The land on which this Plano home sits used to be a set of natural springs, but they have since been dredged and turned into small lakes with habitats for ducks and turtles. What this means for guests coming to stay at the address is that there's a lovely view of peaceful waters to be enjoyed while seated on the covered terrace.

This isn't the only standout outdoor space at the property. Wander to the other side and you'll find an invitingly blue swimming pool and spa surrounded by loungers and a fire pit. Add to that a children's play area, and it's easy to imagine spending most of your time outside here.

This is slightly a shame given how impressive the interior is — the stark white walls, wooden floors and sleek surfaces in the kitchen and bathroom combine together for an atmosphere that's modern but not completely devoid of personality.

In local Plano, both the Heritage Farmstead Museum and the Interurban Railway Museum take around ten minutes to reach in the car. The very centre of Dallas can be reached in just over forty minutes' drive, too.

Built in 1907, this classy crafted home is ideal for groups looking to explore Austin and its history while basing up in a quieter part of town. The home's social areas are full of period character, with the living room flowing into a delightful dining area full of exquisite wooden furnishings. While there are technically four bedrooms, some do come with quirks – though one has an en-suite, two share the same bathroom with doors at either end, while the fourth is technically an exterior sunroom adjoining the pleasant front porch. Lively bars, excellent eateries, and all of Austin's attractions are within easy reach – it's the perfect spot to chill out in between jaunts around the city. The leather sofa is big enough for everyone to sink in, while the kitchen is well-appointed to cook something tasty at home. Outside, you'll find a grill for barbecuing and a seating area that overlooks Big Stacy Park and the Moonlight Tower. If that's not an exciting find, we don't know what is.

Nestled in Telluride, a town tucked in a box canyon surrounded by 13-14,000-foot Colorado mountains, you'll feel blessed to look out on stunning snowy peaks all day long. We know some people aren't keen on getting up early for breakfast (especially on holiday), but the early morning views of the Rocky Mountains from the dining table will be enough to wake up even the heaviest sleeper.

Being situated so close to mountains means only one thing – amazing skiing in close proximity. Within nineteen-minutes you can be at Telluride Ski Resort skiing on some of the best slopes in Colorado, as supported by Condé Nast and Forbes. After days out marvelling at the sights, you can look forward to returning to a home just as special. Cook up a meat feast on the barbeque (you're in Colorado after all) before heading out onto the front porch for amazing stargazing opportunities. Don't worry about getting cold, the porch is heated! But if you'd rather stay cosy inside, why not curl up around the fire in the lounge with a cup of hot cocoa to hand. Wholesome.

Only moments from Telluride's Gondola Plaza, this modern townhouse has been given an Alpine twist – think a feature, black-steel fireplace, a snug cosy reading nook complete with faux fur blankets, and a large grey sofa for cuddling up after days on the slopes. Double-height windows characterise the three-storeys, flooding the space with light and allowing you to check on conditions for the day. There might be squabbles for the master suite, complete with a deep, jet bathtub and its own private balcony with incredible views of the slopes. Come summer, the downstairs balcony has a grill for cooking up a feast, with wrought-iron furniture to watch the world go by.
