Light, classic and inviting inside, it also has a lovely outdoor space that includes a deck with mountain views, a hot tub and even a hammock, making it much more than just a cosy winter abode. If you fancy a break from hiking, skiing or wildlife watching (you may well spot the odd moose or fox in the garden), you're just a ten-minute drive from the pretty village of Breckenridge which has plenty of shops, restaurants and attractions.

Rocky Skies

This stunning condo with a captivating loft bedroom offers guests an exquisite haven in the heart of Aspen. Recently renovated, every inch of this property has been thoughtfully designed to provide a warm and inviting atmosphere. Nestled in the Rockies is this Colorado mansion set on 35 acres of grasslands. This warm wooden haven is a true mountain retreat adequate to host the extended family or a large group of friends. With plenty of indoor-outdoor living space, everyone will feel recharged before and after days spent reclining on chaise loungers or in the pool set into the home’s courtyard. When there is snow, you can cross-country ski off your own back-door and into the yard. The location is quite rural which means ultimate seclusion, but that doesn’t mean you can’t hit the slopes of Aspen for the day. We love that the home was built for a sustainable future, with geothermal heating throughout. Wish days away with a BBQ or roast s'mores on the fire. Not to mention the accompanying views of the sunset over the Elk Mountain range.

Backcountry Living

There's no chance of missing the views at this Glenwood Springs home. The Rockies are framed in almost every window; can be enjoyed from three different decks and patios; and provide a dramatic backdrop to the outdoor hot tub. They’re a constant reminder of the nearby adventures you can choose from. Hot springs, caverns and river rafting are all within a short drive, while skiing at Vail and Aspen is less than hour away. But it's not just about the location. There are four reception rooms in this super-sociable home, a large and well-equipped kitchen, big, comfy bedrooms and enough bathrooms to limit morning queues for the shower. Modern and stylish, a great deal of thought has gone into making it the perfect home from home in the mountains – from family games to play in the evenings, to fluffy robes for the hot tub.

Mountain Factor

You’ll find this home nestled amongst the evergreen trees, close to a beautiful lake. Meet the day with a cup of coffee on the balcony, before heading through the woodland trail to a free gondola that will connect you with the historic town of Telluride and Mountain Village Court. You’re also a short walk from some of Colorado's iconic ski-in/ski-out resorts, a brand new mountain bike park, and endless hiking trails. It’s the perfect spot for couples looking to relax after a long day of exploring. We’d recommend an evening swim in the heated pool, followed by a glass of wine in front of the fireplace. 

The Quiet Forest

A short walk from the gondola, this home is well-placed to explore Aspen. Skiing, hiking, sampling downtown's restaurants – you name it, it's just a few minutes away. Plus, a convenient shuttle offers access to the other three peaks. While the design back home is contemporary, it still has that cosy alpine atmosphere you long for in the mountains. The fireplace is perfect for winding down after a day on the slopes. There's also a communal swimming pool, a hot tub, and an on-site gym – that's all our boxes ticked.

Slope Side Haven

With ski in/ski out access, panoramic views and a multitude of luxurious amenities, Frosty Peaks isn’t far off being the ultimate ski-resort penthouse. It’s on the top floor of a hotel, so not only do you get the privacy and independence of an apartment, but you also get the services including breakfast and a spa. When it's warm enough, get some fresh air on the balcony and watch the winter sun illuminate Mt Daly. Soak in the freestanding baths, or head downstairs to the outdoor heated pool for a proper swim. The furniture is designer, and so are the high-quality appliances that will help elevate your experience even further. Even storage space in this home won't be an issue, as there’s a dedicated spot to leave your skis at the end of the day. The views don't just include the mountains, but also the vibrant village plaza below, where you can find shops, bars and restaurants. 

Frosty Peaks

With stunning views of the mountains and excellent access to the slopes, this home is an ideal base for outdoor adventures. The free shuttle bus stops directly outside and will take you to shops, the village and ski access points. In the summer months, guests can explore the mountains and rivers by hiking, biking or even horseback riding. Less intrepid travellers can play tennis, golf or swim in the local Recreation Center. After a day of activities, you'll want to treat yourself to an energising meal at one of the local restaurants or maybe even a drink at a nearby bar. 

Across The Divide

Surrounded by nature, this East Vail home is the perfect spot to get your fill of fresh air. Newly renovated, it neatly mixes mountain lodge chic with contemporary comfort and, to top it all off, boasts picture-perfect views of the mountains. The main living area offers maximum socialising space with its open-plan layout, and you can relax by the fire after a day on the slopes or gather round the dining table for a hearty meal post hiking. With  mountain views from every room, it almost seems like you're being spoilt with a patio too – the perfect place for morning coffee while planning your day's adventures. Get up close and personal with your natural surroundings by heading off on one of the bike and hiking trails, and walk down to Gore Creek, famous for its excellent fishing. With the free Vail Shuttle just moments away, you can easily reach its ski lifts, offering plenty of activities no matter what time of year. 


Ponderosa Pine

Nestled on the riverbank in the centre of Aspen, nature-lovers will certainly find lots to love about this home – from the location, a short walk from hiking trails and Aspen's ski resort, to the peaceful forest views. Wake up to a sunrise and the sound of the Roaring Fork River under your bedroom window, and start the day with coffee on the balcony. Your building isn't quite ski-in-ski-out, but the ski lockers are a bonus, and the heated pool and hot tub will be appreciated after a day on the slopes. In the evening, gather around the fireplace with a board game, or head to discover the many restaurants and bars nearby.

Renewed River Retreat

One block from downtown and two from Gondola Plaza, this apartment is perfect for exploring Aspen. Whether you're into hiking, skiing, or consider yourself a foodie, there's something here to tickle anyone's fancy. You'll have access to the building's shared heated pool, hot tub, and fitness centre. As for the home itself, it's equal parts cosy and contemporary. Set on the ground floor, access is easy – though it does feel slightly less private. Snuggle up in front of the fire after a day on the slopes or head into the kitchen for charcuterie and wine. Those lucky enough to bag the main bedroom will also benefit from a cosy seating area and direct access to the pool.
