When thoughts turn to sightseeing, hop in your car to explore Kalkan’s old town and harbour, make a beeline for the pebble beach or hike a portion of the Lycian Way, Turkey’s longest walking trail.

This romantic one-bedroom bolthole is a perfect choice for couples who want to relax and enjoy each other's company. It offers a sense of privacy and seclusion as well as far-reaching views of the garden and beyond. The property benefits from an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. The main swimming pool lends itself to those who like to do a few lengths before breakfast. Glass doors lead inside to the open-plan kitchen, living, and sitting area, which is well-appointed with all the amenities you would expect in a modern villa. The interior has floor-to-ceiling glass doors on two sides of the room, one side opens onto the garden and outside pool terrace, while the other opens onto the inside pool. The bedroom features an enormous round bed and floor-to-ceiling glass doors on two sides of the room. You’ll find your low-slung villa is a ten-minute drive from the centre, tucked inside the hillside, overlooking the glittering Lycian coast. When you’re not sunning yourself on the shores of Kalkan Beach, you’ll be dipping in and out of your private infinity pool, napping on a lounger or setting the alfresco dining table in preparation for a tasty Turkish feast. 

Inside, washes of white paint and polished marble floors keep the living space breezy and bright feature walls in the bedrooms ensure you start the day with a pep in your step. Put the final touches to your itinerary at the breakfast bar then grab your sun hat and explore your surroundings. If you’re keen to expend some energy, Saklikent National Park is a forty-three-minute drive away but if you’d prefer to stay put, the Jacuzzi tub in the main bedroom is the perfect place to unwind and watch the sunset.

Right at the heart of the village Islamlar, you can not only try local trout-farm restaurants but explore olive groves and vineyards that set this region on the traveler's map. With gorgeous beaches and 'gulet' trips to nearby islands, there are a fair number of day-trips to choose from as well.

Situated in a charming village just outside the town of Fethiye, Starfish Shack is surrounded by a serene and tranquil setting - offering a truly relaxing holiday escape. The charming dining table, sun terrace, lounge areas and pretty swimming pool ensure there are plenty of places to chill out and have fun in whilst enjoying the alfresco lifestyle. The different wood and stone varieties beautifully blend with splashes of colour and neutral tones to provide a home with tonnes of character and charm. We particularly liked the vintage geometric rugs and wonderful blue kitchen. Oh and let’s not forget about the garden views from the master terrace...you’ll struggle to find a more idyllic spot to sip your morning coffee. The main town and its local restaurants are a 15-minute drive away but several beaches and beach clubs can be found just a few minutes away. The region’s ancient sites and theatre make for an excellent day trip.

This fantastic new home weaves elements of Turkish design into twenty-first-century modern living. There’s air conditioning in every bedroom, a lovely open-plan living and dining space with TV, and – of course – fast WiFi. Hidden in a thicket of pine trees, this enchanting cottage is straight out of a children's storybook. Whether you're snuggling up in front of the fire roaring in the hearth, sipping a glass of wine on the terrace around the tree-stump table or floating in the freshwater pool as the day draws to a close, every second here will feel like you're living in a fairy tale. 

Marrying timber and stone, the cosy living room a step back in time. A chandelier made from an old wheel hangs above the small dining table, while the main bedroom upstairs features vaulted wooden ceilings and a beautiful balcony where you can relax with a well-thumbed book as the scent of rosemary, thyme and mint wafts through the air. Situated high in the hills above Marmaris, this home boasts breathtaking views of Turkey's expansive landscape. With four bedrooms, one of which has a single bed in it, this villa is probably best suited for a group of friends with children or a large family. Whether you like to spend your holidays at the beach, by the pool, or curled up with a book taking in the views, there's something for everyone here. We would suggest, however, renting a car in order to get around easily and to explore the surrounding area.

This villa on Turkey’s ‘sunshine coast’ is near the tourist hotspot of Fethiye, where you’ll find an atmospheric old town, a picturesque marina, and a choice of eateries. For days at the beach, you’re walking distance to Katranci and just a short drive from popular Karaot and Calis. While the home isn’t the most luxurious in our collection, we think you’ll love the views from the terrace and will enjoy splashing around in the private pool. Although the kitchenette is well equipped, it’s small for a family-sized villa so is better suited to preparing snacks and light bites than large meals – a great excuse to dine out in the evenings.

