The open-plan living room and the kitchen is the perfect spot for socialising with your guests – spend mornings with coffee and pastéis de nata around and evenings with a glass of Tempranillo and olives before heading out to one of the local neighbourhood bars. 

If you’re seeking a cultural excursion will be delighted that the Bolsa Palace and Porto Cathedral are only a short walk away. Head north to visit the Livraria Lello, which is said to be the most beautiful bookshop in the world, before stopping at Mercado Ferreira Borges – this iconic piece of iron architecture contains tapas restaurants, a wine bar and a neighbourhood nightclub – the best part? It’s just around the corner from your apartment, so after a night sampling Porto’s music scene, you can fall into your soft sheets within minutes. 

Textures of Stone

Located right next to Jardim das Virtudes and near the iconic Clérigos Tower, this stylish studio apartment gives guests the convenience of being able to walk out to see Porto's attractions with ease. The perfect base from which to explore the city, the space features a small balcony with enough room to sit and enjoy a drink in the sunshine. Inside, ample sunlight flows through the studio during the day, and the cosy set-up and aesthetics of the living area allow for chilled-out evenings at home. While the draw of this place is having the choice, it's quite likely you'll want to discover the nearby local eateries and wine cellars when staying here. 


The Portent

Tucked right in the heart of Bolhão, we think that this sleek apartment is ideal for almost any kind of traveller, be it a group of friends looking to uncover the hidden gems of Portugal's second city, a family city break, or simply a romantic stay for a couple.

Minimal, contemporary, and characterised by classic mouldings and coastal accents, this inviting apartment to make memories. Start the day with a pastel de nata in the warm sunroom before setting off on your explorations. Within a short walk, you'll find yourself at some of Porto's most renowned highlights. The Bolhão market is a must-visit – a bustling local hub full of wonderfully fresh produce and regional specialities – the perfect place to pick up your ingredients for a special dinner in your elegant dining room. Though of course, if you’re not in the mood to cook, you'll also be spoilt for choice when it comes to the selection of restaurants serving up authentic dishes. Sample some local stews, then head to Rem Koolhaas’ Casa da Música for a memorable night of entertainment.

A Bolhão Breeze

A picture of effortless chic and understated elegance, this Parisian-style flat in Porto, with its teal colour palette and carefully curated furnishing, welcomes you to explore the city in style. Located just off the popular Rua de Santa Catarina, you'll find many of the must-see attractions within reach here, while the atmospheric streets below will have you feeling like a local. 

Start your mornings perched over the living room's Juliet balconies, as you watch the world go by. Pull up a pink-coloured velvet dining chair and enjoy a cooked breakfast in the window-side space as you map out your day's ventures. Natural light dances off the oak flooring, while the modern decor and a charming bedroom create a comfortable abode to call your own. 

When it's time to explore, head to Igreja do Carmo, Clérigos Tower and the Sé do Porto in just a few minutes on foot. From there, you'll stumble across all sorts of indie shops, family-run restaurants and hidden wine bars. Plus, you're a short walk from Cais da Ribeira, so you can enjoy a romantic riverfront stroll after dinner for two. 

Parisian in Porto

They say good things come in small packages and this practical apartment lives up to the saying. As central as Porto bases get, you’ll be close to a host of cultural and historic must-sees, including Clérigos Tower, Porto Cathedral and the bustling Cais da Ribeira district. The many nearby restaurants make up for the pocket-sized kitchenette, and while the decor isn’t the most inspiring here, beamed ceilings and a sleek en-suite are nice touches we appreciate. Just be aware you’ll need to climb the stairs up to the entrance – but as another saying goes, all good things require effort. 


Camelot

Designed with comfort and functionality at the forefront, this newly renovated apartment is an ideal base for a relaxing stay in Porto. Pitched along the iconic Avenida Fernão de Magalhães, you'll be surrounded by bakeries, eateries and cafes, with plenty of the top sights reachable on foot. 

Inside, the open-plan living space is welcoming and calm with checkerboard floors, white walls and stylish furnishings. Large balcony doors not only flood the home with natural light, but extend the communal area out to a private terrace – perfect for morning pastel de natas or evening churros. Rustle up breakfast in the contemporary, marble kitchen and sit down for convivial meals at the window-side dining table for eight. 

We especially love the attention to detail here, with objets d'art and chic art prints adorning the bookshelves and walls. It's both minimalist and yet there's a cool and creative feel to the space, reflecting Bonfirm's young, hip crowd. Practically the home ticks all the right boxes, with four comfy bedrooms, each with direct balcony access, and there's a dedicated office space for those visiting on business. 

