It's plain to see that somebody with a real eye for design has worked their magic on this townhouse found in the coastal town of Calp. Everywhere you look inside, there are tasteful touches, from the dining table made from a repurposed door and the unashamedly bright colours on the walls to the sheer range of objets d'art dotted about the home.

We're also happy to say that there's plenty of substance behind this style. The sleek black kitchen not only looks the part, but it's also well-equipped for whipping up a feast. We're also fond of the terrace, which has views out over the rooftops and verdant hillsides beyond.

When you're ready to get to know the locale a little better, you'll be surprised at how much there is to see. All of three minutes' walk from the home is Torreó de la Peça, the centuries-old defensive walls built to protect the town from marauders. Arena-Bol beach is a ten-minute walk, while further along the coastline, it's possible to head up to the top of Penyal d'Ifac in just over an hour on foot for some incredible views.

This single-level, modern villa on the Costa Blanca has all the ingredients for a great holiday. There are a good-sized private pool, nice garden and several terraces to enjoy – one of which is covered for some alfresco dining. The living room and bedrooms all have air conditioning and there is a woodburner for those chillier days. You can go sightseeing or soak up some culture in the nearby town of Moraira. For the adventure-seekers, there are activities such as snorkelling, kayaking and wind-surfing five kilometres down the road.

Situated just a short drive from the coastal town of Moraira, this modern villa is a great base for a family stay on the Costa Blanca. You’ll need a car to reach the beach and explore the local area, but you’ll also have fabulous sea views to take advantage of back home. Our eye was immediately drawn to the outdoor areas – hello, private pool – and the villa's stylish and light-filled interiors are the icing on the cake. There are some steep stairs to climb inside, though – it may not suit guests with reduced mobility.

With easy access to eateries and bars, this villa invites your family to stay two kilometres from the Castillo de Moraira and a small-town promenade. Come and sunbathe on Platja de l'Ampolla before driving inland to Costa Blanca's most famous climb at Coll de Rates. On the terrace, there's a barbecue and a little outdoor kitchen, so you can enjoy poolside snacks and sip sundowners with sea views.

Just a ten-minute drive inland from the picturesque town of Altea (and don’t worry, you will pass beaches en route), you’ll love unwinding in this zen-like villa. 

Traditional whitewashed walls and a terracotta roof are right on par with what you might expect in the area. But as you step inside, passing interesting shrubbery and succulents outside, the vibe is altogether more modern. We love the fresh and bright living space, with a cherry-red sofa suite and an ornately carved, wooden cabinet. Oversized bamboo canes and a woven lampshade complete the look as you move to the sunroom – a striking cylindrical structure that really sets the architecture apart from rustic traditions.

From here, peer out to your secluded gardens. Lush, green, and shaded by palms, the immaculate lawn surrounds a private, heated pool. Wander around to find orange trees popping up in the grass, and terracotta tiles leading up a staircase to the roof terrace – it's much easier to survey your kingdom from up here.

Situated in Jávea, you’ll be just five kilometres from sandy beaches and the Medieval streets of the old town. Situated high up in the hills, you’ll have plenty of peace, privacy and incredible views over the mountains and valley, but bear in mind that a car is necessary to reach the villa. If you’d rather not venture out, three levels offer plenty of space to relax, plus a garden containing a private pool and Jacuzzi for those alfresco evenings. 

Hillside History 

Set against an eye-catching mountain backdrop, this home comprises two separate villas rented out together, so is a great choice for two families or groups of friends holidaying together. As well as a private pool, the lush gardens have lots of extra features, including a yoga gazebo, Balinese day bed, and fruit tree orchard. And inside, there’s plenty of space for everyone to find a bit of privacy when they want it. Location-wise, the villa is near a twenty-seven-hole golf course and a day spa, with the tourist destinations of Denia and Javea also within easy reach.

Shade of the Sun

This holiday villa has its own heated pool and great views of the sea from its balcony. Spread over two floors, it might not be the best choice for less mobile guests. With bikes available for free and a range of children's equipment available to rent, we think this home is great for families with young children. Within a twenty-minute walk, you'll reach the nearest beaches and central Moraira, known for its historic castle and great restaurants.

