Just near the Cooper River and Riverfront Park, this elegant 1940s home has character in abundance and cool, rustic style. Step through the classic white facade, and past huge contemporary glass panes for a stylish sage green, gold, and natural palette. The kitchen is fresh and contemporary, with everything you need to cook from scratch for your big group. Serve your spreads on the modern-boho dining table, with its pretty rattan chairs. The dark-honey floors will take you to several comfy lounges – all kitted out with big windows and green views. The grounds are just as impressive and beautiful. Serene and private, you'll be surrounded by giant oaks and plenty of space for a party or small wedding under the fairy lights. The home is also the dream location – super close to the airport, downtown Charleston, and three sandy beaches. This place makes for one stylish South Carolina getaway.

Damn Fine Coffee

Southern family living meets beach charm at this home on Hilton Head Island. The wraparound porch, pool and ping-pong table make it the perfect place to while away long afternoons in the sun. When you're ready to get out and about, you won't have to go far to get to world-renowned beaches and golf courses. Coligny Plaza – one of the livelier areas of the island – is also nearby, so there are several restaurant to try out. But we wouldn’t blame you for just having an ice cream before heading home to fire up the grill as the sun goes down over. There’s nothing quite like a cookout to end the day.

Leafy & Peach

Just short walk away from the beach on Hilton Head Island, this villa is offers true coastal chic. Part of a community development, the home has access to basketball and tennis courts, but there are plenty of tournaments to be had in the house too, with a foosball table and swimming pool. The designated cook can whip up their meals of choice on the outdoor grill, with plenty of seating for most of the house on the patio, while upstairs you'll find a medium sized kitchen for light meals. For peace and quiet, there are several balconies for reading and the bedrooms are fitted with vintage style furnishings and four-poster beds, perfect for hiding away from the world. When you do feel like exploring, the area is rich in activities, with water-sports, walking trails, and cycle routes all easy to access from home.

Double Trouble

Overlooking bustling Broughton Street, this apartment delivers when it comes to location. This is the heart of historic Savannah. From City Market and the vibrant riverfront to award-winning eateries and nightlife, there's no better place to soak up the city's atmosphere. Back home, the living area boasts charming exposed brick and a sofa bed for two. There's also a nice-sized kitchen and a comfortable bedroom. Just keep in mind that being so central does have its drawbacks – parking is a challenge, and the apartment can be noisy. Still, we think that's worth it to be in the centre of the action. 

Savannah Style

This beautiful home has a prime location overlooking the Palmetto Dunes lagoon. Just ten minutes’ walk from Hilton Head’s dazzling sands, it’s an ideal base for a beach holiday. There’s something very classic about the interior, with muted neutrals, layered lighting and high-quality furnishings. The lofty panelled ceilings in the lounge and the Roman-style columns in the entrance hall give an added sense of grandeur to the living space.  Large windows overlook the lagoon and the private pool, where we imagine you’ll spend most of your time. Holidays here are all about enjoying the perks of the Palmetto Dunes community, with three world-class golf courses, a tennis centre, restaurants, shops and free use of the Dunes Buggy. Outdoorsy types will love the forty kilometres of paved bike paths and the Atlantic surf. After a long day of sun, sea and fun, we can see you sipping a Long Island iced tea on one of the deck chairs that have been thoughtfully set up by the lagoon, before enjoying a balmy evening dining on the terrace. Perfection.

White Ibis

Welcome to small but charming Charleston, once again topping Condé Nast Traveler's Readers' Choice Awards. Whether you’re here to explore its colonial architecture, tuck into excellent Creole and BBQ food or savour the blossoming cocktail scene, you’re going to need somewhere to stay smack bang in the heart of the buzz. This home offers this plus elegantly designed spaces, a fully equipped kitchen and – best of all – en-suite shower rooms in al four bedrooms. The open-plan living and dining area is on the cosy side and ideal for a group of four to six guests, with plush grey sofas, velvet bar stools and a humming vintage-style ceiling fan for that quintessential Southern vibe.

