Lovingly renovated in 2020, this home in the heart of the Val d’Arly has both charm and location on its side. You don’t have to look far to find proof of the enviable position – simply wander out onto the balcony and you’ll spot the rolling green mountain there as confirmation. But it isn’t just about the views either, not when the ski slopes of Les Evettes are a mere 1.8 miles away and can be reached via the free shuttles that run in season. Get on the snow and test your mettle on the different ski runs, before coming back for a warming Après-ski drink on the balcony. 

The mix of natural wood and a light colour palette makes this home feel incredibly cosy and we can imagine ourselves curling up on the couch in thick socks and a slouchy jumper. Enjoy cups of coffee as you socialise in the lounge, or carve out some you-time by getting your nose in a novel. 

With ample windows, the home is not only bright and inviting, but it means you get to keep an eye on the view even when you’re having a meal at the dining table, or settling in to watch a movie together.

It may be perfectly set up for a skiing holiday, but it’ll tend just as nicely to a nature lover’s green spirit whilst giving the whole group a space in which to relax and rejuvenate. 

The Snowy Villager

This apartment is a one-of-a-kind ski retreat in the heart of Les Arcs, with ski-in/ski-out access directly onto the Cachette slope – making exploring the Paradiski area effortless. After a day on the mountain, unwind with the residence’s amenities, including a swimming pool, sauna and gym. There’s even a ski store so you can make sure you have everything you need. As it's facing the south-west, you can enjoy breathtaking views over the mountains and valley from the terrace. Bourg-Saint-Maurice is easily reached via the nearby funicular, and charming Alpine villages are just a short drive away.

Village View

You might have to pinch yourself when first looking out at the views from this Swiss chalet. Whether it's through the double-height windows or out from the private balcony, the Swiss mountains rise in all their glory. You can look forward to cheese-filled dinners, using the home's raclette grill and fondue set, and curling up by the towering feature fireplace – the vistas of the peaks will backdrop everything you do. Bedrooms are simple and on the bottom floor, ensuring a good night's sleep before taking the ski bus (600m from the home) or setting off on a hike. There's only one deadline to adventures, and that's being back at the balcony for sunset over the snow-capped peaks.

This delightful apartment in France offers beautiful mountain views and a cabin-like feel throughout the entire home. Wooden walls surround you as well as brilliant wooden features as you unwind on the comfy sofa. You'll be accompanied by the wonderful scenery as you watch a movie on the TV, paired with a toasty cup of coffee and a sweet treat. 

The charming kitchen is the perfect spot to whip up a freshly baked dessert or a savoury feast, which can be tucked into at the dining table underneath the mezzanine floor. Head upstairs to sit on the sofa or cushions for some peace and quiet as you delve into a brand-new book. Follow up with a relaxing bubble bath – why not bring a glass of wine with you?

Head out to explore this gorgeous skiing destination, filled to the brim with exciting activities even if you aren't planning on visiting the pistes. Hiking is a popular pass time in the local area, with plenty of picturesque spots to visit that make for the most stunning backdrops for those all-important holiday snaps.

This apartment is nestled in gorgeous Wengen, high in the Swiss Alps. Whether you're visiting in the height of summer or the depths of winter, it's a brilliant place to begin your adventures. 

Step inside and you'll find a modern space with wooden beams and large windows that frame the stunning mountain views outside. You can stretch out on the sofa and gaze out across the valley, or head outside onto the balcony for a better look. And, when you are in need of replenishment, you can head to the kitchen to whip up some hearty dishes – there's even a fondue set for the ultimate post-skiing meal. 

The lifts up to the Jungfrau ski region are only 600m away, so you can be one of the first people on the slopes each day. During the warmer months, you can explore the rugged landscapes on foot or on your bike. And, with a swimming pool, tennis courts, river rafting, and even a paragliding centre nearby, there's an activity to suit everyone. 

Slalom Race

This cosy chalet, with its own private garden and dining area, is the perfect getaway for both summer and winter holidays in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. Start each morning with a cup of coffee alfresco as the crisp, fresh air wakes you up and gets you ready for a day full of adventures. Located just nine minutes away from the nearest ski resort, you can grab your equipment from the home’s dedicated ski storage room and be hitting the slopes in no time.

Why not explore the beautiful central Chamonix – a short ten-minute drive away or head to Le Bossons Glacier, reachable by car within thirteen minutes, and enjoy the breath-taking beauty of the views on offer? For more adventurous activities, tree-top climbing and a rock climbing crag in Lac des Gaillards are both only five minutes away by car, while horse riding is also on offer and can be reached in eleven minutes from this home. 

