It's ideal for couples and small groups, and sits in a fantastic location to explore the region, with its gorgeous beaches and fun-loving atmosphere.

Start each day with a cup of coffee and enjoy it out on your terrace while you look out over views of the ocean. Head down to Praia do Paraíso, located just 50 metres away, and have a dip in the beautiful blue water or lie back and relax on the golden sand. Come back up to your central apartment and cool off from the hot sun with a refreshing outdoor shower, before making a pitcher of sangria and firing up the barbecue for a night of feasting. Retire inside when night falls and cosy up in the beds, ready to do it all again the next day.

There are a wealth of beaches and coves in the surrounding area, starting from as close as 2 kilometres away, and a good choice of dramatically beautiful coastal walking routes on the map. The local town of Carvoeiro has you covered for bars and restaurants, too.

This charming apartment perched on Carvoeiro’s rugged coastline is an idyllic retreat for a family or group of friends seeking a relaxing and restorative Portuguese retreat in Lagoa, Algarve.

Inside, a sleek and minimal interior awaits – clean modernism takes centre stage in the home’s design whilst plush blue sofas and geometric textiles add a personal touch. Pad out to the terrace to enjoy the early morning sun on your face as you sip your meia de leite coffee overlooking the luscious lawn. It’s effortless to pass the time soaking up the sun on your loungers, turning pages of your holiday read and exploring the shared gardens here. Come evening, prepare a delicious arroz de marisco with some local seafood – we recommend a glass of the Southern grape varietal, Viosinho.

Though Praia de Carvoeiro is a short walk away, we suggest making the short drive to Praia da Marinha where you can spend a day on the golden sands and explore the majestic sea-formed coves. For dinner, settle into a local sea-grazing taverna for the day’s catch and soak up the Algarve mentality.

The apartment is situated within a family-friendly resort, just a short walk from the picturesque former fishing village of Carvoeiro. With its sandstone sea cliffs and horseshoe-shaped bay, it's easy to see why it's regarded as one of the Algarve's best beaches. Beyond the beach, plenty of visitors to the area make the short trip to the remarkable Benagil Cave by boat or head along the coast to take in the finest natural scenery the Algarve has to offer, hiking the clifftop Sete Vales trail.

However, if you don't feel like venturing far, extensive on-site facilities mean there's not much need to leave. With a vast outdoor pool, tennis courts, several restaurants and even a diving school, the scene is set for a restorative getaway with your significant other.

Located in Areias Dos Moinhos, it’s just a fifteen-minute walk down to the beach where you can while away the day embracing the waves, and soaking up the atmosphere from one of the nearby bars or restaurants. For explorations further afield, take a trip to the historic town of Silves (less than a twenty-minute drive away), or set sail on a boat trip along the coast. 

Wherever the day takes you, this home makes for an idyllic setting for sunset drinks and total relaxation. You’ll find the four bedrooms equipped with air conditioning and everything you could need for a restorative night’s rest.

Céu Azul

Just outside Carvoeiro, with its stunning coastlines and dramatic natural scenery, you’ll find this charming home-away-from-home. Away from the hustle and bustle, you have everything you need here for a peaceful retreat. 

As you walk up to this villa, you’ll be captivated by the gardens, which are clearly a labour of love. Beautiful green grass, an abundance of flowers that wrap their scent around you, and palm trees rustling gently in the breeze. Calmness will wash over you – this home is inviting you to relax. Wander through the front door, and light bounces off the white walls as it pours in through the generous windows. The living area is cosy and welcoming, just the place to snuggle down with your loved ones at the end of the day. 

Your days are meant to be spent outdoors here. Whether lounging in the Portuguese sun with a glass of wine while others enjoy the private pool, or dining alfresco, there’s so much to enjoy. The yellow sun loungers and umbrellas cast a happy vibe – it really is all sunshine and flowers here. Fire up the barbecue and as it sizzles gently in the background, listen to the backdrop of birdsong. As night falls, look up to the blanket of stars stretched out above you. It’s the perfect way to end the day.

You’ll find this villa a mere five-minute walk from Centeanes beach – so, if you’re searching for a coastal holiday, this home will tick your boxes. Nestled on the outskirts of Caroveiro, when dining out tickles your fancy, it’s a short stroll to a plethora of restaurants and only fifteen minutes on foot to the town centre. Of course, you have to tear yourself away from the villa first – which, given its private pool, sun-drenched terraces and Atlantic Ocean views, won’t be easy. To add to its appeal, the annexe, separate from the main villa, provides an extra level of privacy for two guests.

Seashell Villa

Offering far-reaching sea views and situated just a short walk from the sandstone cliff-backed beach, this central Carvoeiro is superbly situated to make the most of a sun-soaked break to the breathtaking Algarve coast.

The former fishing village of Carvoeiro boasts one of the finest beaches along this picturesque stretch of the coast. However, there's more on offer than soaking up the sun on its golden sands. Those with a sense of adventure might like to embark on a boat trip to the magnificent Benagil cave. Alternatively, why not rise early and set out on the 12km out-and-back Sete Vales trail, with its spectacular clifftop coastal vistas.

La Petite Sardine

If you're looking for some of Europe's finest beaches then this charming villa in the beautiful wine region of Caramujeira, just a short drive from Praia da Marinha and Praia de Benagil is right on the money. Inside, it's traditional and stylish. There's a considered use of homely touches, from the whicker decor and local photography to the antique urn and small stove fireplace, so you'll feel right at home from the get-go. 

Now, correct us if we're wrong, but summer in the Algarve is best spent outdoors. And, at this pretty villa, you'll have a choice of several outdoor sitting and dining areas to bask in the warm weather.
