This sleek apartment, right in the heart of Şişli, has a Scandi feel running through it. It's a perfect base for those seeking a retreat in a quieter affluent neighbourhood, while also providing easy access to the vibrant city hotspots and cultural sights. 

The apartment is in an idyllic location, with boutique shops and trendy coffee spots lining the local street, as well as the charming Maçka Park just a short walk away. But we particularly love the pared-back natural aesthetic your host has designed in this home – neutral hues, luscious green accents and thoughtful artworks make returning home to this apartment after a day shopping in Nişantaşı feel like a little oasis. Start your day with a Turkish çay tea and a simit bagel around the modern dining table as you plan the day’s itinerary. 

Visit the Ottoman Empire's 31st Sultan Palace, Dolmabahçe, then take the ferry to the Asian side for lunch in Moda. You can enjoy a walk along the coastal promenade, sampling stuffed midye mussels and pink-hued tursu suyu pickle juice, before settling into a local bar for a taste of the city’s national drink, Rakı. 

Şişli Sanctuary

You'll feel right at home in this smart apartment, located in the Sisli neighbourhood of Istanbul. With space for up to five guests, it's ideal for families or groups of friends who want to live like a local in this fascinating city. 

Step inside, and you'll find a modern space with plenty of natural light flooding through the huge windows. The soft colour scheme creates a tranquil ambiance, and you'll love flopping down on the comfy sofa to share stories from your day out. And, when you get hungry, you can perfect your favourite Turkish dishes in the well-equipped kitchen – we recommend whipping up some tasty menemen. 

If you'd prefer to head out for dinner, then the surrounding neighbourhood is packed with wonderful restaurants and cafés where you can try tasty local dishes. When you want to tick off your sightseeing list, you can hop on the metro to arrive at the awe-inspiring Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. And, you can even take a boat over to the Asian side of the city, to spend an afternoon on another continent.  

Leaves Of Gold

Besiktas is a beautiful part of Istanbul, shaped by striking buildings and stunning architecture – and you have the best view of the skyline from the comfort of your balcony. 

Whether it's with a morning cup of coffee, a lunch of shawarma or a bottle of raki in the evening, the balcony is an idyllic spot to relax. When the weather is a bit chilly, you can gather on the luscious white sofas and still admire the view of the concrete skyline. 

The sofas command a radiant living room that's brightened by natural light pouring in through the balcony doors. Light, wooden flooring and a forest of plants help lace the room with an exuberant ambiance, whilst the stylish dining table adds a sense of elegance. Smart and comfortable, it's a vibrant space that's perfect for hosting guests. 

If you prefer dining out to eating in, Besiktas is home to a plethora of fine restaurants. Enjoy some sumptuous food, then take a stroll around the pretty streets to feel the charisma of the suburb. Don't worry if you indulge too much at dinner, you can burn off any extra calories with the gym equipment at home. 

Stepping Over the Line

In the heart of fascinating Nisantasi, this modern, colourful apartment has charmed us with its quirky art, bright living space and pretty surroundings. On the sixth floor, its Juliet balconies open it up to the neighbourhood's trees and rooftop views.

With so much to do on your doorstep, and a nearby Metro station giving you access all over the city, you'll have a comfortable base to come home to. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms, it's perfect for friends sharing or for a small family, and its homey feel makes it ideal for a long stay.

We love the living room, with its big windows, houseplants and pops of vibrant colour, along with the dining table by the window – and the master bedroom is pretty special too. Plus there's a unique spot to sit and admire the view just off the second bedroom.


⚡️Modernalia

Ideally located in the upmarket Nişantaşı neighbourhood, this apartment ticks all the boxes for a stylish stay in the European side of Istanbul. Inside, it’s elegant yet unpretentious – we loved the boiserie and sleek pops of black in the living space. Start lazy mornings with a cup of Turkish coffee on the contemporary L-shaped couch before putting together a traditional breakfast in the streamlined kitchen. 

After finishing your holiday read from the comfort of the bubble chair, pull on your walking shoes and explore your surroundings. Treat yourself to something special in the nearby fashion boutiques or visit the neo-baroque Teşvikiye Mosque, less than a fifteen-minute stroll away. Hop on the metro at Osmanbey station and whizz into the heart of the city – gaze across the Bosphorus from the top of Galata Tower then fill up on traditional cuisine in a nearby restaurant.

