Top 20 Flaminio, Rome vacation rentals & luxury serviced apartments
Lying just north of the city center, on the left side of the river Tiber, Flaminio stretches from Piazza del Popolo all the way up to Ponte Milvio —the Roman "Bridge of the Arts". Named after Via Flaminia — one of the most ancient Roman roads, connecting the capital to the Adriatic Sea — this neighbourhood is more about modern art & architecture than history. It was, indeed only after World War II when Flaminio started to flourish, with magnificent modern buildings rising all around. Strolling in Flaminio means bumping into the Auditorium Parco della Musica designed by Renzo Piano, a symbol of the quality and ingenuity of Italian design, or the MAXXI Modern Art Museum, designed by Zaha Hadid. This neighbourhood will also see the transformation of its military district into a self-sufficient ecosystem —the so called ‘Città della Scienza’— by Studio 015, Paola Viganò Architects.
