Nestled in the woodlands, this cabin provides cosy comfort and stylish charm. The outdoor area is the perfect place to keep toasty by the fire and eat delicious meals. Guests looking for outdoor adventures can explore the surrounding landscape by foot or by bike, and couples and small groups will enjoy the romantic views and secluded location. The covered porch is the perfect spot for reading and bathing in sunlight, while other features to admire are the unique ornaments collected by the lovely host, Minetta.

Burnt Sienna

Mere steps from the beach, this four-bedroom farmhouse sleeps ten and is ideal for a large family getaway. Rustic it may be, but the interiors don’t skimp on style – white walls and pops of colour lend it a modern Scandinavian vibe. An open-plan kitchen with a Carrara marble island and KitchenAid mixer make meal prep a cinch – get everyone together to bake a cake. A travel crib, highchair and changing pad are provided for the littlest family members. 

The Captain's House

Homes like this are one in a million. An eight-acre complex on the Port Jefferson coastline, guests will find virtually everything they could wish for at the address. Let's start with the two swimming pools — one of them is outside with a glorious view of the Long Island Sound and a Jacuzzi built into the middle, while the other sits indoors along with a waterfall feature and gym equipment. If you want to keep active, there's a tennis court and a pair of saunas for afterwards, but relaxation is made just as easy with the home cinema and collection of balconies and terraces facing the sea. The house itself could double up as the residence of a character from a certain F. Scott Fitzgerald novel, thanks to thirty-foot high ceilings, double staircases and colossal spaces for entertaining. A helipad means you can make an entrance in style if you so wish and a pathway from the property leads directly down to a private stretch of sandy beach. Although there's very little reason to leave, there's a golf course in the Belle Terre village only six minutes' drive away, as well as the Port Jefferson Marina that takes around the same amount of time to reach.

Gatsby's Mansion

You don't even need to step out of this home to take in the view of Sam’s Creek and Mecox Bay, with the sea stretching out in the distance. At this cottage by the water, built up on stilts, you’ll be able to watch it all from the comfort of home. But why would you when you can step out onto the deck, wander down to your private dock or walk to the beach in just minutes. Inside, the home has more than a touch of Bauhaus about it. Designed by the late Peter Blake, it's mainly monochrome interior contrasts against the greenery framed by floor-to-ceiling windows. It's a peaceful spot, with an open layout and an air of calm – especially in the bedrooms. Its raised position makes it a unique place to stay, and allows it to really make the most of its surroundings. Spend time lazing on hammocks under the cherry tree or take to the water on the home's canoe. 

Swan's Nest

Hidden in the trees near Windham Mountain, this bright twelve-person home offers a comfortable retreat away from the busyness of daily life. As you drive through the two acres of natural land to reach the house, feel the calming energy of the place wash over you and your worries slip away. Whether you're staying with kids, friends or the whole extended family, there's plenty to keep you entertained within the timber walls, and in the beautiful surrounding countryside.

Start a pool or foosball tournament in the games room. Gather around the firepit for some late-night firepit. Visit Schorarie Creek (just over half an hour away) and try your hand at fly fishing. The ways to fill your time here are plentiful and varied – so much so that when you leave, you'll be wishing you'd had more time.

Woodland Escape

Located on one acre of property, this modern Hamptons home will make the perfect base of operations for a family reunion or a big group of friends. Given the sheer size of land this home is built upon, it’s needless to say there won’t be a neighbour in sight, giving you the seclusion you need to switch off from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and just enjoy the simpler things. Things like a lie-in with a spy novel in one hand and a cup of sweet coffee in the other. Or maybe getting up early for a yoga flow is your idea of relaxation, in which case, head outside and claim your spot so you can reconnect with nature and yourself at the same time. 

The home is modern and efficient, which makes things like cooking and dining easy whilst also looking very – we repeat, very – pretty. Dine together at the solid wood dining table, or take your meals outside to eat alfresco, surrounded by the beautiful, native foliage. Spend the rest of the afternoon out, playing games in the pool or sunbathing in the loungers. When you eventually move back inside, find a spot and hunker down with a podcast before watching the sunset together and lighting the fire pit to roast s’mores. 

If you do manage to leave this home, venture to the beach or any one of the four golf courses in close proximity. There are also wood preserves, lakes and ponds to visit, but if you want to stay right here where the wraparound windows always allow you a view of the outdoors, brightening up the space as a bonus, then we certainly won’t blame you.

