

Ferragudo is an ideal location for anyone looking for a tranquil break away from the tourist hotspots. Immerse yourself in the local culture here and spend your days at some of the finest beaches in the Lagoa region. For those who enjoy shopping, there are plenty of local boutiques and market stalls to explore.

Aquamarine Escape

Take in the sea glimpses from this home's private, spacious balcony – there's room to relax and dine here. The interiors are light and roomy, too, but we're not sure you'll be spending much time indoors when there's a large shared garden and swimming pool on offer. On top of this, the resort of Portimão, with its shops, restaurants and bars, is a short stroll away, as is the lovely sandy beach, Praia do Amado. Or, history lovers can hop in the car and visit the nearby Roman ruins of Quinta da Abicada.

Situated in a quiet residential area in Sesmarias, this home will tick all of your Portuguese holiday boxes. Charmingly furnished, the open-plan living, dining and kitchen area is the heart of the home. Here, you can gather with loved ones to relax on the comfortable sofas after a day out enjoying the sun, or gather around the dining table as your nominated cook rustles up a delicious dinner.

Further afield, you can visit the stunning coastline of Carvoeiro, around 4km away – something that should definitely be on your to-do list while you’re in this lovely part of Portugal.