Crocus Petal

This cosy, contemporary home in Şişli, one of Istanbul’s most affluent areas, is a sure-fire Turkish delight. You’ll love making breakfast on the kitchen island in the open plan living room, lounging on the sofa or flinging open the doors and stepping out onto the terrace for rooftop views. You’ll also be able to admire the surrounding cityscape from the upstairs bedroom, all whitewashed walls and warm wooden floors, ceiling and cabinetry.

With shopping malls, chic restaurants serving European and global cuisine, and cocktail bars aplenty, you’ll find Şişli has much to offer. Culture vultures will want to pay a visit to the pink painted Atatürk Museum, Ihlamur Kasrı, a former Ottoman palace where you’ll also be able to stop for coffee, and the Maçka Modern Art Gallery, for a taste of contemporary Turkish art and lunch at the popular restaurant, before a palette cleansing walk around Maçka Park. From here why not take the Maçka Gondola, an awesome aerial mode of transport? Your home’s central location means that come dinner time you’ll be perfectly placed to head out and sample the succulent kebabs, flavoursome mezzes and freshly caught fish that are the city’s signature dishes, washing them down with aniseed brandy or a glass or two of locally produced wine – what could be better?


East & West

This cool, contemporary home in Beyoğlu, Istanbul’s high-octane eating, drinking and entertainment hub, is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day’s sightseeing or socialising. Characterised by exposed brick walls, tiled floors and featuring a breakfast bar, wooden dining table and lounge-worthy leather sofas, this split-level home is stylish yet soothing, a haven away from the hustle and bustle of city life. 

Famous for its historical landmarks, hip hotels, restaurants and nightlife, Beyoğlu will make your heart race.  Make the most of your home’s location a short distance away from İstiklal Caddesi, the district’s central boulevard, and explore everything from the ancient Tower of Galata, Istanbul Modern – an innovative gallery boasting an extensive collection of Turkish art – and the Museum of Innocence. So, whether you’re making your morning Turkish coffee, cooking dinner or lounging on the sofa after a busy day, you will always be able to glance out of the windows and enjoy the view.

With its central location, this home is also the perfect base for exploring the area and all the attractions on offer, not just the Galata Tower. Then, in the evening, after you’ve tired yourself out, come together for an alfresco meal of Turkish Shawarma or Kofta as the sunsets on your panorama, glowing golden and orange around the tower’s silhouette.

You're right in the heart of Kadıköy – a fun, vibrant area of the city that lies on the shores of the Bosphorus. And getting around Istanbul couldn't be easier, which is convenient whether you're in Istanbul for work or to simply explore the magical city. You're a short walk from the well-connected metro, or you can hop on the ferry that takes you from the Asian side of Istanbul to the European side, where you can visit the Hagia Sophia, Topkapı Palace, and more. 

However you spend the day, you'll love returning home to your city oasis in the sky. The well-equipped kitchen is ideal for whipping up local favourites for dinner or you can head out to one of the area's many restaurants. Then, pick up a bottle of local wine and watch the city skyline sparkle from your sofa.

East Meets West

Şişli is one of the more glamorous neighbourhoods in Istanbul, with plenty of restaurants, boutiques and the odd historic landmark to discover locally. This apartment isn't the most opulent home in the region, but it's a more than solid choice if you're heading over to the Turkish capital.

Despite the thousands of miles that separate the areas, there's a discernible Scandi influence to the interior design, with a preference for wooden furnishings, muted colours and cosy rugs. As such, it makes for a relaxing space in which to unwind after a productive day. The kitchen is plenty big enough for whipping up family-sized feasts, too.

When the weather's on your side, Maçka Park is only a quarter of an hour's walk away, while the Dolmabahçe Palace is half an hour away on public transport.


Star & Crescent

As is the case with other cities with a famous river or a stretch of coastline, homes in Istanbul with a view of the Bosphorus are highly coveted. This apartment in a historic building in the Beyoğlu neighbourhood is one such example. Step out onto the balcony, take a seat and gaze out the iconic waterway and the Turkish capital's rooftops.

However, to say that this home is nothing more than a vantage point is borderline insulting. There's a real air of grandeur to the interior, an impression aided by the tall ceilings, open-concept layout and smart parquet flooring. Artwork hanging on the walls and house plants add some colour, as does the blue kitchen complete with floral windows. We're also keen on the wood-panelled bar area, too.

When it comes to seeing a little more of Istanbul, you don't have too far to walk. Both the Pera Museum and the Galata Mevlevi Lodge can be reached in five minutes on foot, while the city's Museum of Modern Art is more like a quarter of an hour.
