This condo is ideally located in the Central Business District (CBD), an area of New Orleans that was originally known as Faubourg St. Marie. The world-famous French Quarter is just a short fifteen-minute walk from your door, offering entertainment, dining, bars, and music venues, in particular jazz clubs for which New Orleans is well known. Whether you choose to take in the sounds of Bourbon Street or enjoy a meal with great background music, is entirely up to you. What’s more, your neighbourhood also boasts some of the country’s premier music venues, vibrant nightlife, and fine dining establishments, so you won’t have to go far to find great venues.

The famous streetcar transportation, which inspired Tennessee Williams' writing, is reachable in just five minutes by foot from this home, opening up a city of opportunities for you. Take an evening stroll by the cathedral, which is twenty-seven minutes away on the tram, visit the House of Blues – reachable in twenty-two minutes, or even take a steamboat ride up the Mississippi River – which can be reached on the tram within twenty-seven minutes. 

In the late afternoons, why not take a dip in the complex’s swimming pool, curl up on the sofa with a good book, or spend some time people-watching from your balcony. Then, head out for dinner and spend the evening listening to incredible musicians and enjoying the colourful nightlife. 

A Streetcar Named Desire

This delightful home boasts a storied past as a former upmarket boutique. In the early nineteenth century, New Orleans' brides-to-be flocked here to indulge in sumptuous gowns and did so for over fifty years. After its closure, the building took a stint as a lively Irish pub before assuming its current guise, a quaint cluster of renovated apartments. With its fusion of original touches and modern comforts, you'll love spending time in this tranquil haven.

Situated in the aptly-named Lower Garden District, this home offers an idyllic base for exploring the Big Easy. Here, lush oak trees and opulent architecture line the picturesque streets. You'll notice the soft whir of streetcars nearby, granting you easy access to the city's delights. Hop on to reach downtown New Orleans in just twenty minutes. 

Inside, elegant high ceilings boast ample natural light and stylish decor. The open-plan lounge and fully-fitted kitchen, with a flat-screen television and dining table, offer an inviting gathering place. In the mornings, assemble here for coffee and pastries before heading out for a walk to Coliseum Square Park, seven minutes away. We love the balconies, with their quintessential fixtures and leafy street views. Spend balmy evenings here with a glass of wine to watch the sunset.

The Modiste

This contemporary penthouse not only looks amazing, but it's also in a wonderful location. A modern monochromatic design greets you inside, along with a large communal room ideal for socialising with friends and family. Because of the amount of space available, we believe this property is perfect for a family holiday or a trip with friends. On the balcony, sip cocktails while watching the world go by below, with a beautiful view of First Emanuel Church.

Your children will appreciate the football chair in the sport-themed bedroom down the hall. The kitchen, dining area, and living room are an all-in-one communal space. This means you and your loved ones can spend a bounty of time together, whether you're cooking or just watching TV.

The St Charles Streetcar is located near the penthouse. This will take you to the world-famous French Quarter, where you can dine and visit legendary jazz clubs. A short stroll from the penthouse will lead you to some fantastic restaurants, like Balise Tavern.

Seafood On A Streetcar

Back in 1932, this property was an upscale fashion boutique catering to excited brides-to-be. After fifty years of dealing in lace and tulle, it became a lively Irish pub. Maybe the good vibes of this home are in part due to the history of happiness that the building holds… Or maybe it’s just that finding such a light and pretty home ten minutes from the French Quarter made us slightly giddy. Who knows?

What we do know is that this home is something special. Wood floors and a soft colour palette combine with the natural light that pours in, resulting in a cheerful and relaxing space. After a day in the heat of New Orleans, it’s an utter delight to return to the cool ambience of this apartment. We liked to enjoy a cocktail on the shared balcony before heading out to dinner – there’s so much choice of great food and drink around here that you’d need to stay for months to try it all. 

