Colourful and eclectic, this home is freshly renovated, with modern decor, an open layout to the living space and internal stairs up to its bedrooms. There are some fun furnishings and wall art to give it all some character, and a little terrace area to sit out on with your cup of coffee. But it's the view from the master bedroom's Juliet balcony that really wowed us – just imagine gazing at the mountain across the treetops every morning.

This home is the epitome of indoor/outdoor living, with large patio doors bringing you into the courtyard, which lies between the bedrooms and the living and kitchen area. We love how the wooden beams continue in the courtyard, which is so beautifully decorated that it barely feels like an outdoor area. Surrounded by The Twelve Apostles mountain range and the Atlantic Ocean, this colonial home in Camps Bay's best feature might be the large sash windows that create the illusion of being right in the water. Take advantage of that by watching the tide change from the striped wing chairs, or grab a book from the small library and sink into the brown leather sofa – with the windows open, of course, you want to hear the lapping waves beyond. 

Get the coffee dripping first thing in the morning and once breakfast has been prepared, you can take it all out on the sun terrace where to eat alfresco. Breathe in the fresh, sea salt air from your position on the sunlouger, take a dip in the clear, solar-heated swimming pool, and when lunch inevitably comes around, be sure to try South Africa’s favourite pastime, the braai. If you’re not up for barbecuing, you can of course sample the eateries of the area. There are a couple of restaurants and cafes around a five-minute walk away. 

Spend sundrenched days at the beach – there are plenty of options to explore along the coast, including the famous Clifton Beach. Swim in the Camps Bay Tidal Pool, only a short walk away, or pick any one of the tens of hiking trails around – Lion’s Head is an especially popular choice and the starting point is only seven minutes away by car. 

After a long, tiring day, soak in a bubble bath with a glass of wine in hand. Afterward, why not sit out under the stars with koeksisters or peppermint crisp tart and end the day on a sweet note?

We absolutely love the views over the ocean from this home's communal pool deck. There's a gym for your daily workout and a sky bar, restaurant, lounge, entertainment hub, barbecue area and boutique here, too. The shared facilities are excellent, we have to say. There are more city views and sea glimpses to enjoy from this apartment's private wraparound balcony. Another feature we love is that both bedrooms open onto the terrace and have en-suites. We haven't mentioned the location yet. Well, you'll be near the popular Sea Point Promenade, while the V&A Waterfront is a five to ten-minute drive away.

Trendy Seaside Retreat

You can slide open the glass door and step directly onto the vast terrace and pool area, where you’ll also find a dining table with enough sitting for eight - should you opt for an indoor feast, there's an elegant table here too. On those balmy summer nights gather everyone outside for delicious dinners and barbecues under the stars. On hot afternoons, you can easily spend hours reading and relaxing on the comfy sun loungers by the pool. 

For a night of restful sleep, you’ll have a choice of three equally plush bedrooms, although our personal favourite has to be the master with a sleek ensuite bathroom. Treat yourself to an indulgent bubble bath, before drifting off to the land of sweet dreams in the luxurious king-sized bed.

Head out to find yourself in a lovely neighbourhood, close to the picturesque beaches and with easy access to the centre of Cape Town. Why not start with brunch at your local Bootlegger Coffee Company, located just around the corner from your home.

Playing with raw materials such as brick and concrete, this industrial, loft-style home in the Mother city is not only modern and well located, but the Juliette balcony is another excellent way to feel the pulse of this great city. Watch a romantic sunrise, with cups of sweet coffee in hand, as you snuggle together, or if you’re night owls, you might appreciate cocktails at sunset a lot more. Inside you can finish off breakfast in the sleek kitchenette and enjoy it sitting back in the beautiful, velvet dining chairs. 

Surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and with a gallery in close proximity, you can head out for a dose of Cape Town’s diverse culture - we especially recommend taking a drive through the colourful Bo-Kaap only five minutes away. Shop, eat, and watch the seals play in the harbour at the V&A Waterfront or go in search of Cape Malay cuisine.

Back home, kick off your shoes after a long day of exploring and sink into the plush corner sofa to watch your favourite rom-com whilst sharing a tray of moreish koeksisters.

It won't be long until you crave a beach day, so take a four-minute drive to Camps Bay Beach to wander along the white sand while admiring the scenic mountain views before selecting the right area to relax for the day. Take a drive along the coastal route to Cape Point – the route will take you past breathtaking coastal scenery, including Muizenberg's colourful beach huts, Kalk Bay, Simon's Town, and Boulders Beach to watch the Penguins.
