Sunflower Sonnet

This dreamy duplex in Javea Port boasts a beautiful balcony and expansive rooftop terrace as well as access to a gym, sauna and indoor and outdoor communal swimming pools. Situated within a gorgeous garden and pool complex, and surrounded by tropical plants, palm trees and sandstone-coloured walkways, this sensational Spanish home is sure to seduce. Featuring a well-equipped kitchen and open plan dining cum living room complete with a ravishing red sofa and matching footstool, this two-bedroom home is family friendly and fuss free. 

You’ll love taking your morning coffee out onto the balcony before heading up to the rooftop for some good, old-fashioned R & R in the sun. Alternatively, start the day with a little cardio in the gym, followed by a sweat session in the sauna. In the summer months you’re bound to spend hours luxuriating in the outdoor pool or jacuzzi in the garden while at chillier times why not opt for the heated indoor pool?  

If you fancy getting out and about, you’ll find your home’s privileged location a leisurely ten-minute stroll from Javea Port’s pretty marina and ‘La Grave’ stone strewn beach a blessing. Peruse the local boutiques or sample one of its restaurants or bars, wander up to the historic Old Town or saunter alongside the seaside until you reach sandy Arenal beach. If you’re game for some golf, two golf courses, including the Championship ‘La Sella’, are within a fifteen-minute drive.

Sure, this apartment in the heart of Javea might be a little simple when it comes to interior design, but people don't come to this corner of Spain to be wowed by home decor – not when there's a wealth of exemplary beaches, hiking routes and seafront restaurants that lie within easy walking distance to explore. That's not to say you'll dread returning home, however. For instance, the balcony – while small – has a rather charming view of the town's port and the Mediterranean Sea stretching into the distance.

A Spanish Retreat

A ten-minute drive from the centre of Javea, this charming villa offers sun, relaxation and access to Spain’s beautiful Costa Blanca. Golf courses, horseriding and hiking in the hills are all on offer from your doorstep. While the furnishings aren’t the most modern – plastic chairs outside and a fairly sparse living area inside – the peaceful location is what drew us to this villa. Plus, the swimming pool is vast, there’s a charm to the living room with its traditional fireplace and the kitchen has everything you need for self-catering.  

A Twist of Time

Tucked into a leafy residential area just outside Javea, this villa offers a Spanish sanctuary for those seeking a rural retreat. Outside, the pool and sun loungers are surrounded by a luscious garden and make for an ideal place to laze away afternoons. Feeling active? There’s a fitness room in the converted garage. Feeling peckish? The barbecue and alfresco dining table make meal times memorable. Feel a siesta coming on? The balcony lounge spots are perfect for dozing off under. Nearby, you’ll also find a mix of sandy beaches, golf courses, hiking trails and restaurants that will top things off.

Casa Ensemble

Immediately, this home is a sight to behold. An impressive contemporary design of sharp edges and white stone stands bold against pine-clad hillside. Inside, light and airy bedrooms are maximised by enormous sliding doors that open out onto a wrap-around balcony. Downstairs, the open-plan living space exudes sophisticated minimalism. Clean, simple lines flow onto the terrace, where you're greeted with a burst of technicolour. The pool, sky and ocean on the horizon shimmer in all shades of blue, while the garden blooms a verdant green. Bring up a bottle of red from the wine cellar and sit out in the sun on a lounger or around the dining table, snacking on cured meats and chatting about nothing in particular. The charming town of Xàbia is just a ten-minute drive away – here you can deliberate between restaurants that serve the best of Spanish cuisine before heading home to catch a pastel sunset. No matter which spot you choose, indoor or outdoor, the views across the landscape are second to none. 


Vista Tranquila

With sea views and plenty of spots to soak up the rays, this villa makes an ideal Costa Blanca retreat. Everyone will enjoy the swimming pool, while the covered terrace and sun-kissed sitting area are perfect for dinner and drinks in the coastal breeze. Sure, the design isn't the most modern, but there's a lot of room to spread out inside – not to mention it's kitted out with everything you need for a fuss-free stay. A car is a must here, as this home is located in the hills above the town. Still, it's just a short drive to Jávea's beaches, restaurants, and buzzing centre.