Location-wise, it's a great spot for those in town for sightseeing, with Santa Catarina Street, Bolhão, and Avenida dos Aliados all a short walk from your doorstep. And when it's time for dinner, there's no better place for a romantic meal or late-evening stroll than along Cais da Ribeira, within walking distance of the apartment. 

Calming Incense

We had to break from doing some serious shopping to tell you about this Porto gem. This elegant apartment, housed in a recently renovated 20th-century building, is located right in the heart of the pedestrianised retail hub of Rua Santa Catarina. For fresh produce and a vibrant atmosphere, head to Mercado do Bolhão, a three-minute walk away. It's not all about shopping, though – the Chapel of Souls is a two-minute walk away, where you'll discover its beautiful azulejo tiled façade. Or take a break in the Café Majestic, a beautiful Art Nouveau café, a five-minute walk from this home. A little further, Porto Cathedral is fourteen minutes on foot. Then stop off at the small port wine shop opposite this home and take some back to this apartment.

Inside, there are furnishings from Portuguese designers and artists. Lots of large windows allow light to flood in. We adore the spacious open plan living space with its two French doors, which open onto a small balustraded balcony overlooking the street. Off the bedroom, there's a secluded terrace too, perfect for a coffee or glass of Port. Later, chill out on the mezzanine level or have a game of chess. There's plenty of room for a family or friends to spread out here. If you prefer to eat in, whip up a bacalhau à Gomes (cod casserole) in the modern kitchen and enjoy it at your dining table. Honestly, though, you probably won't be spending that much time indoors with so much on your doorstep.



Blue Sails

This home nearly feels like staying on a boat – what with the large French doors opening directly onto the Douro River. Whether you’re sat on the sofa or enjoying a coffee at the dining table, you’ll have sweeping views of the water and the city. The windows’ second benefit is the sheer amount of light the living space gets, bathing the tasteful furniture in the warm sun. We could spend hours with a book in the armchair, taking in the sea air as the day grows to a peak. But of course, this central location leaves much to be explored. You can wander along the riverfront’s picturesque fishing neighbourhoods, hopping on the 1930s tram that runs to Foz. Or, board on a boat that will take you to the famous terraced Douro vineyards to sample Vinho Verde and Port. You’ll be walking distance from beautiful historic buildings, located in one of the quietest streets of Ribeira, and only a thirteen-minute walk from São Bento Railway Station – which will connect you all over the city.  

Light Port

Make yourself at home in this stunning top-floor apartment situated in the heart of Porto. The first thing you'll notice is that your hosts have taken great care to preserve the original nineteenth-century features of this home while adding sophistication and style into the mix. Alongside stone walls, exposed timber frames and original wood flooring, you'll encounter bold printed wallpaper, mid-century furniture and plenty of gold accents to add a touch of luxury.

With its elevated top-floor position and sky-high vaulted ceiling, every corner of this city-centre flat is illuminated by natural light – a real rarity in these older buildings. We loved the covered balcony, where we could imagine nothing better than sitting in the wicker throne, a glass of local wine in hand, as the sound of live music drifts up from the streets below. Despite the central location, the apartment is calm and tranquil, making it perfect for families with children – especially when you add the second bunk room into the mix.

Down at street level, the neighbourhood has everything you could need, including traditional restaurants, cool cafes and well-stocked supermarkets. Meanwhile, Porto's main sights are within easy walking distance, with the riverfront promenade at Cais da Ribeira and the Neoclassical Palácio da Bolsa both a twenty-minute walk away.


Lofty Expectations

Situated in the heart of Downtown Porto, this apartment places you within easy walking distance of the city's top highlights. Visit the Church of Saint Ildefonso, sample local produce at the Mercado do Bolhão, or head to the Douro River for a boat trip. Inside, it's a smart, functional space for your group to spread out, and there's a sofa bed for a fifth guest. The kitchen is compact yet fully equipped for home-cooked dinners, while the enclosed balcony is a nice place to toast the day's end. Just note that you'll need to climb stairs to reach the entrance of this home. 

Porto Spice

On the doorstep of the Church of Saint Ildefonso, this charming apartment is a must for couples or solo travellers looking for a comfortable crash pad in the heart of Porto. Inside, there’s a stylish living area for relaxing after a day of exploring, as well as a private balcony for a glass of Portuguese wine in the evenings. While the kitchenette is only equipped with the very basics, you certainly won’t go hungry here thanks to the home's close proximity to countless eateries, cafes and bars.

When you’re ready to embark on your sightseeing ventures, begin with a stroll to the historic Porto Cathedral, before wandering along the banks of the Douro River at Cais da Ribeira. After a quick stop for lunch in the sunshine, we recommend heading to the striking Livraria Lello bookshop – said to have inspired parts of the Harry Potter movies, it's well worth a visit.
