It's plain to see that somebody with a real eye for design has worked their magic on this townhouse found in the coastal town of Calp. Everywhere you look inside, there are tasteful touches, from the dining table made from a repurposed door and the unashamedly bright colours on the walls to the sheer range of objets d'art dotted about the home.

We're also happy to say that there's plenty of substance behind this style. The sleek black kitchen not only looks the part, but it's also well-equipped for whipping up a feast. We're also fond of the terrace, which has views out over the rooftops and verdant hillsides beyond.

When you're ready to get to know the locale a little better, you'll be surprised at how much there is to see. All of three minutes' walk from the home is Torreó de la Peça, the centuries-old defensive walls built to protect the town from marauders. Arena-Bol beach is a ten-minute walk, while further along the coastline, it's possible to head up to the top of Penyal d'Ifac in just over an hour on foot for some incredible views.

This single-level, modern villa on the Costa Blanca has all the ingredients for a great holiday. There are a good-sized private pool, nice garden and several terraces to enjoy – one of which is covered for some alfresco dining. The living room and bedrooms all have air conditioning and there is a woodburner for those chillier days. You can go sightseeing or soak up some culture in the nearby town of Moraira. For the adventure-seekers, there are activities such as snorkelling, kayaking and wind-surfing five kilometres down the road.

This spacious and well-located villa is split across two floors, creating two separate apartments – each with its own entrance. Both levels have their own bedrooms, kitchen, living room, dining area, and swimming pool – one on each side of the property. We think it's an excellent option for two families or a large group of friends holidaying together in Calp. The interiors are quite basic and the decor is dated – but there's plenty of room here and the home has all of the necessary amenities you need for a comfortable self-catered stay. We recommend a car for ease – some beautiful sandy beaches are just a short drive away.

There’s space for all twenty of your crew (including four-legged friends) at this hacienda, offering knockout vistas of the Benissa countryside. With a separate interior apartment alongside the main house and countless private verandas leading off the bedrooms, it’s an excellent option for an extended family looking to holiday together without crowding each other. The eight private parking spaces keep things easy when it’s time to explore – starting at the coveted beaches of Benissa, just a five-kilometre drive away. Kids will thank you for that outdoor cinema room to crash out in the evening. And you’ll all love the ambient tropical garden terraces to toast the day’s end.

This holiday villa has its own heated pool and great views of the sea from its balcony. Spread over two floors, it might not be the best choice for less mobile guests. With bikes available for free and a range of children's equipment available to rent, we think this home is great for families with young children. Within a twenty-minute walk, you'll reach the nearest beaches and central Moraira, known for its historic castle and great restaurants.

Enjoying an enviable position on Spain’s Costa Blanca, this vibrant home is within easy walking distance of Calpe’s best beaches. Cala La Calalga’s the closest, but the others are worth a visit too – not to mention, you’re just a short drive from Penyal d'Ifac Natural Park, one of the most scenic hiking spots this side of the Balearic. There’s nothing noteworthy about this home’s interior, but there’s plenty of space for a large group to spread out. And although not every room benefits from air conditioning, there’s a private pool at your disposal if you need to cool down when temperatures reach their peak.

Dreams of Amarillo

Set 3 kilometres inland, this sea-facing villa is the perfect pick for two couples planning a beach holiday on the Costa Blanca. It's not suited to little ones, yet this home offers a bright and minimalist interior for post-adventure siestas. While we think you'll gather for poolside sunbathing and alfresco dining, there's plenty of room to split off for sunset tipples on the balcony. A car is recommended to go 3.5 kilometres to central Calpe, but on-site parking makes exploration easy.

An Island In The Sun

Surrounded by castles and monuments, and with the beach only minutes away, this Benissa villa gives you access to some of the best bits of the Costa Blanca. The beach is minutes away, historical monuments are scattered around, and there's even an option for snorkelling and windsurfing. From the poolside terrace, you can look out across the water as the ocean lies on the horizon – better even to get up higher for a better vantage point. Though the style might not suit everyone, this home is comfortable and well-positioned.

The blue of the pool vanishes into the blue of the sky at Flamenco Azul. The infinity pool inspires quiet contemplation as you look down onto the fishing village of Moraira. Gear change from reflective to raucous in moments as you move between sipping champagne in the jacuzzi to a balcony barbecue. On rainier days, the utterly enormous sofa invites you to lounge with a family movie, clutching a Nespresso from the machine. But those days will be few – it is Spain, after all.