Tropical Teal

Minimal and bright, this charming apartment invites you to experience Xàbia from your own calm retreat. You can unwind sumptuously from your private balcony – a prime spot to revitalise after a day exploring the town’s boutiques and eateries, just a short walk from your apartment.

This apartment’s calm and comfortable aesthetic has been thoughtfully designed to maximise your coastal break. The compact kitchen is kitted out for Mediterranean bites whilst the living space is a perfect spot to enjoy a glass of Albariño – though we expect you’ll be most inclined to savour this from the armchairs on your terrace. Nothing will feel better than sinking into your sheets in your light-filled bedroom, french doors open, after a day soaking up the sun and swimming in the resort’s winding pool.

We love how well-positioned this apartment is. You’re just a short walk from the sands of Platja de l'Arenal – pick up a few delicacies and enjoy a picnic on the beach or sample the local cuisine from one of the town’s authentic sea-grazing tavernas.

Winding Waters

This is a villa that will have even the most hard-to-please guests grinning. A lot of that is down to its fabulous views of the glistening Mediterranean and Isla del Portitxol, but special praise also goes to the peaceful swimming pool surrounded by treetops and the covered terrace complete with an alfresco dining table. Although some of the bathrooms are a little dated, we've only got kind words for the three-level layout – we particularly love the main bedroom with a sea-facing balcony. To top it all off, you don't have far to venture for beautiful gold-sand beaches, either.

The Spanish Riviera

This absolute gem of a home is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty ravaged rocks meet the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea, and where beautiful beaches and hidden coves abound. Boasting uninterrupted sea views, a built-in barbecue and alfresco lounging and dining terrace as well as a west facing garden, this serene seaside home ticks all of our boxes. Conveniently laid out over one floor with high ceiling and double aspect windows, this stunning Spanish home features a fully equipped kitchen, light filled living and dining room courtesy of floor to ceiling sliding glass doors out onto the terrace, and a separate sitting room complete with TV corner and wood burning stove. 

You’ll love this home for its escapist ambience and indoor-outdoor feel. Enjoy your morning cup of coffee out on the terrace while gazing out to sea or across to the cliffs of Cap Prim. Delight in whipping up family feasts in the kitchen or get barbecuing and dine alfresco before spending the afternoon reading or reclining on the sea facing loungers. Cool off under the outdoor shower or spread out on the lawn to catch the last rays of the setting sun and as the light fades savour a bottle of wine while listening to your favourite holiday tunes.

Perfectly peaceful, super for snorkelling and yet only a leisurely stroll away from the hustle and bustle of Javea’s Arenal beach, you’re sure to see why this home’s location is one of region’s most sought after.


Tiles, Turquoise & Tunes

If you're looking for a quintessentially Spanish coastal retreat with all of the sangria and sunshine that comes with it, look no further than this gorgeous two-storey villa. Located in La Colina, you're a couple of kilometres from the vast sandy beach and crystalline waters of Platja de l'Arenal, but that's if you can peel yourself away from this achingly beautiful home. 

Days begin outside, with an iced coffee on the sun terrace, overlooking the scenic natural landscape and planning the day's agenda. It will most likely continue with a few leisurely laps of the pool before picking out a lounger to while away the hours. When lunchtime arrives, fire up the barbecue and tuck into a group feast on the terrace. You're well catered for when it comes to alfresco areas – including several day beds and covered seating space for the entire party to sprawl out and unwind. 

Inside, you'll find a comfortable living room where wood beams and tiled flooring shape the space as a whole, while homespun furnishings and a Scandinavian wood stove keep things cosy. After an afternoon snooze in the quiet bedrooms, head out to explore the charming town of Jávea with fantastic restaurants and lively bars, plus a scenic fishing port, just 10km over the hill. 

Costa Calm

Some people like to scale a rockface, but we prefer to lounge at the base. Nestled in the rugged headlands of the Montgó Massif, this quiet finca-style villa with its gleaming white exterior and terracotta roof fuse the modern with the traditional with comfort in mind. Benefitting from picturesque views down the lush hillside, this home makes the most of its spectacular location with alfresco dining areas, a terrace off the upper bedrooms and a large infinity pool. Enjoy the tranquillity of the elevated position perched up away from the hustle and bustle of the Costa Blanca yet close enough to enjoy its idyllic beaches and tourist attractions, all just a ten to fifteen-minute drive from home.
