The garden features a private infinity pool and access to the Corgo River. There’s also a rustic wine cellar which can be used for events (upon request), and an independent studio sleeping four guests – making this the ideal location for groups to enjoy privacy and quality time together. 

The Gentle Earth

Imagine waking up in the morning, the sound of waves crashing in the near distance accompanied by the cawing of gulls or the delighted cries of children playing on the nearby beach. Open up the curtains and the coastal sunshine beams in, giving off just a slight morning warmth. Then you know – you're really on holiday, and the whole day stretches out before you. 

This home offers you the perfect location to experience those perfect moments, and much more. Step out onto the roof terrace to enjoy your morning coffee before setting off for the beach to make the most of a day filled with sun, sea, sand, and plenty of unforgettable memories with your nearest and dearest. 

Or, if you've had enough of the unspoiled sands of Viana do Castelo, then head into the charming trading town itself, where you'll find pretty backstreets lined with cafes, bars, and restaurants as well as the Basílica de Santa Luzia. Trust us, its unique architecture is well worth seeing. Alternatively, those with a yearning for attractions of the natural kind can look forward to venturing out into the expansive, verdant hills of northern Portugal or even trying their hand at some bodyboarding in the Atlantic waters off the coast.

Castelo on the Hill

Between mature trees and open grassland, this modern villa invites travellers to the quiet countryside of Caminha. Not far from Santana, the shores of Praia de Moledo offer perfect surfing conditions – so be sure to visit and give it a go.

Inside, this bright home boasts a dramatic design with floor-to-ceiling windows and giant pop art pieces. With a stripped-back interior, the space feels calm and inviting. After waking up with the natural light, you'll want to sip galão while stretching your legs on the deck.

Soak up the morning sunshine as you read a book by your private pool. Why not bake pastel de nata with your children in the kitchen? Then, head out along a hiking trail before cosying up in front of the fireplace – this home encourages everyone to reconnect with nature.

Freshen up beneath your rainfall shower ahead of dinner – you can even have the best restaurant reservations made on your behalf as one of the extra services available, so all you have to do is enjoy yourself.

Pop Art Sticks

This carefully renovated country house, where old and new seamlessly combine, provides you with everything you could need for an unforgettable stay in this picturesque part of northern Portugal. 

Inside, you'll find a calming palette of neutral tones, accented with restored original stone features, while outside a range of inviting seating areas put together with comfort in mind await you. Then of course there is that lovely lawn (perfect for a picnic or for any little ones to play on), the beautiful swimming pool that's simply made for sun-drenched afternoons, and even a mini football pitch and volleyball net for those who feel like getting active. If you fancy firing up some more friendly competition, there's also table tennis that's sure to get everyone involved. 

For something extra special, you can arrange cooking classes at the home – ideal if you would like to try your hand at replicating Portuguese specialties (and the well-equipped kitchen or typical outdoor churrasco provides the perfect place to do so). Its distinctively regional architecture – with its decorative red trim against white stucco walls – is a shining example of Portuguese eclectic design, and its unique aura continues both inside and outside its walls. Feel at home immediately with its cosy living room and its four bedrooms, each with ensuite bathroom – and relax into easy living outside, with its patios, spacious garden and the stunning swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers and umbrellas. 

The Aura of the Douro

Settle into this cosy wooden cabin on the Minho coastline, ideal for a long weekend or couple's retreat. The large communal pool and children's play area offer entertainment and a refreshing break from the Portuguese sun, while the private patio boasts room to dine alfresco and work on that perfect tan. While space indoors is limited, the kitchen is fully equipped and one guest can be accommodated on the sofa bed. We think it's worth having a car here for getting around with ease, but if you don't drive, fear not. The centre of Fão is a breezy stroll away, while the golden sands of Praia de Ofir are easily reachable on foot.

