Top 20 Times Square, New York vacation rentals & luxury serviced apartments
Times Square, also commonly referred to as “The Crossroads of the World,” is one of New York’s most iconic destinations. Bright billboards and advertisements have been lighting up this corner of Manhattan since the late nineteenth century when it was still known as Longacre Square. It is one of the world’s busiest pedestrian areas, as well as the site of the annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop, which started in 1907, and has been a tradition ever since. It is also at the heart of the Broadway Theatre District, which has been bringing musicals and plays to millions of visitors for generations. Today, the streets are lined with shops and street entertainers. One thing to know – New York is a very busy city (it’s not called “the city that never sleeps” for nothing). As part of an authentic New York experience, you can expect a fair amount of noise and construction coming from the streets, whether it be a passing delivery truck, honking yellow taxis, or roadwork. Remember that those impressive skyscrapers do come at a cost – scaffolding can be part of the architectural landscape.
