Top 20 Santa Monica, Los Angeles vacation rentals & luxury serviced apartments
Venice’s mature older sister, Santa Monica, makes for a quieter and leafier city, although it is still within walking distance from Venice, should you feel like an hour’s stroll along the boardwalk. With a large contingent of British expats, Santa Monica is home to the iconic pier and Pacific Palisades park, which look out over the ocean. The pedestrianised area around 3rd Street Promenade mark a world famous shopping and dining destination, with two cinemas, international chains like Le Pain Quotidien and countless yoga studios catering to sophisticated thirty-somethings. Don’t assume this comes at the expense of character though – there are several wonderful art galleries and boutique clothes stores and the city holds a farmer’s market each Wednesday on Arizona Avenue.