Floral Field

Arrive at this refined villa between river and sea to be swept away by the peace of the Costa Verde. Perfect for the family, this stay offers a little something for everyone with ease. Enjoy a Portuguese pastry with your coffee on the terrace overlooking the terrain before taking to the sandy beaches of the coast or a day of kayaking on the Minho River. On return, escape the sun and refresh in the villa’s private covered pool and spacious gardens. The town of Caminha is a walk away to enjoy aperitivos with the locals or to stock up on tomorrow’s pastries. Home dwellers will be pleased to bid the day farewell with a meal on the terrace facing sunset views over the sea. 

River's End

There’s no price for guessing what the city of Porto is famous for. However, you may be surprised to find that this fortified wine begins its life far from the city, in the vineyards found upstream and on either side of the river Douro, and it’s here where you’ll find this eye-catching villa. Overlooking the slopes of Portugal’s wine region, this home boasts panoramic views that are almost impossible to tear your eyes away from. At sunset, make a beeline for the infinity pool that stretches out across the width of the house. There’s a second heated swimming pool to the side, best reached through the open-plan living and dining room. Take a dip beneath a starlit sky or sunbathe during the day. Floor-to-ceiling sliding doors and windows can be found from the kitchen to the three bedrooms, effortlessly bridging the indoors and outside. The best views can be found from the balcony on the first floor. Since this area has been granted UNESCO World Heritage status, you’ll find that there’s plenty of exploring and hiking to do. But there’s also fun to be had at home on a rainy afternoon – challenge the group to a championship of billiards and table football and may the best team win.

Dreaming of the Douro

Situated near one of Portugal’s oldest towns, this home offers peace and tranquillity. There are plenty of grounds to explore, including a pond (our favourite area), mature woodland and numerous paths leading into the countryside. Alternatively, simply unwind next to the private pool or admire the enchanting garden views from the veranda of the main house and the cottage.

This place is ideal for a large group of friends or family – there’s a charming separate cottage with a twin bedroom and kitchenette too, which provides a perfect space for those in search of a tad more privacy. If you love traditional interiors, then you’re in luck – from the grandfather clock in the dining room to the farmhouse-style kitchen and antique beds, this home is full of old-world character.

Nestled in a wonderful rural landscape, there’s plenty to see and do. Ponte de Lima, one of Portugal’s most historic towns, with its ornate squares, cobbled alleyways, and vast riverside Monday market, is just 13 kilometres away. The country’s only national park, the mountainous nature reserve of Peneda Geres National Park, is just a forty-minute drive away and offers prehistoric remains and walking trails, as well as golden eagles, deer and wolves – oh my.


White Water Lillies

You'll have your pick of outdoor spaces and a private swimming pool to make the most of this villa's Douro Valley views. Fitting, as this spot in Peso da Regua is famous for its picturesque countryside and ancient vineyards. While the interiors certainly aren't as eye-catching as the surrounding scenery, each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, and larger groups have the option to add five extra beds to sleep up to fifteen guests. As an added bonus, breakfast deliveries of fresh bread and pastries are included – what a great way to start your day.

Douro Duet

Nestled within mature gardens and surrounded by hilly countryside, this Portuguese pad is both stylish and secluded. Located between the historic fortified town of Caminha and the golden sands of Vila Praia de Ancora – just 10 minutes away – this captivating casa offers access to a wealth of stunning natural landscapes, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture and sensational local food and wine. We don’t know about you, but that sounds like heaven to us.

You’ll love taking your morning coffee at the breakfast bar in the open-plan living area before stepping out into the garden. Bagsy one of the loungers and get stuck into your holiday read while topping up your tan on the poolside patio. You’ll be treated to countryside and even sea views from here. Feel revived with a refreshing dip in your private, outdoor pool before sauntering over to the barbecue area. Gorge on Portuguese eats while sat around the wooden dining table on the covered terrace.

If you fancy amping up the luxe factor, why not indulge in an at-home massage? Believe it or not, you’ll also be able to enjoy the services of a beautician and a private chef. Alternatively, if you can bring yourselves to part with such privacy, you’ll be able to try your hand at wine and olive oil tasting, horse riding, golf, and a variety of water sports.
