This Woodstock residence is one for the design-savvy folk. Once a studio belonging to acclaimed realist painter Reginald Marsh, the space has been transformed into a stunning family home. It was proudly featured in Italy's Icon Design Magazine for its attention to detail and considered use of elegant and characterful materials. 

We loved the living space, particularly the expansive ceilings, enormous windows and integration of concrete and wood. Rise and shine to picturesque views of the beautiful garden. Relax on the outdoor day bed, which looks out over the legendary Indian Head mountain ridge, have a picnic by the swimming pond, surrounded by juniper trees and century-old cedars, or follow the burbling stream into the woods. Then later, gather around the fire pit. Whatever you decide to do, this home invites you to slow down the pace in style.

If you'd like to explore further afield, lace-up your boots and take a drive out to a hiking trail  –  the Indian Head Wilderness and the Bluestone Wild Forest are no more than fifteen minutes away. 



The Pond House

Sitting peacefully on the edge of North Twin Lakes, this stylish cottage sets the tone for a restorative retreat in Livingston. Featuring beautiful views, calm rooms and a range of personal touches, you’ll find everything you could need to disconnect and embrace the natural elements. Complimentary toiletries are provided and children’s amenities are available on request, plus there are plenty of entertainment options – including board games, Bluetooth Speakers, Smart TVs and three kayaks. Outside, you’ll find a private beach, a fire pit and easy access to the nearest amenities. 

Lake of Beauty

Explore ten acres of lush, green land at this cosy ranch, which lies just eight miles from the historic town of Windham. From its perch high up on a hill, you’ll have incredible views of the rolling fields down below. Watch the sun set over the Catskills mountains from the fire pit, or enjoy an al fresco meal on the deck, admiring the beautiful autumnal colours of the trees if you visit in fall. Inside, enjoy meals around the sociable dining room table, which boasts views of the countryside. On cooler evenings, sink into the sofas in the comfortable living room and warm up in front of the wood-burning fireplace.

Autumnal Colours

Surrounded by acres of forest, flowing streams, waterfalls and historic ruins, this little cottage welcomes you to experience the natural beauty of the Berkshire mountains. 

Located within a former Shaker settlement, there’s an abundance of charm and character here. From the antiques and art to the snug furnishings and personal touches, the owners have designed this space to enrich your stay with warmth and ease. So whether you’re here for an adventurous escape or for total relaxation, this home welcomes you to enjoy it all in the heart of New Lebanon.

Snuggle up in front of the fire, get cosy with a book, admire the views and gather for heartwarming evenings around the kitchen table. However you spend your time here, every moment promises to be enhanced by the unique spirit of this location. 

From here, it’s just a five-minute drive to the restaurants, shops and antique stores of New Lebanon. And for explorations further afield, you’ll find easy access to the charming villages of New England as well as the Hudson Valley.

A Little Love Note

Once an 1890s carriage house, this home has been designed for country living for a small family. Low timber ceilings and hardwood floors retain the barn-like element, but instead of hay bales, you’ve got comfortable king-size beds for grown-ups and secret sleeping spots for kids in the mezzanine above the loft. Huge windows in the living room let in the sunshine, streaming through the trees, and in the evening, there’s a wood-burning stove to keep the chill at bay. The open-plan kitchen has a large double fridge, kitchen island and plenty of storage space for all the fresh goodies from the nearby farmer’s market. You’re in the middle of nature’s bounty here, after all. The farm is at the foot of the Catskills, away from it all, so you can spend your days immersed in the wilderness of hiking and biking trails. Stick close to home and wander the acres of farm grounds, through woodlands, past ponds or just the short dander to the farm’s swimming pool.    

Old Macdonald

This NYT-featured Catskills home is not quite the cabin it seems to be. What looks like a single storey home from one angle is actually built over a creekside slope, and we think it's one of the most interesting places we've seen for a peaceful stay in the woods. Floor-to-ceiling windows make full use of the region’s scenery, and sliding doors out onto a deck mean you can practically reach out and touch the pines – you can even listen to the rushing waters of the creek from here. Modern and stylish, the design here isn't trying to outshine the views, with wood floors, white walls and a Scandi feel to its furnishings. Two of the bedrooms are on the top floor and have such great views across the canopy you'll think you're staying in a treehouse, while immaculate bathrooms are outfitted with marble, lava stone and Italian Porcelanosa tiles. If you can drag yourself away, head out on hikes, explore the nearby farm shops, or book a meal at a local restaurant – there are several within a short drive. But we recommend making your way to the home's little campfire site, with some hot chocolate and marshmallows, for an evening you'll never forget.