The eight private parking spaces keep things easy when it’s time to explore – starting at the coveted beaches of Benissa, just a five-kilometre drive away. Kids will thank you for that outdoor cinema room to crash out in the evening. And you’ll all love the ambient tropical garden terraces to toast the day’s end.

There’s nothing noteworthy about this home’s interior, but there’s plenty of space for a large group to spread out. And although not every room benefits from air conditioning, there’s a private pool at your disposal if you need to cool down when temperatures reach their peak.

Dreams of Amarillo

In Spain’s Marina Alta region, a coastal area between Valencia and Murcia, the beaches and rugged cliffs are some of the country’s finest sights. But inland, the small towns dotted across the area also offer plenty of delights. Ten minutes from Benissa, this villa feels far enough away from the bustling streets, but it’s not so isolated that you can’t head out to pick up a bottle of local wine. 

We love the traditional appearance of the home. Its curved white walls, natural stone trim, and terracotta roof – with rooftop terrace – look fabulous in contrast to the bright blue of the pool. Set in lush lawns with palm trees swaying above, you’ll love spending time outside with a bowl of olives and an afternoon tipple. 

But this home’s true character can be found indoors, and it feels somewhat 70s. Wander into the living space to find a unique space where arched windows open up to the gardens and rich, hardwood beams support the ceiling in a starburst shape. You might prefer to sit on the bamboo chairs in the sunroom as you sip your morning coffee, but the stone fireplace will keep you warm on rare, chilly evenings.

With over 300 days of sunshine a year, the refreshing crystal clear pool in this rural villa near Moraira will be put to good use. Enjoy lunch alfresco under the pergola of the terracotta terrace before spending the afternoon on the white sandy beaches of the Costa del Sol, less than ten-minutes drive away. When you’re suitably rejuvenated from your dose of vitamin D and the sound of the gently lapping waves, head back to your secluded home for a barbecue before enjoying an evening in front of the crackling fire in the spacious living room, complete with the Spanish arches. After a sound night’s sleep, wake up to coffee on the rooftop overlooking the panoramic views of the countryside. And a little more sunshine.

Due to its low-key location, renting a car here is advised to make the most of the surrounding coastline and resort towns. Meanwhile, you'll find home comforts and privacy at the villa. From the private swimming pool to the open sun terrace and the sheltered alfresco dining spot, there are plenty of places to relax before the views. The outdoor barbecue and kitchen are where you'll likely want to be at meal times. 




Spanish Style

Smack bang in the heart of delightful Dénia, this no-fuss apartment is perfect for couples or solo travellers looking for some rest and relaxation on the Costa Blanca. Inside, the place strikes a balance between comfort and function. There’s a compact kitchen equipped for quick meals and a quiet bedroom to ensure a peaceful sleep night after night. But it was the view that was our favourite part. We could’ve spent hours on that modular chair, watching the palm trees sway and the boats to and fro from the harbour, only breaking our gaze to open a bottle of Rioja as the sun sets. Spend mornings exploring your locale – you’re a ten-minute walk from the Dénia Castle and eighteen minutes from the Marineta Casiana Beach. If you’re feeling curious, take the twenty-minute drive to Parc Natural del Montgó for stunning hiking routes or catch the ferry from the port to the dazzling Balearic Islands. 

Where The Boats Go By

The green vistas and pretty enclosed gardens of this traditional villa perched on the hillsides of Javea are charming. Well-geared for family holidays close to the sea, kids will love you for that outdoor playground and trampoline, and you'll all appreciate those shady terraces and private pool when it's time to beat the heat. Location-wise, you're just a five-kilometre drive to the horseshoe-shaped El Arenal Beach. With shallow waters and gently shelving sands, it's perfect for little ones. 

Casa de Sal

Mountain views, a private pool and contemporary rooms – this home welcomes you to enjoy it all from the hills of Jávea. Set across three floors, the house offers plenty of chill-out spots along with a hot tub, exercise equipment and an office for remote workers. It’s also family-friendly with cots and high chairs available on request and a children’s zone in the swimming pool. You will need a car to get around here, but it’s just 5 kilometres to the beach and the centre of Jávea. 