In the evening, we would love nothing more than to snuggle up in the warmth of this cabin and admire the snowy mountain views outside. Or, curl up on the sofa with a good book from the bookcase.

Peeping over the snowy peaks of Les Gets, this stylish apartment that combines rustic charm and modern design is the perfect alpine escape for a family or group of friends looking for that little bit extra. It's no ordinary ski lodge, with double-height ceilings, skylights, and floor-to-ceiling windows wrapping around half of the living, dining, and kitchen space, creating a bright and comfortable space to unwind after a day on the slopes. 

Inside, the home is instantly inviting, with exposed wooden beams and walls, naturally giving it a cabin feel, while the plush modular sofa, contemporary fireplace and sleek chef's kitchen keep things modern. The open layout provides a sociable area, and when the sun's shining, enjoy dinner and drinks alfresco out on your private terrace offering sublime mountain views. 

If you're not in the mood for cooking, Les Gets offers a great selection of bars and restaurants right on your doorstep. You'll be surrounded by the alpine mountains too, with lifts taking you up to the slopes during the winter months.

Alpine Modern

The views from this chalet will make you smile from the moment of arrival. You’ll also be welcomed by a swimming pool, a sauna and a terrace where you can sit back and savour this majestic location. Inside, the rooms are just as enticing with highlights including the wood-burning fire, a home cinema, a gym and snug bedrooms (all of which come with ensuite bathrooms). Adventure lovers will find perfect contentment in this location with easy access hiking trails and the nearby pistes – just a short drive or bus ride away. 

Perfect Happiness 

While this chalet in Rairettes was built in 2013, its wooden walls, arched ceilings and slate roof make it feel quintessentially old-school Swiss. There's a smart twist, however, with floor-to-ceiling windows at the front of the home that give unparalleled views over the snow-capped mountains. Whether you're cooking in the pine kitchen, cuddled round the feature fireplace or squashed onto the crushed velvet sofa, eyes will invariably gaze out over the magnificent vistas. In the summer, it's out to the home's balcony and grassy garden for barbecues, alfresco feasts, and even a spot of tanning on the loungers if it's warm enough. Mountain trails – both hiking and skiing – can be found not far from the plot for days exploring ridges and new pastures. When you're done, head back to the plush pad for evening soaks in the deep bathtub or a session in the private sauna.

Clouds Reach

There's nothing shy or retiring about this Swiss chalet, where bigger is better. Set against a backdrop of towering peaks and dramatic vistas, this home has taken some of that theatre to heart. The living room is huge, with a gigantic fuchsia sofa that could fit your party – and then some – in front of a feature brick fireplace. The kitchen is well-equipped with traditional goodies, including a fondue set and raclette grill, providing fodder for epic feasts. The slopes are only 100m away – the ski lift is a kilometre away – meaning competent skiers can strap up and just speed off on a day's adventure. Big baths await to soak tired muscles in bedrooms and bathrooms, our favourite being the stretched tub in the master suite – we're pretty sure there's room for two. If you're visiting in summer, a spacious garden and terrace furniture is perfect for catching the sunset, and if you need a break from all that cheese, you can fire up the barbecue.

Surprise Me

We love the views over to Mont-Blanc from the terrace of this home. Inside, the living space has the wow factor and the owners’ love of art, design, and architecture shows in the decoration and furnishings. This place is perfect for family or friends with its cosy fireplace, sauna, TV and games area, and dormitory room that the children will love. There’s also a reading corner and an office space for when you need to catch up on work. Set at the end of a private road on the edge of the forest, this home has a wonderful location. It’s 500 metres from the ski lifts and offers easy access to hiking and bike trails.

Alpine Sojourn

This bright and cosy apartment built in 1900 awaits you in Switzerland, granting you beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and verdant landscape. If you’ve been craving a rural escape, you’re in luck. While there is no TV, you and your loved ones can spend every moment together relaxing in the living space as you enjoy a board game no matter the time of day. There’s also a yoga mat that is perfect to use for a fabulous session that’s accompanied by a gorgeous backdrop of the scenery. 

Snuggle up on the sofa to read a book as the natural daylight pours in through the large windows that are found throughout the open space. Whip up delicious home-cooked meals in the royal blue kitchen, and tuck into tasty plates of food at the long dining table by the windows.
