While space isn’t one of this home’s strong points – even a solo traveller might find the bathroom a bit of a squeeze – it has everything you need for a comfortable stay and benefits from an enviable position on the edge of downtown Aspen. And more importantly, having received a full makeover in 2022, it’s the kind of place you’ll be happy to come home to after an action-packed day on the slopes.

A truly magical place, this chalet home in Steamboat Springs has some serious views. In a lofty position overlooking the town, the nearby golf course and Emerald Mountain – all the way to the Sleeping Giant in the distance – this superb home is spacious, comfortable and stylish. The double-height living room and the games room feature huge window walls, perfectly framing the scenery outside, while one of the best views comes from the kitchen, where you can gaze over the mountains as you whip up a meal and eat it out on the dining terrace (the sunsets and the views of the local Winter Carnival's fireworks display each year are amazing). If you're here to ski, you're just a three-minute drive to the mountain or a five-minute walk to the gondola, and you can store your kit in the home's garage. There aren't many more dramatic views from a house than the ones you'll get here. Nestled in Telluride, a town tucked in a box canyon surrounded by 13-14,000-foot Colorado mountains, you'll feel blessed to look out on stunning snowy peaks all day long. We know some people aren't keen on getting up early for breakfast (especially on holiday), but the early morning views of the Rocky Mountains from the dining table will be enough to wake up even the heaviest sleeper.

Being situated so close to mountains means only one thing – amazing skiing in close proximity. Within nineteen-minutes you can be at Telluride Ski Resort skiing on some of the best slopes in Colorado, as supported by Condé Nast and Forbes. After days out marvelling at the sights, you can look forward to returning to a home just as special. Cook up a meat feast on the barbeque (you're in Colorado after all) before heading out onto the front porch for amazing stargazing opportunities. Don't worry about getting cold, the porch is heated! But if you'd rather stay cosy inside, why not curl up around the fire in the lounge with a cup of hot cocoa to hand. Wholesome.

Best of all, you’ll find a wide range of activities and dining opportunities right on your doorstep, so whether you’re hoping to spend all of your time on the slopes or prefer hopping over to Aspen's craft brewery for some local beer, there’s something for everyone here.

The outdoor hot tub and mudroom are undoubtedly our favourite places in the home. But the kitchen with its gorgeous French sink doesn’t hurt either - and is excellently kitted out for rustling up hearty meals.

At this secluded home, you're welcomed by scenes of snow-capped mountains, aspen and spruce forest, and a quintessential log cabin with bags of rustic charm. Sitting on more than an acre of land, you'll have great views of Mount Sneffels. Inside, it's everything you hoped it would be, with glorious local timber, a stone fireplace, plush leather armchairs and warm, earthy tones. The open floorplan on the ground floor makes for a social space, with a fully kitted-out kitchen and dining area, and there's a fabulous deck where you can sit out and cook on the grill. Due to the set up of the bedrooms, we think a family would be well looked after at Quaking Aspen Tree. Best of all, however, is the location – staying here means living just two blocks from Silver Queen Gondola, the pulsating heart of Aspen's ski slopes.

Quaking Aspen Tree

Located in between the major resorts of Breckenridge and Frisco, this charming townhouse is ideal for skiing trips with family or friends. Take advantage of the free shuttle to Breckenridge that offers door-to-door service, and spend your evenings looking out onto snow-dusted pines from the private hot tub or settling in by the fire to watch your favourite shows on the wide-screen TV. If you’re staying during the summer months, we recommend heading over to the 27-hole Breckenridge Golf Club or checking out the plentiful local bike paths and hiking trails.

Highland Greens

This homey condo is located in a quieter spot but still within easy reach of downtown Aspen and all four local ski mountains on the handy free shuttle. While it sports a clean and modern aesthetic, panelled walls, wooden beams and a wood-burning fireplace create a cosy atmosphere. After a long day on the slopes, sink into the comfortable sofa and light the fire for that instant mountain vibe. This home is just two blocks from Aspen's infamous Main Street, which boasts an array of excellent restaurants and cafes, as well as charming independent shops filled with souvenirs and locally crafted trinkets. Inside the home itself, guests will find a cosy living area, decked out with plenty of comfortable seating and a brick fireplace – the perfect spot to rest after a long day in the mountains. 

Cotton Hills

Located in Denver’s oh so trendy Lower Downtown neighbourhood, also known as LoDo, this bright and colourful apartment is full of stylish decor, funky art prints and huge windows showing off the city’s skyline. Enjoy your morning coffee at the breakfast bar or out on the balcony while taking in the view. Then, catch up on some work in a quiet study room or head downstairs to the gym for a workout before beginning your day of sightseeing. Commons Park, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Coors Field and the Downtown Aquarium are all within walking distance, as is Union Station with its plethora of boutiques, restaurants, bars and weekly farmer’s market.
