Or, drive eleven minutes to Griffith Park and admire the views of the Hollywood sign from the observatory. Go shopping on Rodeo Drive – reachable in twenty-two minutes by car, wander the Hollywood Walk of Fame – an eleven-minute drive away, or even go on a tour of Paramount Pictures Studio – just nine minutes away by car.

Its immediate neighbourhood is on the gritty side, and you may be able to hear noise from the street from inside the home but it's a nice, well-priced base, with lots of natural light and high quality appliances.

Nestled behind a 1913 craftsman house, you'll find this sweet studio home. It's a serene space with crisp, white walls and wooden beams. The outside space is shaded by a ficus tree, and is the perfect spot in which to enjoy some peace and quiet away from the buzz of the city. Sit in one of the rocking chairs and enjoy a glass of wine and a game of chess as you watch the hummingbirds flit between the shrubs. 

When it comes to exploring LA, this home is in an excellent location. It's just one mile south of Hollywood, in the Larchmont neighbourhood, which is full of historic homes and independent businesses. You can be in Hollywood in five minutes by car, while a fifteen-minute walk will bring you to the main boulevard of Larchmont. You'll find a farmer's market and a range of shops and eateries. It takes ten minutes to drive to downtown LA, with its bars, stylish restaurants and galleries.

With remnants from it's previous life, this studio apartment has an industrial feel and bright open living space, but may not suit those hoping for individual or separate rooms. So long as this doesn't sway you, you'll also have access to a rooftop with a hot tub, and open community grill, and even two bikes for hire!

Pia's Warehouse

This adorable two-level cottage is located between two parks and is a great, affordable base for a family or group of friends wanting to explore nearby China Town and lively Echo Park. It's definitely not the most luxurious or spacious home on our books, but it's got lots of charm and is a lovely, calming space to return to after a day out in the city. We love all the houseplants, textile rugs and stylish abstract art on the walls.

This chic little apartment is the perfect LA base for those wanting a home-from-home setting. The apartment is bright and welcoming, with a Scandi feel and quirky touches that make it nice and cosy. 

It can be found at the heart of Chinatown, so you’re in a lively part of town and also never far from your next great meal. You can hop in a cab and be Downtown in six minutes, so it couldn’t be easier to explore the Arts District’s museums and hip restaurants. Echo Park is also just six minutes away by car, and sports fans will be pleased to learn that they can stroll from the apartment to Dodger Stadium in just twenty minutes. This apartment is a great base for exploring, whether you’re in LA for business, leisure, or a mixture of the two.