Shinnecock Hills Seclusion 

An eco-friendly haven away from the world, you can see that the host’s focus on sustainability was instrumental in this home’s design. A solar powered saltwater pool, solar panels on the roof, and an electric car charging port make this Hamptons home a green getaway that doesn't compromise on style. The interiors are all modern boho chic, caramel woods and nautical wall hangings adding a warmth and brightness to the space that’s echoed by the sunshine pouring through enormous glass patio doors. There’s a dab of whimsy that’s just enough to charm young and young at heart. The bright kid’s bedroom features a wall mural of friendly flamingos and tropical palms, and a well-stocked children’s library and mini desk space will spark little imaginations. The rest of the home and gardens, of course, can be enjoyed by all ages – after all, are you ever really too old to play in the sandpit? When the heat of the day gets too much, dive into the pool to cool down, retreat inside for a siesta or delve into your latest holiday read on one of the sun loungers. If you can bring yourself to leave the home there’s a host of activities within a short drive – perhaps you’ll head to the shore of Rogers Beach, just five minutes from your front door, or take an adults-only trip to sample the best of the vineyards of North Fork.

Oyster Castle

This Hamptons home has everything a large group of friends or family could ask for. With a private freshwater pool, basketball hoop and luxurious living spaces, the contemporary pad is fully equipped to provide a memorable coastal getaway.

Budding chefs will adore the gourmet kitchen, where you can whip up tasty meals to enjoy in the sunshine or at the chic dining table. Vaulted ceilings and hardwood floors give the open-plan living area an elegant feel, modernised with interesting art pieces and a vast smart TV. When you're needing a break from the sun, this is the perfect spot to curl up and enjoy your favourite movie.

Quogue's sandy beach is just an eight-minute drive away – pack the bucket and spade and spend balmy afternoons by the water. Closer to home, the Quogue Wildlife Refuge makes for a fascinating day out. This educational sanctuary is home to a diverse selection of animals and plants, guaranteeing you'll leave having learned a thing or two.

Poolside Splendour

Located a short walk away from the beach, we thought Saltbush would be a great base for a family or a group of friends looking for a seaside escape. The decor has clean, simple, beachy vibe – it isn’t trying to be wildly innovative or elaborate, but it ties in well with the location, and the space feels comfortable and relaxing. Most importantly, the nearby beach is a private one accessible only to local residents, so you’re guaranteed peace and quiet – a rarity for the Hamptons!

Saltbush

Set on a sprawling 326-acre estate, this incredible home is a stunning year-round retreat that boasts breathtaking mountain views, multiple ponds, scenic hiking trails and a plethora of possible activities. Upon arrival, your host will show you around the luxury barn, allowing you to decide which facilities to add to your stay – this includes a gym, Japanese bathroom, gym and even a recording studio. Nearby, you'll be able to try out a range of winter activities such as snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing, while back home you can warm up around the fire fit or in the sauna.


The Olde Rancher

Situated in Southhampton, only fifteen minutes from the storied Art Village on foot, this renovated home provides an idyllic base for families. Here, you're perfectly positioned for exploring, a six-minute drive from the soft white sands of Cryder and Cooper's Beach and even closer to Southhampton's bustling centre.

At first glance, this home impresses with its lush surroundings. You'll find it tucked away behind a fringe of hedgerows pruned to perfection, promising privacy. A vast, verdant lawn cocoons its white facade and out back, a heated pool takes centre stage. Between adventures, spend your days cooling off in its sparkling waters or relaxing poolside in the Hamptons sun. 

Inside, spacious rooms boast high ceilings, heaps of natural light and, in true Hamptons style, a calming colour palette of neutral tones elevated by coastal-inspired accents. We especially love the open-plan kitchen-diner, kitted out with state-of-the-art appliances and offering access to a beautiful trellised patio. After a restful slumber in the lavish bedrooms, spend mornings roosted here, cradling a cup of coffee before heading to the beach. Come sunset, fire up the barbecue grill and regroup here for an alfresco feast.

Blueberry Dream

Set in 15 acres of private grounds, this modern mountain chalet in New York’s Catskills is the ultimate Upstate getaway. Inside, the place is rustic yet refined with timber vaulted ceilings, mid-century modern furnishings and a creamy colour palette. On chilly days, sink your toes into the faux fur rug and throw a log on the wood-burning fire while the kids battle it out on the games consoles in the playroom. But when the weather’s fine, fix tasty side dishes in the gourmet kitchen, grill local produce on the barbecue and feast together in the sunshine. Spend afternoons in the great outdoors, hiking through the Slide Mountain Wilderness or skiing at Belleayre, a thirty-minute drive away. Come home in the early evening for a restorative yoga session in your private fitness room and a well-deserved pampering in the sauna.
