Set across two floors, the owners have designed this space with total ease and comfort in mind. Spend slow mornings drifting between the swimming pool and a sun lounger, admire the views from the terrace and find a wonderful state of relaxation in the calm bedrooms. By night, the garden transforms into the perfect setting for sunset drinks, sizzling barbecue meals and star gazing. 

From here, days can be as action-packed or as slow-paced as your heart desires. Take a road trip along the coast, explore the Algarve’s beautiful beaches or simply enjoy the tranquility of your own private sanctuary. 

All Yours

Laying back on a sun lounger with a drink in hand, taking in the view from the rooftop of this luxurious villa in the Algarve, you’ll feel as if you’ve hit the jackpot. This contemporary hideaway offers everything you could want from a sunny vacation, and so much more. Head down the external staircase to the first-floor terrace to curl up with a book in the sun, or continue on down to the shimmering pool for a refreshing dip. As the day starts to cool, it will be time to fire up the barbecue for an alfresco meal under the awning – don't forget to play your favourite music on the Sonos system to soundtrack your meal. And don’t worry, cooler days are catered for too, with the option to heat the pool, underfloor heating in the bathrooms, and a luxurious whirlpool bath. The sandy shores at Praia do Garrão Nascente are just a five-minute walk away, and there are several waterside restaurants to visit if you've worked up an appetite. However, if you'd rather stick to the manicured grounds of this fantastic villa, then we don't blame you – you're truly spoilt here. 

Rooftop Sun

If you’re searching for a laid-back stay in Quinta do Lago, this family-friendly home delivers. From the peaceful garden to the private pool and games room, every detail has been considered to bring warmth and joy to your stay. There's also a large terrace with a music system – setting the tone for evening drinks and alfresco dining. Maid service is included three days a week, and your host can help organise a range of extras like children’s amenities and pool heating. You will need a car to get around here, but it’s just 5 kilometres to Garrao Beach and Almancil, putting you within striking distance of the ocean.

Light & Wonder 

This villa is in a semi-rural setting, offering guests a combination of privacy and stunning views. The home looks out over Faro, with vistas stretching to the coast. A vast flower-filled garden adds to the sense of seclusion, as does the 150-metre-long driveway. That said, you’re only a five-minute drive from Estoi, and you can drive to a number of beaches on the Algarve in twenty-five minutes. A great choice for families, this home comes with all the amenities you might need, so you can focus on relaxing. There’s even a pétanque court and a games room, so there’s no chance of boredom. 

Casa de Arte

With six luxurious bedrooms, four calm-inspiring bathrooms, an opulent 70s-style living area complete with a retro-feeling full bar and finished in complementary tones of teal and copper, as well as another reception area where you'll find brightly coloured furnishings and cool pop-art style pieces adorning the walls, this home reminds us of a Bond villain's secret bolt-hole. 

Equipped with an array of gadgetry that would give Goldfinger a run for his money, the quirky kitchen boasts countertop grilling stations on a central circular island that looks as though it was lifted straight out of a space station. There is also a funky corner booth that's perfect for sitting down with a cup of coffee and the morning paper. 

Step outside and you'll find a huge garden centred around a stunning swimming pool, given an extra layer of grandeur courtesy of the pillars that surround it on three sides and around which the house wraps itself. With plenty of shaded seating areas as well as sun loungers and an authentic wood-fired churrasco, the garden provides the perfect place to relax and unwind – until it's time to entertain, party, and socialise. It's giving us major 1970s Palm Springs vibes, and we can just imagine the scene being immortalised in a Slim Adams print. 

In a family-friendly neighbourhood by the sea, the home is located 900 metres from the sandy beach of Praia do Cavalo Preto sand beach and a kilometre from the fantastically golden sands of Forte Novo. In the local area, you will have your pick of restaurants serving everything from traditional chicken piri-piri and other regional specialties made with fresh local produce, to Asian fusion, and seafood pulled from the waters around the town.

