This spectacular home is a bit like having a private resort all to yourself. The luxury villa has a 50 foot long swimming pool, surrounded by palm trees and sun loungers – with the added bonus that you get to pick who you're sharing it with. You'll also find a jacuzzi, big enough to fit 12 people, and a fire pit, for chillier desert nights. Inside is just as special, with a beautiful nature-inspired colour palette and plenty of chic details – think rustic wood furnishings, statement artworks and cosy throws for wrapping around yourself. In the bedrooms, there's crisp linen, driftwood sculptures and even workspaces for catching up on emails. The trendy neighbourhood of Arcadia is on your doorstep, with its cool farm-to-table restaurants and trendy boutiques. If you fancy getting active, drive out into the desert for a hike, or follow one of the trails up iconic Camelback Mountain for incredible views across Arizona.

Nestled in the Arcadia neighbourhood, with downtown Scottsdale and Phoenix in easy reach, this smart home is a great place for explorers to kick back and relax. After a morning coffee, culture vultures can head to Scottsdale Arts District, while hikers can take a drive to the trails of McDowell Mountain Regional Park. Reconvene at one of Arcadia's cafés or restaurants to share stories about your adventures, before heading home to mix some drinks in the cocktail shaker and settle in for a movie night.

Dine in style under the hanging baskets of the modernist pergola, wind down around the fire pit or cool off in the exquisite pool, however you choose to spend your days here, they are guaranteed to be exceptional. Tucked away in North Scottsdale, you’ll be close to plenty of incredible hiking trails and golf courses, while Old Town Scottsdale with its vibrant nightlife and incredible restaurant scene is less than a twenty-minute drive away.

Pocono Mansion is the best of both worlds. Just a short walk to Scottsdale’s Old town and Fashion mall, as well as the Entertainment district, it has everything at your fingertips - but there’s plenty to keep you occupied at home too. Behind its immaculate lawn and large outdoor entertaining area, this elegant private estate complete with a guest house has large, floor-to-ceiling glass doors that seamlessly connect interior and exterior spaces, leaving you with every urge to take a dip in the private resort pool. In terms of our favourite spot inside, it's a tough call between the media room with your very own pool table or the library/wine room, but ask us in the morning and we might wax lyrical about the amazing master suite which offers one of the best views in the house.

You guessed it – this charming mid-century-inspired home used to be an architectural studio and was lovingly renovated by your hosts to create an immaculate space for a single traveller, cosy couple or a small family. With its own entrance, charming patio and private pool, you won't even notice that your hosts are right next door. Although if you need them, they'll be delighted to give you local tips and help you out in any way. Nestled in-between Phoenix and Scottsdale, you’re just ten minutes from Old Town Scottsdale with its vibrant nightlife and excellent restaurant choices, as well as Phoenix Zoo and Desert Botanical Gardens. Less than fifteen minutes in the opposite direction and you’ll find yourself in the excitement of downtown Phoenix. Whatever way you go, there's plenty to see and do.

This Phoenix home has some serious swimming pool game. The pool is fed by seven waterfalls and has won awards for its design. Taking a dip or soaking in the integrated hot tub is like sliding into a pool in a magical grotto, uplit at night. A gas grill can fuel sports tournaments long into the evening and a fire pit and chiminea provide a little warmth on cool desert nights. Practice on the putting green before hitting the real thing – there are world-class golf courses within an easy drive this home (like Stone Creek and Paradise Valley). The games continue inside, where a pool table awaits in the huge open-plan kitchen, dining and living room. After the excitement of gameplay all day, the bedrooms are a soothing medley of grey and white with big, comfy beds.

With its tilted roof and long, tall windows, you might not be surprised to discover that this unique house was designed by a secret celebrity architect. The designer, who has worked with none other than Jay-Z and Beyoncé, has filled this home with enough unique details to impress even the most discerning superstar. The high ceilings and monochrome colour scheme in the living area work perfectly with the minimalist furniture and statement lighting, while a gorgeous spiral staircase brings you to the upper level. The bedrooms are inspired by the works of Mark Rothko – simple yet elegant with blocks of bold colour. Outside, you'll find a private swimming pool which can be chilled to provide a refreshing dip during the hot Arizona days. Scottsdale Fashion Square and Old Town Scottsdale are just a few minutes drive away, but if you fancy nothing more than topping up your tan on a sun lounger, then this is just the place to do it – those mountain views are second to none.

We came to the conclusion that this Phoenix home has a very different interior and exterior. Behind the front door, guests will be greeted with a space that has a distinct boho edge — think macramé decorations, a plethora of house plants and a penchant for tan leather. It's all very calming. However, the home's outside space is geared towards entertainment, rather than relaxation. Just outside the glass doors, a bar area sits underneath the covered terrace and beyond this, there's an invitingly blue swimming pool. As if that wasn't enough, there's also a children's play area and a putting green on which budding golfers can practise. Nearby, you can drive to both Scottsdale and Phoenix in around twenty minutes. Frank Lloyd Wright's impressive winter home, Taliesin West, is a similar distance away, too.