During the day, drive thirteen minutes to City Park – one of the largest urban parks in the States. Pack up a picnic to enjoy after you’ve seen the botanical garden and the New Orleans Museum of Art. Coliseum Square Park is only seven minutes on foot from the apartment, so you really are spoiled for choice. 


Bourbon Veil

This clapboard home in New Orleans is cute as a button. It’s in the Lower Garden District of the city, a five-minute drive (or twenty-five-minute walk) to the buzzing French Quarter where old-world architecture is on display and the jazz bars of Bourbon Street toot long into the night. Your neighbourhood is a quiet spot to return to, where cottage-like houses stand side-by-side, but there are still bars and restaurants a-plenty, especially on St Charles Avenue.

It’s a typically New Orleans clapboard-and-porch building and, inside, you’ve got a pretty original fireplace set in exposed brickwork. The living area is a place of light, courtesy of big windows and crisp white walls. A sleek breakfast bar provides a little extra prep space in the kitchen and a spot for a mint julep before dinner. Bedrooms are quiet havens with plush beds for a sound sleep.

Clapboard Dream

The building in which this apartment sits has quite an interesting history. In the 1930s, it was opened as a wedding boutique and it served the brides of New Orleans for fifty years before it was turned into an Irish pub.

Today, it's a stylish collection of homes. The high ceilings and tall windows have been retained, which lend a sense of airiness and also bathe the interior in natural light. The stark white walls and wooden floorboards accentuate this gift, as do the selection of metallic and glass furnishings, from the tables in the living room and dining area to the sophisticated gold lamp. We can't not praise the minimalist kitchen and bathrooms while we have the opportunity as well.

Although there's a shared balcony within the building, there are too many attractions nearby to spend too much of your time lazing. The Ogden Museum of Southern Art and the National Museum of World War II can both be reached in around ten minutes' walk, while there's a huge array of restaurants in the Warehouse District just beyond that.




White Heather

With huge windows and exposed brick walls, this home embodies the industrial spirit of New Orleans' Warehouse District. Elsewhere, though, modern style abounds – there are smart televisions in each room, colourful dining chairs and a sleek kitchen. Wake up to city views each morning, and start your day with a fresh coffee – there's a blender and drip coffee maker for connoisseurs. Head to the building's gym for some morning cardio, or unwind on the rooftop terrace on a sun lounger and your holiday read. Of course, the main reason to choose this home is its location – just twenty-minutes from Bourbon Street and even less to the National WWII Museum and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Spend your days bar-hopping, sipping Southern cocktails and trying the best of Creole cuisine, then return to your apartment to unwind in front of the television while the city lights twinkle through the floor to ceiling windows. On warm evenings you might prefer to cook in the rooftop's outdoor kitchen, the perfect spot to end the day watching the sunset over the city.

Sun On The Mississippi

A trip to New Orleans needn't be all about Mardi Gras. This downtown apartment effortlessly blends industrial chic with the demands of a family-friendly space. The fully-equipped kitchen is the perfect place to rustle up some breakfast pancakes and there's Wifi and a smart TV to keep everyone entertained. The apartment is just four blocks from Mardi Gras World, so you can marvel at the floats, then stroll through the elegant garden squares and the colourful homes of the French Quarter, before dropping into a cafe for some local oysters. Catch an airboat for an unforgettable ride through the Louisiana bayou and you may even spot some alligators. As evening approaches, the sound of jazz spills onto the streets and you'll smell the famous local cuisine in the air. Cocktails or bourbon? The night is yours.

Jumpin' Jazz

This penthouse condo in New Orleans is perfectly situated to experience the colourful and musical vibrancy of the city. Begin your mornings with a Creole breakfast of Bananas Foster French toast at the kitchen’s breakfast bar to give yourself plenty of energy for a packed day of exploring.

Hop on the famous St. Charles Streetcar – a short two-minute walk from your door – and ride it around the city. Explore the French Quarter – reachable in twenty-seven minutes, or enjoy some jazz music on Bourbon Street – just twenty-one minutes away. Reachable in eighteen minutes on public transport, you will also find Magazine Street, which is the perfect spot for some of the country’s best dining options, music venues, and lively nightlife. Closer to home, you can wander up the street from your door and discover plenty of options, from high-end dining to ‘hole-in-the-wall’ gems that locals frequent. 

