This riverfront home is the kind of getaway we dream of every day. The infinity pool and views of the Hudson River are magnificent – just imagine how calming it is to wake up to views of this calibre every day. Inside, it feels incredibly warm and welcoming, making it perfect for family gatherings and spending time with your loved ones. The screened porch was extremely inviting, it’s the kind of place that inspires you to slow down. While there’s a lot to love about this home, we couldn’t get enough of the garden – manicured and green, it also boasts an infinity pool.

Fill your lungs with the scent of freshly chopped firewood as you step from the crisp Catskills mountain air into this gabled-roofed cottage. Whether you're a couple seeking stolen moments or a group of friends in search of calm, you'll find what you're looking for here. 

The wood-heady interiors cater to those in love with old-school design, particularly with the vintage wood-burning stove, record player and accompanying vinyl collection. On sunny days, a curl up on the hammock and listen to the babbling brook for hours on end – this simple pleasure is surely a tonic for the soul.

Keen hikers will no doubt be drawn to the nearby trails, taking you through the Catskill Mountains with the promise of spectacular vistas along the way. This Hamptons house sits on seven acres of lush greenery, with plenty of space for both kids and adults to enjoy. Old meets new inside, with patterned rugs, antique furniture and an imposing fireplace, along with a slick kitchen complete with coffee grinder and juicer. When the weather is right, stretch out on the sun loungers on the deck before you take a refreshing dip in the pool. No detail has been forgotten here – there's a little kitchen garden where you can pick fresh herbs for your culinary creations, and two bikes are provided for you to get around. A ten minute cycle or five minute drive will take you into Southampton, with its bustling restaurants and boutiques, or down to the sands at Cooper's Beach. Golfers will also be delighted to know that there are several courses within swinging distance.

The Ashokan is an exquisite barn-styled house nestled within rich woodland landscape. The quaint exterior shelters an incredibly contemporary and stylish interior. From the patterned floors and wonderful impressionist paintings, to the rustic oak furnishings and floorboards, this house seamlessly blends homeliness with elegance. The large bedrooms have plush deluxe beds (although the mezzanine bedroom offers very little privacy and has no curtains), as well as plentiful dressing space and luxurious bathrooms. The estate is located moments away from the beautiful Ashokan reservoir. Spend your days taking in the breathtaking landscape while hiking the trails, or perhaps head into the nearby Woodstock to wander around the legendary town.

Then, in the evenings, cook your fresh fish in the state-of-the-art open kitchen. Whether you're here for a weekend or a longer stay, you'll immediately feel relaxed in this quiet spot, surrounded by nature. There's a huge, private garden with direct access to the water and an illuminated dock, so lovers of the outdoors will be in their element. Hire a boat, or borrow the home's kayaks and paddleboard to make the most of its unique location. Inside, it's a bright and beautiful space with a truly loved and lived-in feel. Made up of two units, with a staircase joining them together, you'll find two kitchens, two living rooms, and a total of four bedrooms – plus a playroom which can act as a nursery. We loved the upper level's stunning dining area – large enough for you all to eat together, opening out to a large deck and offering panoramic views of the water (it's also where you'll find the piano if you're musically inclined). In the evenings, barbecue outdoors before lighting the fire pit and watching the stars come out one by one.

Mere steps from the beach, this four-bedroom farmhouse sleeps ten and is ideal for a large family getaway. Rustic it may be, but the interiors don’t skimp on style – white walls and pops of colour lend it a modern Scandinavian vibe. An open-plan kitchen with a Carrara marble island and KitchenAid mixer make meal prep a cinch – get everyone together to bake a cake. A travel crib, highchair and changing pad are provided for the littlest family members.
