Smack bang in the heart of delightful Dénia, this no-fuss apartment is perfect for couples or solo travellers looking for some rest and relaxation on the Costa Blanca. Inside, the place strikes a balance between comfort and function. There’s a compact kitchen equipped for quick meals and a quiet bedroom to ensure a peaceful sleep night after night. But it was the view that was our favourite part. We could’ve spent hours on that modular chair, watching the palm trees sway and the boats to and fro from the harbour, only breaking our gaze to open a bottle of Rioja as the sun sets. Spend mornings exploring your locale – you’re a ten-minute walk from the Dénia Castle and eighteen minutes from the Marineta Casiana Beach. If you’re feeling curious, take the twenty-minute drive to Parc Natural del Montgó for stunning hiking routes or catch the ferry from the port to the dazzling Balearic Islands.

This spacious and well-located villa is a good option for a family or group of friends wanting to holiday in Denia, Costa Blanca. There's a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living room area to relax in – albeit a little dated in terms of decor. Equipped for all seasons, there's a fireplace for cooler evenings and air conditioning for the summer months. We love the lawned gardens surrounding this family-friendly home – they boast superb sea and mountain views and include a large private pool and BBQ area too. While you can explore the local area on foot, we suggest a car for ease – Parc Natural del Montgó is less than 2km from the villa.

Just 5 kilometres from the sandy Playa s'Arenal and surf school, the outdoor hangouts don't have to stop at this home. There's a sprawling garden and a private pool to enjoy in your downtime. Overlooking the countryside, the upstairs terrace is the go-to dining spot. You won't have access to the unoccupied parts of this villa. But it's best suited to families of up to six, as long as one guest doesn't mind sleeping on a pull-out bed. With an open-hearth fireplace, cosy winter getaways are on the cards, too.

If you fancy it, Arenal beach is less than a fifteen-minute drive away. But it won’t be long until you're back home on the terrace living the good life –  barbecue lit, glass of Priorat red in hand, watching the palm trees sway in the breeze.

Sure, this apartment in the heart of Javea might be a little simple when it comes to interior design, but people don't come to this corner of Spain to be wowed by home decor – not when there's a wealth of exemplary beaches, hiking routes and seafront restaurants that lie within easy walking distance to explore. That's not to say you'll dread returning home, however. For instance, the balcony – while small – has a rather charming view of the town's port and the Mediterranean Sea stretching into the distance.

You’ll love taking your morning coffee out onto the balcony before heading up to the rooftop for some good, old-fashioned R & R in the sun. Alternatively, start the day with a little cardio in the gym, followed by a sweat session in the sauna. Sitting just 650 metres from the beach and 3 kilometres from the centre of Dénia, this practical apartment offers a fuss-free getaway with plenty of opportunities to soak up the Spanish sun. With two separate terraces offering outdoor seating and alfresco dining options, you can work on your tan with ease. Alternatively, you can head down to the communal pool for a refreshing dip, or make a beeline for the nearby sands. While the home’s interiors are a little generic for our liking and there are some steep internal stairs leading to the upstairs bedroom, this pad’s locale more than makes up for any shortcomings. 


The Royal Span

Nestled at the base of Parc Natural del Montgó, this Costa Blanca hideaway has relaxation written all over it. Although we're not huge fans of the interior design, we do love the garden and its Massís del Montgó scenery. Private pool, rooftop terrace, bubbling hot tub (which requires a weekly fee to use) – chances are, you'll spend most of your getaway alfresco, soaking up the Spanish sun. Keen to explore? Not a problem, since Dénia, Platja de l'Arenal and Javea are all within driving distance.

Surrounded by bars and restaurants, nightclubs and cultural landmarks, this somewhat secluded villa in Dénia is only 500m from Las Marinas Beach. So close to so many sights like the Castell de Dénia, you'll have the best of both worlds by being able to keep busy on the golf course, promenade or hiking routes like Via Verda de Dénia, or opt for more laid-back days in the garden where you'll find the private pool and shaded patio table surrounded by lush greenery.

Located in a popular destination in the eastern part of Spain, this home is the perfect base for a beach holiday. The sand and sea are a five-minute drive away, or if you want to make sure you hit your 10,000 steps a day, it’s a half hour walk. If you want to hole up and not leave the apartment, you'll find plenty to keep you entertained. This immaculately presented villa is made for family holidays close to the sea. The picturesque historic town of Javea, with its fine sandy shores and water sport action, is within five kilometres of the villa – as are those seafront restaurants and bars for an easy bite to eat. Back home, kids will love you for the lengthy swimming pool and lawns for a runabout. And you’ll all appreciate those shady terraces with views of the surrounding Montgo Mountain when it’s time to beat the heat. And there’s no need to tussle for the best room here – each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and direct access to those stylish verandas outside. 