Lebessa is a great home for a large family who wants to enjoy the rustic beauty of Kayaköy. The town is only a short drive away, and the nearest sandy beach won't take you long to find either. When you're ready to venture to the larger cities of Fethiye and Ölüdeniz, you'll be equally surprised at how close they all are. But the villa alone will keep you busy — Lebessa is a beautiful home, built with stone and a true eye for architectural beauty. The pool has been incorporated in between the buildings in a way that feels organic and inviting, and the exposed beams on the ceiling work well with the wooden textures. It's stylish, it's modern, and it feels like a home away from home. We loved it.

There are some homes that exude character, ones that you can tell hold a lot of stories. This idyllic home is one of them. Here, you’ll find a traditional brick village house that’s been lovingly restored while retaining its original charm, surrounded by vast fields and the majestic Taurus mountains. So, if you love homes with character, you’ll fall head over heels for this one. 

Located in the quiet, tiny village of Kınalı, you’re a far cry from daily life. It’s a time machine back to the days of Turkey gone by, with old artefacts, Ottoman touches, a gorgeous rustic dining table, and a traditional Turkish barbecue. But that isn’t to say this home isn’t comfortable for the modern person, we don’t think you’d find a well-equipped kitchen or a plunge pool for cooling off from the heat way back when. In Turkey, life is lived in the outdoors. Spend your days sunning by the pool in the secluded garden of native foliage, playing backgammon around the bistro table, and tucking into barbecue dinners washed down with an Efes. On cooler days, you might want to explore the nearby hiking trails in the mountains or explore the fascinating abandoned village of Kayaköy, a ghost town of old stone cottages. 

This is a beautiful, transportive place for a small family or couple to switch off. But if you want to discover more of Turkey, you’re a short drive from the popular tourist town of Hisarönü and if you venture just a bit further you’ll reach Fethiye. Explore the area’s gorgeous, pristine beaches, swim in the crystalline waters, and spend evenings in waterfront restaurants and lively bars. Or, spend cosy evenings under the wooden pergola, cooking up fresh barbecue dinners, and chatting away. The colourful garden is beautiful enough, but take the steps up to your flat top roof for wildly stunning sunset views, overlooking the Babadağ mountain.

Sitting pretty on the hillside in charming Faralya village, this family-friendly villa is contemporary and very Mediterranean. The landscaped gardens, multiple outdoor lounging and dining spaces – as well as an impressive outdoor kitchen – mean that you'll likely find us outside, and most probably sipping a drink and admiring the uninterrupted sea view from the infinity pool. We love the sense of privacy that you feel at Begonvil, laying across four acres of land and completely unseen from the outside. The villa is also only 300 metres from the beach, where you can unwind on the sand with your favourite book or go snorkelling, although be warned that's it's easier to walk down than back up the hill.

Just ten minutes from Bodrum, this villa is a cosy escape close to the Turkish coast. We're big fans of both bedrooms having en-suite (albeit somewhat dated) bathrooms, although our eyes are on the main with its open-air whirlpool tub. It's also situated on one level, so it'd be a good fit for families with children or guests who struggle with stairs. Outside, the garden offers a private swimming pool ideal for afternoon dips and shady spots where you can sit back with a glass of wine and relax. Factor in the charming coastal villages and Blue Flag beaches within driving distance, and you can see why we like it.

Should you tire of being blissfully ensconced in nature, the beautiful resort village of Oludeniz is just a ten-minute drive, with a further five minutes taking you to the pristine beach below.

Or, you could spend all your sunny days just chilling out at this villa. There’s a huge swimming pool terrace with loungers aplenty for drying off in the sun. Kids will love the orange elephant slide into the pool, and grown-ups can keep watch from the shaded outdoor lounge beneath the balcony or the frond-fringed cabana. That’s not to mention the circular hot tub crowning the pool. Alfresco feasts can be cooked in the ground-floor stone oven, or in the second stone oven up on the first-floor balcony.
