Five minutes’ walk from the Phoenix Art Museum, this stylish apartment puts you in the heart of Arizona’s capital. Grill houses, Mexican cantinas and ultra-hip coffee shops sit alongside independent galleries in Pheonix’s buzzing Downtown, but if you want to escape it all, hit the trails of Camelback Mountain, a twenty-minute drive away. The apartment is dappled with desert sunshine from big sash windows, and muted wall art and pristine ceramics blend in with the desert aesthetic. The compact kitchen has everything you need to cook up breakfast, lunch and dinner and the building has a barbecue area if you want to dine outdoors. Swanky lounges, a gym and a resort-style pool terrace offer social spaces to hang out, and we particularly love the shared outdoor fireplace beneath the pergola for an evening tipple.  

Desert Blue

An oasis in the desert, this Midtown Phoenix studio brings the heat. Step into its cool air-conditioned interior decorated in dusky pinks and yellows, perfectly evoking your sandy surroundings. Step out onto the private balcony and gaze out over the palms before hitting the gym or taking a refreshing dip in the pool. The poolside grills are the perfect place to refuel after a workout or a few lengths. When you want to explore, there's plenty of attractions on your doorstep. Generally, Phoenix is a drivers' city. However, Midtown scores highly for walkability, and, as long as it's not a hundred degrees outside, there are plenty of cultural attractions on your doorstep – everything from Native American art museums to mid-week farmers' markets is within a fifteen-minute walk. Hop in your car and you'll find characterful Old Town Scottsdale, picturesque hiking trails and an almost infinite number of golf courses within a short drive.

Phoenix is one of the sunniest places in the world, and this sleek Downtown home is the ideal place to enjoy the city's fantastic weather. Light streams in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, and you'll love admiring the sizzling city views from the bright yellow sofa. The kitchen has all the equipment you need to create some delicious meals using fresh ingredients from the local farmer's market – we recommend eating your creations alfresco on the private balcony. There are also several brilliant features for residents of the building to enjoy, from the shared lounge complete with a billiards table, to the high-tech gym and barbecue station. The most impressive amenity has to be the rooftop swimming pool, where you can float under the endless blue sky – it doesn't get much more relaxing than this. The surrounding Downtown district is packed with enough bars, eateries and boutiques to keep even the most discerning visitor happy, and the galleries at Roosevelt Row are only eight minutes away on foot. And, if you're craving some greenery in this desert city then you're in luck – Margaret T. Hance Park is only ten minutes away, and has thirty-two acres to explore. 

Feeling Free

This home is what you get when you cross an apartment building with a holiday resort. Found in central Phoenix, the studio's interior is a mix of mid-century-inspired furnishings, pastel-coloured walls and statement lighting. Natural light streams in through the tall windows, which in turn, open up to a balcony with a view of the city's downtown neighbourhood. In and of itself, it would be a perfectly pleasant place to call home for a while, but that's before you get to the communal facilities in the building — of which, there are loads. Up on the roof, for instance, guests can take a dip in the pool or read on one of the loungers. There are also shared barbecue facilities up here for whenever you get hungry. Elsewhere, there's a fitness centre for when you want to get the endorphins pumping, as well as a lounge area complete with a pool table when you just want to kick back and relax. When you want to get out and see what Phoenix is all about, you can walk to the Japanese Friendship Garden in twelve minutes or go see a ball game at Chase Field, only twenty minutes away on foot.

It's an art and culture hub, just a stone's throw from the Phoenix Art Museum and the entertainment and nightlife options downtown. Secondly, the communal courtyard is a desert oasis. There's a crystal-clear pool, bubbling hot tub, plenty of comfy lounge chairs and an alfresco barbecue area, all surrounded by swaying palm trees providing shade from the endless Arizona sun. Inside, you'll find a gym for all your workout needs, as well as a communal lounge if you'd like a change of scenery. And last but not least, the apartment is drenched in light and decked out in chic Southwestern-inspired decor. Sip your morning coffee onto the private balcony – also a sweet spot for evening cocktails – before rustling up a delicious breakfast in the glossy kitchen. Relax on the shared roof terrace and enjoy the city views while staying at this modern home. Sustainably housed in a building repurposed from shipping containers, this apartment has great environmental credentials, with its solar panels, which help power the building. There are bike charging and water refill stations available, too, while rainwater runoff is used to irrigate the indigenous plants. Inside the apartment itself, we love the floor-to-ceiling windows that allow light to flood in.  

Situated in Downtown Phoenix, you'll have plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars on your doorstep, as well as MonOrchid, a popular gallery space on Roosevelt Row nearby. There's a modern light rail system, too, making getting around easy, whether you're here for leisure or business.