Enjoy lunch alfresco under the pergola of the terracotta terrace before spending the afternoon on the white sandy beaches of the Costa del Sol, less than ten-minutes drive away. Situated in Benitachell, just a ten-minute drive away from Moraig Beach, you'll be in a prime position for exploring the sandy shores of the Alicante coastline – with plenty of shops, bars and waterfront restaurants waiting to be discovered.

Situated just a short drive from the coastal town of Moraira, this modern villa is a great base for a family stay on the Costa Blanca. You’ll need a car to reach the beach and explore the local area, but you’ll also have fabulous sea views to take advantage of back home. Our eye was immediately drawn to the outdoor areas – hello, private pool – and the villa's stylish and light-filled interiors are the icing on the cake. There are some steep stairs to climb inside, though – it may not suit guests with reduced mobility.

From lazy days on the seafront (just 900 metres away) to sunset swims in the private pool, you’ll find everything you could need for a rejuvenating stay. It’s also family-friendly with children’s amenities available on request and plenty of socialising space both inside and out. Private parking is available here and your host is on hand to help organise airport transfers and excursions. 


Glory of the Sun

Boasting gorgeous views, a private pool, and space for alfresco dining, this villa guarantees a stylish stay. It's not suitable for young children due to the lack of fencing in the some of the outdoor areas and the pool, but there are ground-floor bedrooms and bathrooms, and a double sofa bed for some extra flexibility in the sleeping arrangements. We highly recommend having a car here, but it's not far to drive into the centre of Jávea or the nearby golf course. Further away, you'll find spectacular days out in the bustling city of Alicante and its beautiful beaches.

Can you see it? Breakfast alfresco in the loggia and afternoon drinks under the sun umbrella right next to the tree? Smack bang in the heart of delightful Dénia, this no-fuss apartment is perfect for couples or solo travellers looking for some rest and relaxation on the Costa Blanca. Inside, the place strikes a balance between comfort and function. There’s a compact kitchen equipped for quick meals and a quiet bedroom to ensure a peaceful sleep night after night. But it was the view that was our favourite part. We could’ve spent hours on that modular chair, watching the palm trees sway and the boats to and fro from the harbour, only breaking our gaze to open a bottle of Rioja as the sun sets. Spend mornings exploring your locale – you’re a ten-minute walk from the Dénia Castle and eighteen minutes from the Marineta Casiana Beach. If you’re feeling curious, take the twenty-minute drive to Parc Natural del Montgó for stunning hiking routes or catch the ferry from the port to the dazzling Balearic Islands.

In a quiet, residential area of Moraira, this villa is all about spending time together in the sun. There’s a rustic Spanish feel to the terracotta terrace where a turquoise pool awaits for cooling dips throughout the day. Set up for sundowners at the poolside bar and barbecue to your heart’s content in the brick summer kitchen. A secluded little playpark lets you know this place is family-friendly too. Inside, you’ve got two separate apartments all to yourself, each with its own zen-like living, kitchen and dining room. Cala Andrago is the closest beach, just 500 metres away.

High in the hills, less than 10 minutes by car from the charming town of Calp, this traditional home peeks over the sapphire Mediterranean and rugged, rolling countryside. Carved out of local stone and supported by solid wood, the ceiling beams converge from smooth, curved walls and over the galley kitchen. Mismatched furniture adds a cosy, old-timey ambience – we’re particularly fond of the antique chandeliers. Outside, a staircase spirals down to the pool terrace with sun-soaked loungers and stunning views across Calp. When you aren’t swimming laps in the private pool, find a quiet spot on the lesser-known Playa de Port Blanc – there’s a fantastic restaurant nearby for when you get peckish. In the evening, retreat back home to your balcony to watch the sunset behind the mighty Peñón de Ifach – perfectly framed by stone arches, it’s a snapshot you’ll never forget.

Where Montgo Natural Park meets the marine reserve of Cap de Sant Antoni, you are truly in the heart of it all at this three-level mountain mansion here in Valencia. Panoramic views wrap around the whole villa, surrounding you with stunning scenery that stretches right from the valley down to the sea. From sofa seating on the balcony to pool loungers and cushioned benches down in the garden, there are no cheap seats here. Swap a view of the mountainside for proximity to the grand swimming pool, with plenty of spots to relax. With an outdoor shower, barbecue and multiple dining areas, you can spend your days basking in the Spanish sunshine. Local activities include golf at the local course, a surf-and-sailing school and tennis, as well as boat trips out to nearby islands.
