This 18th-century apartment set in the 2nd arrondissement is ticking all our boxes with its Juliet balcony windows and Rocaille-style antiques. Each of the three bedrooms is as expertly styled as the next, although if we were being picky, they feel a little short on floor space. But for such an unbeatable central location, we can forgive that. Call in on Mona Lisa at the Louvre Museum. Take a turn around the gardens of the Palais Royal. Or soak up the splendour of Notre Dame. It’s all within easy walking distance in the Montorgueil district.

Rocaille Retreat

If shopping is top of your Paris to-do list, then this home is in the perfect spot. Located at the heart of the city, you’re just a ten-minute stroll from Galeries Lafayette’s flagship store. The home may be compact, as you’d expect for a city centre pad, but large windows make it lovely and light. While the kitchen is fully equipped, it is small, but with restaurants and patisseries aplenty within walking distance, this needn’t be a problem. It’s worth noting that at full capacity two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living area. While the toilet is accessed via the living area, the shower is in the en-suite bathroom, which is only accessible from the bedroom.

This home has all the modernity and style we’ve come to expect from a city loft. Formerly a railway company office, huge, warehouse-style windows fill the place with natural light and the double-height living room is a big open space made for socialising. A mix of pendant lamps and sparkling chandeliers blend industrial-chic with pure Parisian grandeur and we love the quirky touches like graffiti-style art on the wall and a film reel lamp on the coffee table. 

In the open space, you’ll find a dining table for the whole group, a hang-out corner with a sound system and foosball table, and a lounge lined with towering bookshelves. The kitchen is tucked beneath the mezzanine bedrooms and is super sleek in shining chrome. You’re in one of Paris’ artsy and most fashionable neighbourhoods here, packed with trendy bars, bistros and chichi cafés. It’s also only a fifteen-minute walk from the Gare du Nord if you’re arriving by Eurostar, while the Louvre and the Palais Garnier are both less than fifteen minutes away on the metro.

Designed by a renowned architect studio, this elegant townhouse offers a stylish stay in a wonderful location. You can stroll through the Tuileries neighbourhood to the Louvre, Palais Royale and the Place Vendôme. There is no free parking here, but you will find great public transport links and all the amenities you could need are within walking distance. Set across two levels, the rooms are an art lovers dream. Both bedrooms have access to a private bathroom and there is the handy addition of a sofa bed in the living area.

Having said that, a party of four will be quite happy here – just bear in mind that two guests will sleep on the sofa bed if so, and share the en-suite bathroom. We love the typical Haussmannian flair on show here – parquet floors, marble, and ornate mouldings add a level of class to this home. And locally, you’re in for a treat – some of Paris’ most iconic museums and the Palais Garnier are within easy reach.

Located in the heart of Montmartre, this home is steps away from the Musée de Montmartre. The Sacré Coeur is also a short stroll away, and you’ll have a wide variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants on your doorstep. Other attractions include the Galeries Lafayette, around twenty minutes on foot. Back at this home, set on three levels, there are two living areas. One has a small terrace – perfect for an alfresco drink, and another sleeps two guests on a sofa bed at full occupancy. A couple of things to mention – the stairs here are a little steep, and the ceilings are a bit low in places. This place is ideal for friends and families looking for an excellent address.

Rustle up a croque madame in the brass-fitted kitchen to enjoy around the industrial-chic dining table. And with so much to see and do around here, ensure you save time for a little afternoon nap – the moody master bedroom makes for an ideal spot to get some rest. With ethnic ornaments and dramatic lighting, we really loved both rooms. Plus, there's the glamorous black-tiled bathroom that's perfect for getting all dressed up before heading out. You'll find the surrounding area full of life with playful Parisians frequenting an array of hip cocktail bars and luxury boutiques. Plunge into the spirit of Marais by looking around the local art galleries or even walking to Notre Dame Cathedral – it's under twenty minutes away.

La Manufacture du Temple

Boasting a desirable spot in the heart of Paris, this apartment places you only a short walk from the Louvre Museum, Tuileries Garden, and the trendy area of Le Marais. When you're exploring further, you'll also find Sentier Metro station lies just steps away. Note that the home is on the second floor of an apartment building with no lift, so you'll need to climb some stairs here. That said, the apartment is bright and modern, with everything needed for a comfortable stay, including a fully-equipped kitchen and an open dining area for enjoying meals at home – that's if you're not out sampling the local cafes and eateries on your doorstep.

The living area is filled with light, the sleek kitchen has everything you need to rustle up dinner, and the bedroom is a cosy retreat for two. Guests three and four will sleep on a sofa bed, but all in all, it's a fabulous base in the heart of the city.

This room has a low ceiling, so this place may not be suitable for taller guests, otherwise this is a great City of Light pied-à-terre.

Although the location is great, we’ll start with the apartment itself – you can see why with views like this. The vistas from the balcony over the Eiffel Tower, River Seine and the Quai des Orfèvres are fantastic. The open-plan living room and main bedroom have a wonderful outlook too. Now about the location – the home is situated on the exclusive Île de la Cité, so there are plenty of riverside strolls to be had. The nearby iconic Notre-Dame de Paris is also a short walk away, while across the Pont Neuf, you’ll find the Louvre Museum.

Culture lovers will be pleased with this home’s address. The Palais Garnier is a short stroll away, while the Palais-Royal and Louvre Museum are also within walking distance of this apartment. Although it’s worth noting that if three of you share, the last guest will sleep on a sofa bed in the lounge. But for a home with such an impressive location, we can overlook that.

Quality is of the essence – think quartz kitchen worktops, fluffy bath towels, satin bed sheets and carefully selected works of art. And every detail is taken care of, from high-speed wifi and luxe toiletries down to the Nespresso machine for your morning cup of coffee. We loved how bright, quiet and serene the living space was – if it weren't for the great location, we'd never want to leave. Speaking of locales, when you're ready to see what Paris has to offer, you'll be spoilt for choice. This is one of the city's most sought-after neighbourhoods, where museums, monuments and world-class boutiques are around every corner. Stroll five minutes to the Arc de Triomphe and climb to the top for some of the best views in Paris or get your culture game on with an exhibition at Palais de Tokyo, seventeen minutes away on foot (even less by metro). For those wanting a quintessential Parisian experience, look no further.

Come home after a long day and sprawl out on the sofa, nibbling on French cheese, fresh-baked bread and sharing a bottle of wine picked up from the market. We love the exposed brick in the kitchen, the skylights in the bathroom and the soft, modern furnishings. The style is minimal, the living space bright, and the bedroom super comfortable. This flat may be on the smaller side, but we think it'll do nicely for solo travellers and couples wanting to stay in the centre of the action.

It's easy to see why we love this apartment. First, the location is incredible. You're smack-dab in artsy Saint-Germain-des-Prés, one of Paris' most emblematic neighbourhoods. Although we could spend all day discovering the boutiques and eateries here, it's extremely well-connected to the rest of the city if you'd like to venture further afield. Secondly, the apartment itself is a real gem. The design combines traditional features with all the modern conveniences you'll need. Space can be a little tight with the sofa bed in use, but there's plenty of room in the main suite and the second bathroom is a nice bonus. If you're after a quintessentially Parisian experience, this is it.

Convenience is everything for city breaks, and this apartment has convenience at its core. It’s located in the Arts et Métiers district, close to many of Paris’ top attractions. You can stroll to Centre Pompidou and Place de la République in no time, and there are excellent transport links to the rest of Paris. The apartment is compact yet comfortable, equipped with everything you’ll need during your stay in the City of Lights. At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the living room – if you’re hoping for more space and privacy, we recommend sticking to a guest count of two.