The Edge

Immersed in a sanctuary of trees, this rustic cabin invites you to enjoy a serene retreat in the Catskill Mountains. 

Set across five acres and just a six-minute drive from the charming town of Roscoe, there’s everything you could need to feel inspired and renewed by the majestic beauty of this special environment. 

From the atmospheric views to the exceptional styling, every detail has been considered to fill your stay with freedom and ease. And from the moment of arrival, you’ll want to pause and savour the calming simplicity of this space. High ceilings and large windows create a wonderful sense of lightness, while the seamless blend of natural tones reflects the beauty of the surroundings. Step outside and you’ll discover the expansive deck is ideally positioned for a quiet morning coffee, or later with magical evening drinks and stargazing by the welcoming fire pit. 

Follow the mountain road and you’ll find the bustling town of Livingston Manor is just a fifteen-minute drive away. There’s a great selection of cafes, shops and restaurants here, while you’ll also find an abundance of opportunities for hiking and fishing – Roscoe is known as Trout Town, USA. 

Wherever the day takes you, this home provides a constant sense of sanctuary – the perfect setting to light a fire, put on a record and savour the timeless charm of mountain living. 

The Mountain Glow

Nestled within 26 acres of beautiful grounds, this private estate welcomes you to an immersive retreat in Rhinebeck. From the indoor sauna and hot tub to the calm rooms, every detail has been considered to inspire optimum relaxation. There is also a yoga and fitness studio as well as a pool table and a wet bar – ensuring entertainment options for the whole group. Remote workers will appreciate the dedicated desk space, while we imagine everyone will love gathering by the fire for games or movie nights. From here, you can follow hiking trails straight from the door and it’s less than a fifteen-minute drive to Hyde Park and Rhinebeck.

Rise with the Sun

Sweetwater Hideaway is a magnificently organic cabin nestled in the forestry Woodstock landscape.  The timber vaulted ceiling, exposed wooden beams and deep chestnut finishings create a grand interior. Inviting sofas set around a stone-walled fireplace and a quaint library nook add a homely, cosy element to the house that is furthered by the wonderfully rustic kitchen. Simple, elegant bedrooms have plush beds and plentiful dressing room, including one organically-inspired room and a bright, colorful dedicated children’s room. There are luxurious bathrooms that have exquisitely tiled walk-in showers and soaking tubs. The cabin is nestled into the beautiful natural outdoors, while also being near enough to Woodstock to wander through legendary town. Just take a short drive to the town centre to explore all the shops and restaurants there are, or perhaps head to the Overlook Mountain Trailhead for a wholesome day of hiking. 

Sweetwater Hideaway

A grand townhouse in the middle of Hudson, Venus In Furs is not only a great place for exploring the Catskills and the Hudson Valley, but it’s also a destination in its own right. Whether sinking into the plush Chesterfield, or spending long evenings around the fire pit, you have plenty of options when it comes to relaxation. There’s a serious kitchen as well as a grill, but if you aren’t feeling like cooking yourself, the restaurants start from about a block away, while you can also reach the banks of the river in about ten minutes on foot.

Venus In Furs

This home's architecture, interiors and colourful prints all share a mid-century modern style, but its woodland surroundings are more Hansel and Gretel than Gilbert and George. In a tiny hamlet in upstate New York, it’s surrounded by mountains, lakes and forest – great for skiers, hikers and wild swimmers alike. The home has several standout features but we love the double-height living area, with its huge windows and cosy fireplace. The galleried landing has a desk in case you need to keep one eye on work while you're away, and the huge deck has a gas barbecue for those long lazy lunches outdoors. While its statement design pieces add interest, it's a homely place too, with a bedroom set up for children, logs provided for the fire, and plenty of books to pick through on the shelves. Just minutes from a choice of state parks, forests, orchards, and wineries, your days will be filled with outdoor adventures – and all just an easy drive from the city.


Art & Nature

This riverfront home is the kind of getaway we dream of every day. The infinity pool and views of the Hudson River are magnificent – just imagine how calming it is to wake up to views of this calibre every day. Inside, it feels incredibly warm and welcoming, making it perfect for family gatherings and spending time with your loved ones. The screened porch was extremely inviting, it’s the kind of place that inspires you to slow down. While there’s a lot to love about this home, we couldn’t get enough of the garden – manicured and green, it also boasts an infinity pool.
