Top 20 East Harlem, New York vacation rentals & luxury serviced apartments
Sitting just atop the Upper East Side, East Harlem - or Spanish Harlem as it is sometimes referred to as - is a great mix of cultural, historical, and artistic fusion. It's a living, breathing, collision of vibrant immigrant communities which have made it a cultural haven, whether it be for salsa or graffiti. There are plenty of majestic rows of brownstone homes in this area but don't expect the streets to be pristine - it's an area which retains a sometimes slightly grubby authenticity. Downtown might be a little way away - 25 minutes on the 6 train - but there's plenty to explore in Harlem itself and the Upper East Side’s Museum Mile - home to The Jewish Museum, Cooper-Hewitt, the Guggenheim, and more - are all within walking distance. On the plus side, it's a good value base for exploring the nearby Museum Mile.