After a busy day of exploring, the high-end, comfortable sofa provides the perfect place to put your feet up, relax, and perhaps enjoy a good book. We would highly recommend finding one that takes you on a journey up the Mississippi River or reading the play ‘A Street Car Named Desire’ to truly immerse yourself in this incredible setting. 

Blanche DuBois

Just a two-minute stroll from St Charles Avenue and within walking distance of New Orleans’ famous French Quarter, this bright apartment puts you in an ideal spot to experience the best of the Big Easy.
 
Inside, contemporary design meets Southern elegance with large paned windows casting their dazzling light across the open-plan living area and nods to the city’s history of jazz in the artwork decking the walls. 
 
Make yourself comfortable on the sofa with a cold drink or gather around the chic dining table for a hearty feast when you’re not out sampling the local food scene. 
 
The main bedroom, is a sumptuous affair with its neutral palette, grand bed and high ceilings, while the other two bedrooms are more pared-back yet no less stylish and comfortable. 
 
You’ve also got access to a communal courtyard decked out with an oversized chess set, as well as a shared pool that beckons long dips in its cool waters on treacly afternoons when you’re not out seeing the sights. 
 
Speaking of exploring, you’ve got plenty of cultural hotspots within easy reach, including the countless bars and restaurants along St Charles Avenue, Harmony Circle (a five-minute walk), the Southern Food and Beverage Museum (a seven-minute walk), as well as the bright lights of Bourbon Street (a twenty-minute walk).


Lulamae

Just a short walk from New Orleans' bustling French Quarter, this stylish apartment is the perfect base for exploring the Big Easy. Interiors are sophisticated with just a hint of industrial chic in the form of large sash windows and exposed brick walls, while framed photographs evoke the spirit of this musical city. However, it's not all style over substance. Cook up a meal in the well-equipped kitchen and enjoy your meal under statement lighting at the large dining table. Each bedroom features a Smart TV, but you might find yourself settling down in the cosy living space for a movie night instead. Take advantage of amenities within the building such as the gym and lobby lounge — though we reckon you'll spend most of your time exploring the city. It's a twenty-five-minute walk to Bourbon Street, the beating heart of New Orleans' vibrant city centre. Sip a cocktail in an eclectic bar, visit the Mardi Gras Museum, and feast on Creole cuisine in a local restaurant, before returning to your apartment late for a nightcap in the lobby.

Down the River

For a charming getaway in New Orleans, this home could be just the thing. With a traditional front porch, you'll feel every bit of this city's Southern charm. Sipping on your morning coffee here as you watch this leafy neighbourhood wake up is particularly lovely. And with such friendly locals, you're sure to get a "good morning" or two. 

One of the great things about New Orleans, aside from the music, culture, food, and lots more, is the streetcar system. Not only do the cute streetcars transport you back in time, but they're also super handy. Hop on a streetcar and within twenty minutes you'll be in the heart of the famous French Quarter. There's so much to see here, you could spend days exploring it all. Pop into the many museums, galleries, and coffee shops, before making your way to the French Market. This market is the oldest of its kind in the United States selling everything from local handicrafts to gourmet foods – truly a must-see. Then, spend time in Jackson Square, sipping on a glass of wine on the sidelines as you admire the street performers.

When it comes to dinnertime, your island kitchen table is ideal for gathering the family around for a relaxed dinner. Playing cards and having some drinks while the fireplace crackles on is a lovely way to round off a day in the Big Easy. And if you don't want to cook (you're on holiday after all!), you're just a twenty-minute streetcar ride or a six-minute drive to Bourbon Street. There, you can try out all the Gumbo, jambalaya, and po'boys you can muster. And there are plenty of bluesy bars and jazz clubs to sip a Sazerac or two after dinner.
