Rigault Road, Plum Guide home in London

Click to book Rigault Road now: from £451 per night We love how this home in Fulham has fun with itself – it’s easy to tell, even from the moment you first enter, that the owners of this house know that interior decoration should be as much about play as it is about creating an aura of elegance. The classically designed kitchen is sophistication itself, while in the bedrooms William Morris headboards lean against moss green walls, and pink-walled ensuite bathrooms are complemented with marble terrazzo tiling and matte black fixtures. The large ensuite master bathroom’s muted tones also speak of the thoughtfulness that has been put into decorating this home. Downstairs, the open plan living area moves seamlessly from pink to grey – from cosy moments on the sofa to a designated workspace and book-lined walls. There’s also a TV room with a massive grey sofa that’s calling out for cosy movie nights, and a play area that kids and adults are bound to fall in love with. And that’s before we even get to the garden, which although small manages to play host to a picnic table and a water feature. Sleeps up to 8 | 4 Bedrooms | 6 Bathrooms

Click to book Oakwood Court IV now: from £750 per night A period home on one of the most exclusive residential roads in London, this elegant apartment exudes a sense of majesty with its tasteful interior decor and stunning location. Here you'll find a glimpse of the capital's old glamour, with classic details, high ceilings and touches of gold. The sitting room, with its corniced ceiling and sash windows, mixes gilt mirrors and a chandelier with more modern furniture and wall art, while the dining room can be set for eight guests to eat together in style. Although not modern, the kitchen is smart and bright, with marble floor and wall tiling making a real statement. Bedrooms and bathrooms are all of a good size and the master ensuite is particularly glamorous. Set in a grand mansion building in Holland Park, part of Kensington, here you'll be a short stroll from Kyoto Garden and a nice, twenty-five-minute walk from Hyde Park. With Kensingston High Street nearby, the shopping and dining options are staggering. Sleeps up to 8 | 4 Bedrooms | 4 Bathrooms

Teal Garden

Teal Garden, Plum Guide home in London

Click to book Teal Garden now: from £350 per night As soon as you step through the front door of this three-storey house, it’s clear that the owner has invested love and care into making it feel like home. On a quiet street (it really is peaceful for London) in Shepherd’s Bush, it’s just a stone’s throw from the Westfield shopping centre (5 mins) and within easy walking distance of the tube (2 mins), for trains to central. The overall feel is traditional, with wooden floorboards, lots of books and classical furniture. The exception to this is the ultra-modern kitchen, with its high gloss units and skylights, from which bi-fold doors open out completely to a pretty courtyard garden. With its multi-floor layout, it would work well for a group of friends or a family with older children (there’s a twin room and a separate TV area so they can have their own space). Our favourite spot has to be the roof terrace, for morning coffees or evening drinks, before a wander into Shepherd’s Bush for a relaxed pub dinner followed by some live music. Sleeps up to 8 | 3 Bedrooms | 2 Bathrooms

Gilt & Lilies

Wall to ceiling is filled with the attentive details that really make a stay – rows of vintage bottles, artfully distressed wood furniture, burnished fixtures and retro radio. Lounge in the old-school living room with a book, snuggle under luxe linens or catch up around the large dining table. The kitchen is kitted out with all the cookware you could need, plus a stove and oven. The surrounding West Kensington area is home to the Baron’s Court Theatre and Queen’s tennis club. Sleeps up to 6 | 3 Bedrooms | 2 Bathrooms