The Chasing Star

Rarely veering from a black-and-white colour scheme, the interior of this apartment is solid, if a little unremarkable, when taken on its own merits. Thankfully, there are lots of outdoor amenities that bump it up the pecking order. Not only is there a covered balcony with a view of the surrounding valley, but there's also a private rooftop terrace on which to soak up some rays. Add to that a communal swimming pool back down at ground level, plus Arenal Beach only two hundred metres from the front door, and it's never been easier to bask in the Mediterranean's glorious climate.

The Knight of the Sun

Situated in the Montgó district, at the foot of the Montgó Natural Park and just 3 kilometres from the centre of desirable Dénia and the beach – this home has a great address. There are sea vistas from the balcony and terrace and a private swimming pool to cool off from the Costa Blanca heat. Inside, yes, the kitchen is a little dated for some tastes, but we're sure you'll soon forget about that when you see the Mediterranean Sea views. One thing to note with this home, though, is the third bedroom on the upper floor is accessed via an external spiral staircase. That said, it may appeal to members of the group who want a bit more privacy.

The White Star

This is a villa that will have even the most hard-to-please guests grinning. A lot of that is down to its fabulous views of the glistening Mediterranean and Isla del Portitxol, but special praise also goes to the peaceful swimming pool surrounded by treetops and the covered terrace complete with an alfresco dining table. Although some of the bathrooms are a little dated, we've only got kind words for the three-level layout – we particularly love the main bedroom with a sea-facing balcony. To top it all off, you don't have far to venture for beautiful gold-sand beaches, either.

The Spanish Riviera

A ten-minute drive from the centre of Javea, this charming villa offers sun, relaxation and access to Spain’s beautiful Costa Blanca. Golf courses, horseriding and hiking in the hills are all on offer from your doorstep. While the furnishings aren’t the most modern – plastic chairs outside and a fairly sparse living area inside – the peaceful location is what drew us to this villa. Plus, the swimming pool is vast, there’s a charm to the living room with its traditional fireplace and the kitchen has everything you need for self-catering.  

A Twist of Time

This apartment is nestled on the coast of the historic Javea, a short walk from the sea. The central location means parking will be tricky, but you'll be close to public transport. You'll want to pack light here – the home is small, but has everything needed for a fuss-free stay. We especially like the private balcony, which offers natural light and enough space to sit out with a drink. If you want a base for exploring the town and coastline, you can't get much closer to the action.

Enjoy a sublime stay at this spectacular holiday villa, based just a 10-minute drive to Arenal beach. This bungalow offers plenty of space for the whole group to spread out and relax, along with bags of Spanish style that make it feel fresh and elegant. It also features a stunning outdoor space, with a lawned garden that little ones can run around in, plus a stunning outdoor pool that sparkles in the sunshine. There’s also a covered terrace that makes a great spot for alfresco dining, or sundowners with loved ones.

Wake up on sunny mornings and head outside to lay on a lounger with a freshly squeezed orange juice and a good book. As the heat rises, get some shade under one of the leafy trees, or cool off with a swim and a splash in the pool. If you want to venture out, head to Arenal beach for sunbathing and sea-swimming, or tee off at Javea’s golf course, based just 5km away. Head home and fire up the barbecue to grill some Spanish chicken and dine all together around your alfresco table. In the evenings, gather on your shaded terrace and toast to your beautiful getaway.


Sparkling Opal

Situated a short walk from Primer Muntanyar Beach, this inviting apartment is perfect for short breaks or longer stays on the Northern Costa Blanca. Inside, it’s bright, breezy and homespun – we particularly loved the playful mismatched furnishings in the living space. Begin your mornings with breakfast in the sunroom before finding a quiet spot in the gardens to relax with a good book. Cool off with a leisurely swim in the communal pool or drive over to Platja de l'Arenal and bob about in the calm Mediterranean Sea. 

When lunchtime rolls around, try out one of Jávea’s waterfront restaurants then stroll around the old town’s narrow streets with an ice cream in hand. Return home in the early evening for a glass or two of your favourite tipple as the sky turns apricot. 

Comes the Dawn

Set within established and oh-so-peaceful gardens, you'd hardly believe this home is so close to Denia's bustle. You're just 500 metres away from the sandy shores of La Marinas and five kilometres from the history-rich streets of Denia – considered one of Costa Blanca's most desirable coastal towns. Back home, this traditional villa is well suited for guests looking for a little extra privacy, with each light-filled bedroom offering a separate bathroom. Though prepare to tussle for the primary bedroom with a ginormous freestanding bath in the en-suite and garden views to boot.
