Our favourite touches include the rustic dining table, the gorgeously manicured yard, the exercise bike and the twinkling pool, perfect for hot summer days. The hydrangea-lined patio with its Adirondack chairs is perfect for lounging with a drink while someone grills up dinner. One of the seriously special aspects of this home is its fabulous location within walking distance of Sag Harbour’s Main Street, with its restaurants, boutiques, and art galleries all a stone’s throw away. Sag Harbour is one of New York State’s best kept secrets and the family-friendly bohemian alternative to other nearby towns. Tucked away on a private road, you’re guaranteed a peaceful escape here. 


Whale Watching

This quintessential clapboard home in Sag Harbor is sure to pique the interest of travellers looking for a relaxing stay in the Hamptons. With its close proximity to the coast, including Haven's beach, the home is conveniently located for exploring the area. Taking it easy at home is also a tempting option here with a private pool, garden and outdoor shower. Inside, the rooms have been thoughtfully curated for families and remote workers with a dedicated home office space and a sleek kitchen and dining area that opens out onto the patio. Note that the third bedroom is only suitable for one adult or two younger children. 

Cruising The Coast

Sea Aster sits in an ideal spot for exploring beach and town life. Sag Harbor Main Street, with its restaurants, boutiques and artisan bakeries, is less than fifteen minutes’ walk away, and you can get to Haven’s Beach – a perfect spot to watch the sun set – in ten. The home has great dining and lounging areas, and the kitchen island makes the communal space even more open and social. With an ample sized garden, you get the calm and privacy that comes with the village farmhouse vibe while being at a handy distance from everything you’ll need. 


Sea Aster

This Hamptons home does island life the modern way. In the mornings, hit up the local farmers’ markets and seafood shops. Then, in the evenings, cook your fresh fish in the state-of-the-art open kitchen. From the inter-connected Sonos surround sound system to the marble fireplace, vibrant art-works and comfortable furnishings – it's the fine details that set this home apart from the rest.

We love how close this home is to the beaches but when you’ve had enough of salty water, take a dip in your private heated pool. The beautifully landscaped patio garden surrounded by the local greenary offers a peaceful spot to enjoy some much-needed vitamin D. Come rain or shine, this spot presents a quiet sanctuary away from city life – and one that you can enjoy by spending quality time together as a group. 

When you are ready to venture out, spend your days cycling around the island. With scenic spots all around, Shelter Island invites you to switch off and reconnect with nature through time in a new environment. Ahh, we can smell the fresh air already. 


Ahoy There

Formerly a grain silo, this extraordinary house is as unique and beautiful as its surroundings. Set on 170 acres of rolling green New England countryside, there are breathtaking views from all sides. Step inside to marvel at the architecture – hardwood floors and a wooden beamed roof house modern art, antique treasures and a design-led living area. There is a dedicated work space in a nook on the ground floor, and the kitchen is well stocked for whipping up home cooked meals. Upstairs on the mezzanine level there are two cosy bedrooms, and a chalet style bathroom with a huge bathtub for soaking in after the day’s activities. 

On sunny days, set out and explore your surroundings. Designed by a landscape architect, there is a beautiful sight at every turn. Head down to the circular wooden canopy for a picnic, or walk along the stream until you reach the lovely covered bridge. There is a private pond for swimming and kayaking, which is the perfect place to cool off after a walk through woodland and meadows. When you arrive back home, dine al fresco at the outdoor table, surrounded by picture-perfect scenery. The quaint town of Litchfield is an eleven minute drive away, where you’ll find grocery stores, antiques shops, and galleries.

The Old Silo

Make the most of the New York state countryside from this home in Amenia, which is within driving distance of some excellent hikes, such as Macedonia Brook State Park (twenty minutes in the car). It’s also only thirty minutes from the Catamount ski resort, meaning there’s plenty on offer for active guests. Or watch a movie at the drive-in cinema, a two-minute ride away. Back at this home itself, you’ll find a stylish space to return to after a day of exploring the surrounding area. Whether you’re sitting around the fire pit in the yard, lounging on the sofa as a group or enjoying a family meal, the spacious home is ideal for socialising. We love the vintage pieces offering a nod to the area’s agricultural roots. What’s more, there's two laptop-friendly workspaces, making it easy to work from home.

Mahogany

Escape the frenetic pace of daily life and revel in an unmissable opportunity to relax and recharge at this stunning Shelter Island getaway. Set on a quiet tree-lined street and just a ten-minute walk from the pebble-strewn seashore, the home is perfectly set up for family holidays and weekend retreats with friends.

Stepping inside, you could be forgiven for thinking you've been transported to the south of France, or the rolling Tuscan countryside. A gorgeous terracotta floor ties the open-plan layout together. The space includes a couple of seating areas, a well-equipped marble-topped kitchen and a dining table with seating for six.

Interior sliding doors allow for the creation of a self-contained king-size suite complete with a sitting room, while numerous glass doors line the walls, peeling back to reveal direct access to the large garden. Out here, you'll find plenty of comfortable seating areas and lots of green space for children to run around and play endless games of table tennis.