Seventies Vibes & Bougainvillea

In the pleasant market town of Loulé, this apartment is ideal for a family seeking an authentic Algarve escape. The patio was the first thing that caught our eye – with its barbecue, it's perfect for alfresco meals in the shade. Talking of eating, there's also the well-equipped kitchen, and there's plenty of eateries within walking distance too. At capacity, two guests will be using the living area's sofa bed, so space might be a little tight. Luckily, Loulé offers plenty of reasons to be out exploring, and you can take a bus directly to the coast in less than an hour.

Algarve Whispers

Ideally located in Albufeira, this villa is perfect for families. It’s just 1 kilometre from the soft sand of Praia da Faleisa and 800 metres from Pine Cliffs golf course, so there’s something for everyone. Kids will love splashing about in the private pool, while grown-ups can look forward to sipping drinks on the terrace. It’s worth noting that two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room, where privacy is limited, and that some of the decor is a touch dated. 

Summer in Algarve

There’s a certain serenity to this elegant villa. Maybe it’s the calm colour scheme or the secluded location in pine-scented Vale do Lobo. Either way, you’ll find yourself in relaxation mode from the second you arrive. 

The ample living space is filled with natural light, with doors opening onto the terrace for that indoor/outdoor flow. There’s a kitchen with a breakfast bar, a sumptuous corner sofa to fit the whole family, and a top-notch Sonos sound system that runs seamlessly throughout. 

Although it’s lovely inside, you’ll probably spend most of your time in the mature garden. You’re spoilt for choice for places to chill out, so take your pick. Will it be the poolside sun loungers, the alfresco lounge area, or the shady hammock for a quiet moment out of the Algarve sun? 

Beach lovers will be in heaven here, with over 2km of golden sands on the rolling Atlantic, and if you’re a golf fan, you’re in luck, with two championship golf courses on your doorstep. Come evening, Vale do Lobo’s squares come alive with buzzing cocktail bars and excellent restaurants, but once you’ve come back to the villa, poured yourself an aperitif and slipped into the private Jacuzzi, you may find it impossible to tear yourself away. 

Sunshine in my Pocket

This dreamy villa, surrounded by greenery, offers you a lush escape from hectic city life. It's located in the new Quinta Verde resort, close to Quinta do Lago – one of Portugal's premier golf resorts. 

As you'd anticipate from such an upmarket location, the home is glorious. It certainly makes quite the first impression thanks to a full-height entrance hall, complete with a chandelier and grand marble staircase leading up to the main en-suite bedroom. Stood beneath the chandelier, you'll find your eye drawn to the living room and pool area beyond – perfect for a refreshing swim at any time of the day. 

Despite its regal and luxurious air, the villa also manages to feel homey and relaxed. This is a place where a family can dine, lounge and chat together for hours, enjoying the Algarve's year-round sunshine. At the end of the day, make your way to any of the four bedrooms. Each one feels as though it was tailor-made for pampering and relaxation.

You'll be staying just fifteen kilometres from Faro, so you can easily drop by for a spot of sightseeing, and if you want to nip over to Spain for a day trip, the national parks near the port city of Huelva are a little over an hour away.

Fifth Element

If you’re searching for an Algarve getaway that’s away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist spots, it’s time to stop scrolling. This home may be simple in design, but its enviable location more than makes up for it. Comfortable for six – providing two people are happy to sleep on the sofa bed – this apartment places you in the heart of Loulé for a true taste of Portuguese life. Stroll the cobbled streets of this charming market town and you’ll find hidden gems around every corner. Our top tip? Stop by the Loulé municipal market for some local produce and handicrafts.

Loulé Charm

Perched atop a hill in Faro, this luxurious villa boasts beautiful views over the Atlantic Ocean. In a rural area, we’d advise renting a car if you’re keen to explore the city and its beautiful beaches, but you’ll find a tennis club and popular restaurant within a 10-15 minute walk if you fancy staying closer to home. We love the garden here, which comes complete with a private pool, hot tub, sound system and alfresco dining areas, meaning there are multiple spots from which to admire the scenery.