Serene Escape

The blue of the pool vanishes into the blue of the sky at Flamenco Azul. The infinity pool inspires quiet contemplation as you look down onto the fishing village of Moraira. Gear change from reflective to raucous in moments as you move between sipping champagne in the jacuzzi to a balcony barbecue. On rainier days, the utterly enormous sofa invites you to lounge with a family movie, clutching a Nespresso from the machine. But those days will be few – it is Spain, after all.

Can you see it? Breakfast alfresco in the loggia and afternoon drinks under the sun umbrella right next to the tree? Steal away for a cup of coffee at the small two-seater table on the secluded patio and bask in the sun on one of the sunloungers when you’re not paddling in the cool waters of the private pool. Grab the wine and nibbles and sit back next to the barbecue as you fire up the grill for dinner. Though the style is on the simpler side, it has everything a family or small group needs for a memorable Mediterranean retreat. Boasting gorgeous views, a private pool, and space for alfresco dining, this villa guarantees a stylish stay. It's not suitable for young children due to the lack of fencing in the some of the outdoor areas and the pool, but there are ground-floor bedrooms and bathrooms, and a double sofa bed for some extra flexibility in the sleeping arrangements. We highly recommend having a car here, but it's not far to drive into the centre of Jávea or the nearby golf course. Further away, you'll find spectacular days out in the bustling city of Alicante and its beautiful beaches.

This spacious and well-located villa is split across two floors, creating two separate apartments – each with its own entrance. Both levels have their own bedrooms, kitchen, living room, dining area, and swimming pool – one on each side of the property. We think it's an excellent option for two families or a large group of friends holidaying together in Calp. The interiors are quite basic and the decor is dated – but there's plenty of room here and the home has all of the necessary amenities you need for a comfortable self-catered stay. We recommend a car for ease – some beautiful sandy beaches are just a short drive away.

Coastal Refuge

This holiday haven is located on the gorgeous Costa Blanca, just a short drive from the stunning Cala El Raco beach, and within walking distance of some lovely bars and restaurants in Calpe. Peaceful and private, this home features a lovely garden with swaying palms and sun loungers, with a large private pool where you can cool off on hot days. The views from here are exquisite – you can gaze out at rolling hills and quaint villages while you sip your morning coffee.

Sunny days spent beside the pool and evenings of Sangria and glittering city lights. This villa is a lovely spot for a getaway with friends or family. It’s just outside of the centre of Benissa, where you’ll find countless wonderful restaurants and shops, just a short drive away. The nearest beach – Cala Baladrar  – is 3.4 kilometres from the villa, so you can look forward to building sandcastles and swimming in the sea. Or you might find yourself content to spend your stay at the villa. 

The villa sits in the hills high above the coast, and offers stunning views of the sea and the town. Your private swimming pool sits on a fabulous terrace with far-reaching views, and enough space for everyone in your party. While the kids splash about in the pool, soak up the sun on a lounger and sip freshly squeezed juice. When the sun is at its hottest, move into the shade of the pergola or slip inside for a peaceful siesta.

You might head into Benissa for dinner or dine alfresco on the terrace at the villa. You could try your hand at paella, or fire up the barbecue and grill freshly caught seafood. There are two kitchens here so there’s no excuse not to flex those culinary muscles. 


Bonita Blues

This spacious and well-located villa is a good option for a family or group of friends wanting to holiday in Denia, Costa Blanca. There's a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living room area to relax in – albeit a little dated in terms of decor. Equipped for all seasons, there's a fireplace for cooler evenings and air conditioning for the summer months. We love the lawned gardens surrounding this family-friendly home – they boast superb sea and mountain views and include a large private pool and BBQ area too. While you can explore the local area on foot, we suggest a car for ease – Parc Natural del Montgó is less than 2km from the villa.

Waves & Water

Set 3 kilometres inland, this sea-facing villa is the perfect pick for two couples planning a beach holiday on the Costa Blanca. It's not suited to little ones, yet this home offers a bright and minimalist interior for post-adventure siestas. While we think you'll gather for poolside sunbathing and alfresco dining, there's plenty of room to split off for sunset tipples on the balcony. A car is recommended to go 3.5 kilometres to central Calpe, but on-site parking makes exploration easy.

An Island In The Sun

Overlooking the shimmering shoreline of Benissa with the beach just a short walk away, this whitewashed villa opens its doors to a rejuvenating coastal escape.