Dixie Chic

Located just outside of Charleston's historic downtown area and close to the shops, restaurants and bars of King Street, this home is in an enviable position within the city. And just like its surroundings, the building itself is steeped in history. Built in 1885, it boasts picturesque porches, hardwood floors and a crisp colour scheme. The kitchen is eye-catching with its bright green cabinets, and offers a bold contrast to the elegant Art Deco-inspired living area. Our favourite element, however, is the veranda. No trip to the southern states is complete without at least some of the relaxation taking place on a traditional covered porch, and this home offers a charming one where you can sit and while away the hours with a cool drink. 

Square Dance

There’s a real sense of calm about this newly remodelled beach house. Whether it’s the neutral shades, or the copious amounts of natural light, you’ll find any tension melting away the minute you step through the door.  Located in the sought-after Lawton Woods area of Sea Pines, it’s just a short walk or bike ride from Hilton Head’s glorious beaches. Spend your days soaking up that South Carolina sunshine on the sands, lunching at the oceanfront beach clubs, or exploring Harbour Town’s boutiques, craft shops and chilled out cafes. Back at your tranquil retreat, de-sand the kids, before firing up the grill, ready for an al fresco supper of local seafood. There's plenty of space to stretch out in the living room after dark – watch a movie or simply enjoy chatting over a glass of wine. 

Oystercatcher

Space, warmth and greenery all contribute to the laid-back luxury feel of this modern home. Behind trendy, pale-grey wooden cladding, find an airy open-plan living area, brightly lit by tall windows. It flows on with a kitchen of granite counters, opulent sofas, and a table tennis room with views of the island's famous Greenwood Forest trees. Fall into a relaxed mood, lulled by the gentle maritime blues and calming creams of the décor, among fresh, organic surroundings. Step out to a refreshing pool and sun deck, and of course, alfresco dining next to the gas barbecue comes as standard. Just like this house, the natural world is a huge part of the local area's charm. This whole barrier island is eco-friendly and has a myriad of beaches. The house is in a quiet resort preserve with a protected wildlife forest between it and the mainland. With this location, you’ll feel agreeably separate from big city life. But at just twenty kilometres from crossing state lines into Savannah, Georgia, you can discover boldly flavoured seafood, antebellum architecture, and quirky shops – although it’s unlikely you’ll want to stray so far from your sanctuary.

Woodpecker's Island

If you’re arriving to Savannah by car, be prepared to park it and leave it for your entire stay, because you certainly won’t need it here! This one-bedroom apartment is located right in the heart of the city’s historic district, where there are sights to see right on your doorstep and every destination is walkable. Picturesque Oglethorpe Square is directly across the street, and River Street is just a few minutes away too. Inside, you’ll be just as enamored – think large windows, antique furniture and plenty of original fixtures, remnants of the past in this historic building. There’s lots to see and do in Savannah, but you may not want to leave this charming home.

A Stroll in Savannah

This apartment’s location is fantastic. Situated in Savannah's North Historic District, you’ll be around a five-minute walk from City Market and Plant Riverside. Everything is on your doorstep, in fact this place is above a popular bar and restaurant that has live music, so you will hear some noise here. And as it’s housed in a beautiful historic building, you’ll have stairs to climb (both to reach the apartment and once inside). But it’s worth it as the living room and kitchen are impressive with their stylish interiors and high ceilings. The former also has a comfortable sofa bed for guests five and six. And with all the personal touches here, we’re sure you’ll feel right at home.

Riverfront Retreat

On a picturesque street of swaying palm trees sits this traditional Victorian home. Built in 1885, it has a square, symmetrical exterior, covered porches, high ceilings and exposed beams. Inside, however, the home has been brought bang up to date. A modern kitchen with moody cabinets set the tone for this family home, which casually blends past and present design styles. The living area is just big enough to comfortably seat its eight guests andthere's a wonderful outdoor porch. Upper King Street, with its wide selection of restaurants, bars and shops, is just one block away. Historic downtown Charleston is a little farther away but is no less accessible. Hop in a taxi to be there in moments or make the short twenty-minute walk to admire the city’s rich history.