Three further bedrooms are situated on the top floor – all are well illuminated thanks to overhead skylights and windows that afford garden and golf course views.

For days out, pack up the beach chairs and parasols from the garage and make your way to the nearest pebble beach, a quarter of a mile away. Alternatively, saddle up on the included bikes and cycle fifteen minutes into town for family-friendly restaurants, ice cream parlours, and even a couple of upmarket eateries.



Straight Down the Middle

Live your best East Hampton life at this light-filled, mid-century architectural gem, just a seven-minute drive from the beach.

With its private pool and hot tub, grassy lawns backed by juniper trees for post-pool games (table tennis, anyone?), and a sauna for a spot of rejuvenation, this place has got it all going on.

Luxurious styled throughout with a pared-back palette, pops of blues and driftwood subtly hint at the nearby sea. Beneath its soaring ceilings, the layout is made for easy socializing. Perch up at the huge island of the made-for-action kitchen while others flex their culinary muscles. Or spill out into the high-style lounge space around the wood burner – you can keep the conversation flowing easily, whenever you choose to be. 

But on long summer nights, it's outside around the vast teak dining table that we think you'll want to be. With the firepit aglow and the festoon lights twinkling around the poolside deck, it's a magical place to spend an evening. 

When you're looking to head off property, Sammy's Beach is just a seven-minute drive away – or eleven minutes if you hop on the home's ready and waiting bikes. And you're nearly equidistant from East Hampton (twelve-minute drive) and Bridgehampton (seventeen-minute drive) when it's time to soak up the artsier scene and meet the locals.

Hampton Set

Dating back to the eighteenth century, it’s safe to say that The Whaler’s Cottage is steeped in history. It has a wonderful garden with lots of room for relaxing, and the interiors are stunning. It’s easy to see that Tom and Max have an eye for design. Light-filled, minimalist, and incredibly elegant, it’s the kind of place you look forward to coming home after perusing Sag Harbor or walking by the beach. Speaking of sandy stretches, you’re close to the village centre, giving you easy access to several beaches, along with lots of wonderful restaurants, shops, and bars.

The Whaler's Cottage

A nature lover's dream atop a 100-acre historic farm in North Stonington, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This home offers a one-of-a-kind stay – spend your mornings in the fresh air helping the hosts tend to the farm animals in the tranquil setting to feel at one with nature – from feeding chickens and collecting eggs to brushing the horses and rooster calls here and there, but it's all part of the experience.

The home itself is chic and stylish, yet homey. Mornings are best spent sipping coffee on your patio while admiring the mountain and pasture vistas of your host's Texas longhorn cattle and horses. The living area is accented with slate grey throughout, while the brown provides an earthy sense to make you feel even more connected to your environment, and is ideal for cosying up after a long day of wandering through the unending greenery. We love that the second bedroom has an art studio for letting your creativity flow, where you can paint a stunning picture of the grounds you're staying on, as well as skylights, so you can fall asleep beneath the stars.

When you want to splash around in the sea, take a twenty-minute trip to Misquamicut State Beach, fantastic for the kids to spend a day at the beach while you sit back and relax. Alternatively, drive twenty minutes to the beautiful seaport village of Mystic and explore the foodie haven featuring the area's local meats, organic produce and seafood for a tantalising supper. Stop by Jonathan Edwards winery on the way to pick up a bottle of Pinot Grigio to enjoy back at the house around the fire pit with blankets wrapped around, or check out the dedicated bar area in the living room and craft your own cocktails. There's plenty of North Stonington's rich agricultural heritage to explore nearby, including cattle ranches, organic farms and vineyards (fifteen minutes away by car). 

Mystic Countryside Farm

This colourful Hamptons home has a laid back, friendly feel that would be perfect for a group of friends or family. In a quiet part of the Northwest Woods area of East Hampton, the house is surrounded by trees which guarantees peace, quiet and privacy to enjoy your trip. We love the playful features of this home, such as the sheep and cow skin rugs, Phillips Hue colour changing lights and floating staircase. The large deck provides plenty of room to stretch out on a sun lounger and top up your tan, before diving into the swimming pool or under the outdoor shower to cool off. When you want to feel the sand between your toes, Sammy's beach is just a stroll away, and it is a short car ride to the iconic Ocean Beaches. You'll also find the quaint villages of Amagansset and Sag Harbor just a ten minute drive away. 

Technicolour Dreamland

Set on a quiet hill with sweeping views of the quintessential New England town of Falls Village, this thoughtfully designed hideaway offers an escape to the countryside. Inside, you’ll find two elegant bedrooms and an inviting living space, all decorated with tasteful furnishings and antiques. Stroll down the lane to the local tavern and design shops, wander through small-town markets, or set off on nearby Appalachian Trail. Just a bit further away are the Hudson Valley and Berkshires, so it’s the ideal spot for the avid outdoorsman looking for a cosy rural stay.
